We stopped here to get rough cut black pipestone. They have rough cut stone as well as a variety of items hand-made by native Americans. The shop was wonderful! Buddy was very helpful, and his stories were interesting and inspiring.

Love this place, worth the stop! Locally ran. very informative staff. I bought a peice of raw pipestone and wanted to make my own pipe. I learned alot about what to use and how to go about doing it. And just finished my first ever red pipestone pipe. THANKS PIPEKEEPERS!

Beautiful little shop in a historic building that used to serve as a shelter when people were waiting for the train. Great choice of pipestone work and other local handcrafted objects of high quality. Very friendly service.

Beautiful variety: from high end, stunning pipes and a few rings and necklaces, to raw pipestone (red and black), small hand tools, other DYI bits and pieces, and screen-print t-shirts. Owner was a quarrier and shared his extensive knowledge and wonderful stories from his own history and that of his tribal community. Definitely worth stopping and finding something for yourself and to gift.

Bud was very knowledgeable and such a joy to visit with. We really enjoyed learning more about Native American culture and the work that Bud does. A must stop and see especially after visiting the Pipestone monument!

Wonderful day with Bud learning how to carve a traditional pipe. He was a patient and knowledgeable teacher. The gift shop has a fantastic collection of pipes for sale in addition to a wide range of other Native American-crafted items. Highly recommend!

This is, by far, the most well-stocked pipestone store that I visited. It had a wide selection of books, completed items (pipes, jewelry, etc), as well as an excellent selection of raw/cut pipestone and pipe-making materials. The gentleman working there was helpful, friendly, and informative. I hope to visit again.

Bud Johnson founder of this organization and I shared a great conversation. Many Native American resources and tools may be found here. A great history of the indigenous people's is also to be had. Kind spiritual wisdom permeates the atmosphere. If you seek the Canumpa ways...this is the place.

Found out this was a historical building that has been transformed into a shop that displays and sells native made items. Also had a friendly conversation with the proprietor about the history of the building and surrounding area.

Bud, the owner of this shop, is an Ojibwe member. He is an interesting person to talk to and can tell you all about Oijiwe culture. He and his family often do educational activities, and even put on a culture camp that I attended. His shop is full of local handcrafted items. And he also has some wild rice from the reservation (which is better then the commerical stuff you get from the store) in a cabinet by the door. He will also sell you a piece of raw Pipestone if you want to try carving yourself.Bud and his family are dedicated to preserving thier traditions. I would highly recommend you stop by this shop and support them.
