Love their convenience, parking is always accessible and are usually well stocked with a good variety. I wish they would have more self check outs that weren't card only, I often have to wait and let others in line behind me go ahead because I usually prefer to pay with cash but there are limited self check outs that allow cash. Produce can be hit or miss so wish the produce section was better as well as the fish selection, but the meat counter is great for steaks and burgers! They have a great well organized health food section as well for vegan, gluten free, or specialty diets so a major bonus! Also the cheese selection is always awesome!! If you're looking for good cheese check out their selection, they have an awesome cheese monger!!! You can get smaller samples of cheese too which is awesome if you want to try some smaller selections first before buying larger wedges or just for charcuterie boards. Always my first choice for groceries

I just like every other place out there they make you feel like you're getting a deal and you pull the sticker back and look at what it was before and what it is now. Just another sham thanks I'd go elsewhere anyway since they screwed their employees out of a discount about a year ago or so. Last time I'll ever go

Older, smaller store with clean, organized, faced aisles. Usual line of produce, product, paper goods, beauty and health, bakery, meats, pharmacy, deli, cafe and Caribou Coffee. Found that Butcher Shop was running a meat sale and that was a plus. One really needs to watch the sales as prices do tend to be higher than other large chain grocery outlets. I find that Hy-Vee stores give you a more customer service, more quality over quantity approach to shopping. Less isn’t always the best.

The manager had me followed in the store due to having a suitcase on the bottom of my cart that was zipped shut because he thought I was stealing. After spending over $110 with receipt in hand I was stopped by the manager and the employee that was following me. I offered to show my receipt and I explained I Uber home due to not having a car and live on the 3rd floor so I consolidate my groceries into my suitcase which is much easier than multiple bags. He told me next time to leave my suitcase with customer service. They stopped me with no proof of theft!

Too many HyVees. This Reese’s banana tastes good where other HyVee not have? I am going back to Liquor store for Non-Alcoholic selections that they have. Barlow Plaza as an area just needs a make over. It is visually stressful of old stuff and busy traffic. Maybe more trees and plants.

Dowd I believe is how you spell his name is an unhelpful and rude manger! I came in to pick up a gift card from another manager (who was very helpful) and he treated me like I was trying to just get free money. He didn’t do ANYTHING at all to even try to help me. He looked for literally 2 secs and got rude and told me to “just call the other manager tomorrow morning sometime”. He had an attitude and didn’t even attempt to rectify anything. He should NOT be in any position dealing with customers.

Pretty pricey, but a great selection of products, and a lot of good sales. You can do all your food shopping here in one stop. Also discounts on gas for shopping here (they have their own gas station).

I came into Barlow last week at about 6:15am to pickup a few things. I received an email from Hy-Vee for $3 off my next purchase of $10 or more, automatically applied to my perks card. After scanning my items I tried to scan my perks bar code and it would not take the $3 off, I tried 3 times. The so called manager SARAH came over and I explained everything to her. I very politely asked her to go in manually and apply the $3 off my purchase. SARAH REFUSED! She told me to go home and call the perks number and have them try to figure it out, then come back and try it again!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME, for a $3 coupon I should waste my time and gas! We spend probably thousands of dollars a year at Hy-Vee and SARAH would not validate my $3 off!!! SARAH told me she “DID NOT HAVE TO DO ANYTHING! and walked away!!! I told SARAH that I never need to shop at Hy-Vee again and I ment it!!!!I’m 65 years old, have shopped thousand of times and never been treated so poorly!!!

It's a very nice store, but I had a bad experience with them. I got some sushi Luckily before we started eatting it my husband noticed alive green bug in it. I complained and they never got back to me. I felt I should have gotten a refund.

Hy-vee has great customer service but not that great of prices. The layout of the store was a bit confusing but I figured it out. I was actually looking for wine but their liquor store is across the parking lot which was a lil inconvenient. All in all I'll probably stick to my usual go-to walmart when it comes to groceries.

Very friendly helpful staff. Store has a lot of older narrow aisles though, and can be difficult to maneuver with a full size shopping cart. Produce was fresh!!

All but 2 of the self checkouts are broken and all of the normal checkout lanes are closed which is super convenient for superbowl weekend. Don't worry though, there is an armed guard lurking in the self checkout watching you so they can execute customers as needed. Get your groceries anywhere else

Ordered potatoes andhad to ask to have them warmed up. Started eating my pancake and that was cold as well. No one came back to see if was warm enough.

Barlow Plaza Hy-Vee still treats the customer right. It's not all self checkout. They have teens working hard probably their first jobs... learning to be productive members of society. Great job.

The worker's at the service counter are very good at what they do. Anytime I have something to mail out they always try to get me the best price for mailing...which I appreciate very much

Good grocery store, able to find things easily. Good meat and seafood selections. This is my go to Hyvee in town. There is a Starbucks inside so you can caffinate while you shop.

I used to always be pleased with Hy-Vee's service and products. But I have noticed a decline in service over time, like with everything in this country. But this evening I just had such a poor experience that I had to write about it. To make a long story short, the bagger didn't know anything about bagging groceries. I believe that they don't even train baggers anymore. He had raw meat with the produce...etc... Then he put the bread at the bottom of the cart under everything else. When I packed the car, I noticed that the bread was squished. So I took the receipt to customer service to return the bread. I didn't think about needing the card to put the money back on. After all, it was less than $5. So I assumed they could just give me cash back. My husband had the card in his wallet and was just going to drive up to get me. I didn't have time or energy for an exchange. I just wanted a refund. But I was refused. Gone are the days where the customer is always right, and the employees do the work. I remember when the supervisor would offer to run back and get you another loaf. Anyway, I ended up taking the squished loaf of bread home. I really wish we could go back to the good old days before self checkouts, when businesses took pride in their companies, and employees had work ethics and character. Shopping used to be a fun experience instead of just another chore.
