PHENOMENAL Scavenging!Mike's Discount Foods is a locally owned company that specializes in out of date, overstocked, closeouts, damaged, discontinued food and merchandise. (Mostly food.)These images are from the new Princeton location. Great, clean, organized.We have been to the Anoka location, it is an old convenience store, so it is small yet mighty.We have been to the Fridley location which is the warehouse or main store. It has many items to choose from.The staff at every store is/are EXCEPTIONALLY FRIENDLY!! ☆☆☆☆☆Which in my experience is a silent testimony for the leadership of the locations and ownership.We appreciate shopping at each location and love the great deals.This is a bring your own bag (or box) establishment, to pass the savings on to you.

They have giant boxes of stuff with good prices, but it's hard to shop out of them. You really have to commit to digging. It's especially hard to look through the health and beauty items. Maybe tables would with better, with smaller boxes?

Love Mike's. Found so many great items and I have so much fun looking through the mounds of clothing and treasure hunt items they have now. We have tried a couple of the yell-oh(formally Schwans)foods and they were yummy. I highly recommend Mike's.

Review & pics 7/11/23. Starbucks cups, awesome deals on cereal, bang beverage, cherries, cheese, yogurt, health and beauty, etc! Mike's Discount Foods has food that may be near or past its best by date. This food is still good, as it doesn't magically expire on that date. I loooove Mike's! This store is sooooo clean, new, the aisles are nice and wide. Signage is bright and large! Nice, clean bathrooms. Maybe this is a new building, and I just don't know? I have been to the Fridley and Columbia Heights, and one other location. Just like target and Walmart, Not everything is a deal, so it's great to know your prices ahead of time!BRING YOUR OWN Bags!

We have shopped there several times...and aware of the dating on products....BUT. This time...bought Breakstone brand cottage cheese...opened it ..it had a life of its own.... nasty...I have tried calling the store three times, wanted to let them be aware...it only says their busy and try to call again... so...done calling. Posted this instead. Knowing staffing is always an issue, but at least allow a person to leave message...thank you.

found Mike's discount on Facebook and decided to drive out, very reasonably priced. Was able to get quite a bit of stuff. Definitely will be back.

Absolutely worth the drive if you're feeding a large family. If all of our 17 children were still living at home I wouldn't even bother with Walmart or Aldi- I'd go STRAIGHT to Mikes!

Now there's a store I could get used to, prices are very reasonable and just walking thru the store, we picked up things that we didn't really need, but bought them anyway because they were priced so good. Definitely worth the trip and will shop there again for sure!! Totally love this store!! You will find something you want, not necessarily need, but what fun is always getting what you need!! Now they have a whole lot of clothing! Their frozen section is amazing but some are pricy, but don't know what to compare it to!!

I shopped Mike's yesterday for the first time. I more than likely will not be going back. They do have a lot to offer but unfortunately I am not one to purchase outdated items. )Not all items are outdated ) The store was busy so I would say give them a try and see if they are right for you.

Always enjoy shopping here. We normally shop the specials and pick up a few odds and ends. Please know that this is a discount store, so if you're worried about expiration dates, items are close to, or have already expired.

We love Mike's Discount foods! The new location in Princeton was our "adventure up North"! We were happy to find there was ample parking albeit a little confusing with so many other vendors using the same entrance.Once we parked and went inside, we were pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the store, and the friendliness of employees. All were pleasantly willing to help with any question we had.Every visit, presents new items but, buyer beware and check the expiration or best by dates. In case you were not aware, this is a liquidation store that receives items from others that are typically nearing their date or beyond. Unfortunately, I didn't notice one of the items I picked up was dated March of 2021.. it is now March of 2023! Definitely bad taste BLECH!Aside from that, once you know what you're in for, there is a treasure trove of exciting surprises and bargains around each turn. To our delight, although it can be extremely busy, there is a 10% discount on your entire order if you shop on Tuesdays.

Love the prices but be sure to check sell by dates.Like senior discount on TuesdayThey had the coffee I have been looking for.Decaf coffee with chicory from New Orleans.So wonderful.

Nice store with tons of room between the aisles. Staff is friendly and it appears they enjoy working with each other.We always find deals when we are shopping here. Some items are not a better deal than regular grocers, but overall it's worth coming here.

This place is great if you aren't too squeamish about best sell dates. You can get some really great deals here on stuff like snacks. You never know what you'll find at Mike's! This Mike's is the best out of the 3 or 4 locations I've visited

I really love the opportunities to try things there at a discount that I wasn't comfortable paying retail prices on. I've found several great products that I didn't know existed that are safe for me to eat with my food allergies!The savings are fabulous!
