Amazing staff! I'm in Rochester recovering from a stem cell transplant and the employees of Chuck & Don's Rochester helped me find a collar for my emotional support cat.. my wife and I have 6 cats that I haven't seen for over a month.They also let me pet Susan and give her treats, she's a very sweet girl who deserves a great furrever home

Chuck and Don's is full of all things I love for my pets. It makes me so happy just going inside. It's clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful and I love getting special treats for my cats. It's also a great place for me to get gifts for my clients!

Stepping away from the large pet supplies box store and commercial grade products, this Minnesota based company turned to a more healthy approach. Once owned by partners Chuck Anderson and Don Tauer, this fast growing chain opened in 1990 and has since grown to 45 locations across four states. Standing on the promise of being “a community of experts from nutritionists to groomers to behaviorists dedicated to holistic pet wellness” has brought pet owners into their stores looking for a better alternative for pet health, hygiene and overall happiness. From natural food to quality treats, supplies to grooming, daycare to training and even mobile Vet services. Being from out of town and needing a quick bath for our traveling companion Bentley, we were pleased to find a self-wash here. Ben was our friendly guide and got us setup in one of their easily accessible wash stations. Shampoo, conditioner, towels, blowers and even smocks for those not wanting to be soaked in the process. Did note that their bulk shampoo/conditioner has little lather and even less of a smell. But our Bentley’s coat seemed to be clean with a nice sheen to it. Blowers have adjustable speed and that’s a plus for pets that can be more skittish of sound and air flow. Easy, reasonably priced, owner and pet friendly and the mess is on them.

We’ve been patrons of Chuck and Don’s since it opened in Rochester and have noticed a huge change in service, unfortunately not for the better. When we stopped in today and asked for a dog wash, staff was very short with us when telling us we’d have to wait awhile for them to clean a tub. We have no problem waiting- but the way we were spoken to rubbed us the wrong way from the start. Then staff told us we couldn’t wash both dogs in the same tub, something we’ve been told we can do since we first started coming here. Again- if that’s the rule, that’s fine, but when we were trying to explain that staff has always allowed us to do this and asked if this was a new rule, the staff member told us that it was “poor management” and pointed to a fairly new sign on the wall that said “one dog per bath.” Then we noticed that we were only given two towels and all the other towels were locked up. We have pretty big, fluffy dogs. Two towels were simply not enough, and we were confused why the number of towels was suddenly limited. Add this to the severe watering down of the shampoo and conditioner (of which we’ve just started bringing our own) and the whole experience just ended up being terrible. Our year long bath pass ends next month and, after several steadily declining visits, we have no plans on returning.

We visited this store in August to give our boy one last bath and some treats before he left this world. They went above and beyond to give us and our boy a wonderful experience and I’m forever grateful for the wonderful people working here! I’ve visited other pet stores in Rochester and nothing like this. Keep up the good work guys

Chuck and Dons is great overall. This Rochester location is open random hours. They have new temporary hours but I’ve walked up to security just staring out the doors offering no explanation. If you’re going to choose this chuck and dons give them a call before heading out.

Since we got our two Havanese who are almost 1. Cisco and Cocoa love this place. We have not brought them often since they are still acquainting with other dogs. We have been so pleased with the staff. I have been served by Nico, Jasmine and Ben. Great service and professional advice especially when we were trying out new foods and figuring out what suited out fur babies. I love the set up and selection of merchandise in your store. I would NEVER go elsewhere. We will one day try out the shampoo station. THANK YOU for all you do. I always look forward to coming to your store. Love the samples to take home to try out.

Hi,Chuck and Dons is an amazing store to come to! They treat there customers well and the costumers pets the same way. From my experience they treat their costumers with respect and give great advice when it comes to animals. They even treat their foster cat like their own until the cat finds a home :)

I always have a very great experience with customer service and awesome products here! Each time I’ve made the drive out here, the lady (With short black hair) always goes above and beyond as an employee to help me find what my pup needs and makes my pup feel welcome! She got him some fresh water to drink and allowed me to borrow a leash for Kai when I didn’t have one. He is very excited to greet others here and scope out the variety of treats/scents. Very welcoming and authentic atmosphere. Love the different Bandanas, accessories, and puzzle toys they have each time! Definitely worth the trip and visit for pet needs. The emails they send out are also very helpful when you become a member as it pertains to pet health and safety!
