I try to shop local and frequently go to Prior Lake Hardware where I know things cost a little more than the large stores. Today, however, I tried to buy four 40 pound bags of water softener salt that was advertised at 2/$15. The four bags rang up as $8 each and, after tax, the total was almost $35. I showed the cashier their sign but they refused to honor it. I went to Home Depot and paid $25.

Employees seem indifferent. Most of the time they don't have what I'm looking for or enough of it where I'm frequently told to go to the other store. Certainly not a "one stop shop"!

I had to buy a mower since I sold mine when I moved. They said they would deliver in three days after a very quick transaction... they delivered it the next day. Called to let me know it arrived and where they put it, exactly where I said. Great team!!!

Recently, I brought in my Craftsman lawn mower for repair under warranty. I verified with Craftsman customer service that this specific Ace was a place I could bring it. I even called the Ace off Main St to again verify I had the right location.I arrived at the Ace and notified the front desk employee that this was a Craftsman lawnmower, under warranty and I was told to bring it here to be fixed. He acknowledged, took the lawn mower and that was that.I called two weeks later after hearing nothing and was assured the mechanic would be looking at it tomorrow. I waited another week and called again. It was apparent the lawn mower still had not been looked at. I was now being told because it is a Craftsman that they cannot work on it under warranty. I explained to them everything I mentioned above and was told to maybe call Craftsman again. I assured them that Craftsman would most likely tell me to contact Ace and the run around would continue.I understand that mix ups happen, but to hold onto my lawn mower for 3 weeks, finally take a look at it and say that there's nothing they can do and either I can pay for it or pick it up seems ridiculous. Maybe Ace could contact Craftsman since there seems to be a disconnect between the two?Well, this was my experience with Ace and my grass is out of control! 2 Stars because the gentlemen I spoke to were nice.

This is a great place the only reason why I give them 3 stars and not 5 stars is for the fact the OWNER never helps me when I come in the store when I go to ask him a question it seems like he always turns is back on me it and takes off to a different aisle or something makes me feel like he’s… never mind I don’t even want to say it just know when people of Color come into your store treat them with a little more respect than that all people shall be treated or should be treated equally!

The staff is always willing to help you find what you need and when inventory isn't as you hope they are sensitive to how frustrating that can be and try to find an alternative. We definitely consider them one of our best choices when we need something and often start here. We've also rented from them and had great experiences with that as well.

Very well organized and informative. These guys definitely got it going on here..The owner is usually here and participates in almost every venue and whatever your hardware needs are..I would highly recommend that you stopping to this place and look for some great deals or anything else that you might need for your residence or Farm.

Has pretty much everything you need and everything you could want that you would expect a good hardware store to have. Plus a few more household items then I expected. Staff was friendly and not bothersome, fair prices, clean store. Worth a visit.

Awesome local hardware with even better staff. Very knowledgeable on everything you would need. Good gift selections and all the household gear, tools, etc. you could need. Love that they carry Schaeffer Oil products!

Went in today, needed help getting the correct bolts to attach my license plate. Byron helped me find the right size and even put the plate on for me. Outstanding customer service.

Small store, but most of the time has the quick needed item you need while in the middle of a project. However, if you need something extremely specific you may want to call b4 showing up, or try a larger store.

Normally I get great service at ACE. However, today’s attempt at getting a combination sports license for my husband and a fishing license for both of us was not to be. We told them to cancel it. We went to Scheels instead. The license was not canceled. So our experience at Scheels was tough as well. We wound up having to get a duplicate license. I still have to call the DNR to get my fishing license...I’m not sure but I think it’s because the guys @ ACE spelled my first name wrong....2.5 hours later and I still don’t have a fishing license....

The smell!!! The store smells like a nuclear site. First time I didn't go to the store, although I know they have the part in stock, BECAUSE of the VOC's you breath in by just walking around.

Piss poor service. Come in to find a part for my snow blower and as one guy is looking up the part, the manager is standing there saying how he doesn't know why people keep coming for parts when they don't have a mechanic on the clock. Not going to have to worry about me coming there again.

Bought some live bait the other night. Two scoops received 15 minnows, looked to be all male fat heads, he puts them in a bag with very little water an no air. I live 4 min away an they were all DEAD by the time I got home. It's not the first time this has happened either.
