After dropping off our deposit, we received weekly updates so we knew everything was still on track! Install happened fast and when expected. We had 300 of privacy fence and two custom sized gates installed. I was concerned about quality and especially installation. I know labor workers are hard to come by these days. Not only is the fence a great product, but the installation was perfect, and crew was outstanding. We communicated often with Hector, who was on the site first day. He always kept us informed of the progress, and what to expect next. He and the entire crew were friendly and professional, and worked hard to get it done. We're so thankful we had this experience, and would highly recommend American Fence again, especially with their great crew. Thank you!

I received three quotes on wrought iron fencing that we had installed at our place north of the river. These guys came in the cheapest (not always a good thing), and did an amazing job. Great communication and follow up before and after. Highly recommend them.

This project was going to be done by the end of June 2019, but wasn't complete until mid October 2019. It was constantly "two weeks away".A piece of the fence was damaged due to wind, and we were told the fence would be fixed the next week. A month later it was finally fixed.Several sections of the fence came dislodged (attached) on December 4th, 2020. We were told it would be fixed the following week. No one has come out. No one has contacted us. I have called the company several times and was told someone would call me back that day. Still nothing.When we were having our fence built, we were told they were trying to get caught up on repairs of existing fences. Now that we have an existing fence that needs to be repaired, we just don't hear back.3/11/2021: Fence is still damaged, but its okay. I put bungee cords on it to hold the two sections together after seeing that it had fallen apart again this morning. See the last two photos.The damaged sections of the fence were repaired in mid 2022 and we have no issues with those sections since.

American fence did a really nice job. It looks great! It was originally not installed to the specifications that we requested in the agreement however, they did come back and redo it and fixed. They will be back to redo one more post and straighten the spindles in the spring but overall satisfied with the fence. The communication was not the best in the beginning. We were told the post and fence would be put up the same week, however the fence portion was not put up for another couple weeks because it needed to be measured specifically from post to post. Communication could of been more clear so expectations were clear.Summer has been nice and responsive! Andy, the superintendent came on site to review each concern and helped to make it right. We have small dogs and emphasized this at time of contract signing. We had to put many stakes in places to keep our small dog from going under multiple places on this fence. No resolve. Double gate was not left with a pipe and post to sufficiently lock the gate. Informed company more than once and no resolve. The back gate would not open. Requested a re alignment of that gate and a post to finish the security of the double gate from the very beginning and was sent a quote for over 1,000.00 to do so. I expected an expense but this was totally unreasonable. Can not refer this company because of so much frustration and poor customer service.

I needed a fence for my backyard. I contacted a bunch of fence companies asking for a quote but only a few responded. American Fence Company responded really quickly and gave me a quote for exactly what I needed. It was more money than I expected, but I guess prices are going up.They sent someone out to measure the yard, and then sent someone out to flag the post locations. Both people were friendly and helpful. They even checked for the property line pins.The installers were delayed by a few days, but when they came they worked hard all day and got everything but the gates done by the evening. We had to replace our fence that split with our neighbor that included basically low-grade chicken wire, severely rusted and falling apart. We have 2 bassets and a corgi. Our male basset must of had some houdini DNA and liked to visit with neighborhood dogs without asking.Time for a new fence install as soon as possible. They were very professional, quality metal fencing and they listened to our concerns about keep the hound'ini's in the yard!A second visit was warranted about two days after the initial install since our male found a weak spot. The company is still working with us for a final solution so it's appreciated once it's finally done! Thank you!

I would highly recommend American Fence Company to whoever is looking to get a fence installed. We had about 320 feet of 6 foot vinyl fence installed with 2 single gates and a double gate around our back yard. Our estimator was prompt, listen to what we where looking for and answers all our question. The estimate was in the ball park of what we where expecting and was cheapest out of the other companies we had out. I normally don’t go with the cheapest but our interaction with the whole staff at American Fence Company made our choice easy. Our installation was done sooner than expected because they where able to get all the material in sooner than expected because we had this done at the time of vinyl shortage/Covid. We have had our fence for 2 years now and after the first year we notice our gates no working like they originally did after install so I let them know about the issue and they came back and fixed them for me in a timely manner. American fence installed a large 6’ cedar privacy fence for us this summer. Our initial interaction was good. Workers were very respectful, efficient, and helpful.We had several issues with this company, and would not recommend to others:1. We asked to reinforce areas of the fence. We were told this couldn’t be done and was unnecessary. Later, we were told otherwise, and had to hire out the job to reinforce the fence with another group.2. In no circumstance would I recommend working with Austin Dinnes, our project manager with American Fence. He does not answer phone calls. Multiple times, large miscommunications occurred. He didn’t listen to us as a customer, and accused us twice of being wrong when he had given us misleading/ incomplete information.3. We wanted the fence installed 2” above the ground, and many parts are 6” above grade. To fix this, they proposed screwing a 2x4 along the bottom. While this would fix the gap, it seemed like a quick fix, not an aesthetically nice option.4. They set our posts in the rain.Service: Wood fence installation

While the communication wasn’t the best, the fence that they installed for us ended up looking awesome. There was a lack in communication with us regarding our project timeline, as well as a lack in communication between the team members about the details of our project. They ended up fixing the issues and got the fence exactly how we requested, but due to the lack in communication, it was completed several weeks after the original timeline we were given.Service: Fence installation

While all we needed was a simple fix, from start to finish, we were so pleased and impressed with the service we received from American Fence Company. I called and explained how our gate latch was no longer working - - a critical element to our fence as we need to keep our dog safely in our back yard. The office staff was able to send someone out that week and the repair was made that day. Top quality work and pleasant efficient staff. I would highly recommend this fence company.

I worked with Alex from the Rochester, MN branch, and he was awesome. Very good communication, letting me know times and dates that they would be at our house (it was tough to schedule due to waiting for the ground to thaw). We had a slight issue with the locates, which he called me right away and let me know of the delay. The installers did a great job, and our dogs couldn't be happier. I would gladly recommend American Fence Company to anyone that asks.

I wanted to enjoy working with American Fence. It began well as Austin came out to walk the fence perimeter and was very well engaged. We began fence installation about a month ago. We've had to have fence posts re-dug even when the workers themselves admitted it wasn't right the first time and now have been waiting on new gate doors for a week and a half after their workers installed ones that were not at all suited for the terrain. There were other issues but they were in the contract as possible issues...word of advice, pay to have them remove the dirt and get the insurance if you have a sprinkler system. The only reason for 2 stars is Summer, the residential project manager, has been very helpful and responsive. I'd likely go with someone else if I had to do this process again.
