Yesterday went to replace a nine bark bush that was dead,bought 11 months ago.was told because I didn't use the soil recommended at time of sale( which I was not told about either by sales person and chechout) that the warranty was void. Called several other nursery gardens about their planting guides and none REQUIRE a special soil to plant this bush. Will never shop sargents again and will definitely share my experience with others.Got a call from Neil this am that there was a mixup and that my nine bark was still under warranty. He delivered the new plant with greatest apologies and yes with such customer service I will shop there again.

I cannot even begin to say how magical this nursery is! I didn't know what to expect my first time in, and I was blown away by the atmosphere, selection, and warm welcoming staff! I could spend hours in there and I seriously cannot wait to go back!

Love this place! Went today with frustration over an insect invasion on my indoor peppers, and the young woman who helped me was amazing! She was able to identify the bug that was bothering my plants just by my description. I thought I figured out what they were but I was wrong and based on all that, she had great recommendations on how to address the situation. This is the store I've always gone to for buying plants and plant stuff things like that, and definitely recommend stopping in. If you're in the gardening and nature they can definitely help you out with whatever you're looking for.

Sargent's has the best quality and selection. Both locations offer a beautiful array of plants, blooming flowers, trees, shrubs and merchandise. The staff are knowledgeable and attentive.

Prices can be a bit high compared to market value, but their selection (especially their collectors section) is the best in Rochester. I love how during the winter they rearranged to allow people to sit in the greenhouse to work/enjoy their drinks from the cafe surrounded by plants!

This is my favorite place to go in Rochester! There is super cute indoor seating and it's so peaceful! It's like a mini vacation and it's the perfect spot to take a break! They have some really cute gift ideas and also a little coffee shop!

While I appreciate the selection of plants and pots, I did not feel right in the store. I’ve been there two times, for at least an hour each visit looking for pots and plant stands, and not once did anyone ask me if they could help me, even though on each visit I made purchases in excess of $100. I found a plant stand that I liked, it wasn’t marked with a price, so I asked how much. After looking it up in the computer, I was given a price but another employee looked at me and said wait, let me see if there’s another one on the floor or in back. She came back and said there wasn’t another and she was concerned because the price I was quoted « looked like a good deal. ». She thought I should be paying more than the quoted price and didn’t feel comfortable selling it to me for the quoted price. It should have been more, in her estimation. She was not friendly, eyed me strange as if I was somehow to blame for the lower price and walked away without any niceties or civility. Wow. I did purchase the stand and another stand and I paid over $100. Yet, I was treated as if I were not worthy of this purchase. Not cool.

Super friendly people with great knowledge of plants. Has a great coffee shop/ ice cream shop attached which was a nice treat while shopping. Had plants and trees I couldn’t find at other places. Will be making this my first stop when looking for new plants and/ or trees.

We have purchased about seven indoor plants and their selection is pretty good - snake plants, succulents, zz plants, fiddle-leaf fig, etc. I have been happy with the quality of the plants as well.The only disappointing thing is the service, which has been basically nonexistent each time. As someone lacking a green thumb, it would be nice if staff engaged with customers a bit, as is usually the case at other plant stores I have visited.

I n the past 2 years I have never been greeted at this store location, never asked if I needed help with anything. There us one particularly salty older female to steer clear of, she doesn’t even pretend to like people. Having said all that, they have the best flower/plant arrangements in town and a huge selection.

Fantastic staff, wonderful plants even during the winter. Shopping here is apparently truly dangerous for me as I can’t control myself. However, it’s kind of an investment seeing as all the plants I’ve bought here have lasted. Definitely recommend this place for the hospitality if nothing else. The friendly atmosphere will surly keep you around for a while as you browse.

Come here for all your green plant needs too! They helped me find a judith hindle pitcher plant which I had been looking around town for all day and this was the last place I looked:) The carnivorous section was really healthy. All the workers were happy to help! Their cacti, crassula, ficus, -and close cousins- section had a ton of plants and they were all HUGE! I'm excited to come here all the time, they have everything:)

Amazing place for indoor and succulent plants..I’ve been to EVERY plant nursery in Rochester and nothing compares to Sargent’s..They are constantly refreshing their indoor plants and offer hoyas, alocasias, crotons, antheriums, mosteras, pothos, fiddle leaf ferns, and some really unique cacti..They also have some fun pots and soil selections if you mix your own..I will say the prices are on the higher end. Especially for the less common plants. But unless you order online you won’t find these plants anywhere else in the area..I would definitely recommend this place.

I really like the people that work there. It's a friendly atmosphere. And they have a lot of nice things. But it's pretty pricey. I mostly visit because I am into bonsai and they sell some plants, but not the fertilizer or anything to go with it. And they don't have anyone their very Knowledgeable about them either.

I love this place, great variety of plants both common and rare. Only thing is sometimes I find pests on the plants, so just make sure to check them over well and give them a spray down (just like you should when buying a new plant from anywhere!)

Went their to see if they had Hardy hibiscus plants. As usual, they didn't disappoint. Purchased four for a new garden we are starting. Always find what I need at Sargent's and good quality plants are ripe for the choosing if you can decide what you want to purchase!

Sargents on 2nd is a DREAM! Theres a cute coffee shop (cafe aquí) with a patio out front and inside is everything you need from fertilizer to home & garden decor. Out back is a huge selection of plants and very knowledgeable and friendly staff to help you plan your garden or pick out a houseplant. The plants I’ve bought over the summer are always fairly priced, healthy, and growing wonderfully at home. So glad I love so close by!

Best annuals in town. Prices are a little higher but quality is worth it. Baskets are very high however. I shop here every year. This year I asked my wife, "Are we going to shop around or save time and go right to Sargent's?"Still the best, but if you shop around you can find some quality elsewhere. However you still end up at Sargents for something.
