I was a little uncomfortable at first when I came in with my camera and said I didn't need help all 3 times I was asked within a few steps of entering. One of the staff members scoffed at me after I noticed him glaring at me and looked over (younger guy with dark hair and short beard). After the initial awkwardness, I was able to explore the store without being watched or followed and found out it's more extensive than I had thought from previous visits. They have 3 floors of just about everything you would want or need in & around your house. Everything is neat, well organized and clean. I just never made it very far into the store before on account of the staff being very forward, almost confrontational. I know it's family-owned and probably the only hardware store in Pine River, but if I'm not looking for anything specific, I would really rather travel and avoid being put on the spot by several people. I think this store could be 5 stars, it's just awkward whenever I go there. Aside from the guy who glared and scoffed at me, the rest of the staff seemed like nice people who love the store. I also got the impression that the older couple would have been extremely knowledgeable if I had specific hardware needs. It takes a while to explore everything. In fact, I spent so long in the store, I bought a pair of pliars out of sheer guilt.

What a great store. I went in with friends expecting to get some vacuum cleaner bags or something. They had (visiting) THE most adorable 2 springer spaniel puppies. I just loved these adorable pups. Then I shopped and found canning supplies, Christmas decorations, a fry pan, some candy, a calendar, some tape, an end table AND the vacuum cleaner bags. This is a great store!!! I can't wait to go back.

Gardiner's Hardware saved the day! We needed a specific plumbing fitting in a hurry, and they had it in stock at a great price. The staff was incredibly helpful, guiding us right to what we needed and even offering some handy advice. Their service was speedy, and we were in and out of the store in no time. Gardiner's Hardware is a lifesaver for those last-minute DIY projects. Highly recommend for their excellent selection, fair prices, and top-notch service.

A full service hardware store with gifts and furniture. Nice helpful staff.9-19-22: "hardware", paints, appliances, tools, etc.4-27-24: I still buy hardware, Paints/Stains, appliances (fridge) and various tools as needed.

A neat store from the past. One of them hardware stores that has a little bit of everything. The precursor to a Walmart I'd almost say stop there even for a tourist thing. Friendly people

We were so lucky to stumble upon Gardiner's Hardware when we were setting up our new home. My mom and I went in with a list and got everything within 10 minutes. Even when our brains could not come up with the right words for what we needed, the staff members- Janice and Brett- were able to help us name and find everything. And it has a little bit of everything! I want to go back with more time to just browse.

If you want to rent something then they have it. They have fancy building materials and all that cool stuff. They have wood and most of the time a dog there. Cashiers are super nice i would recommend this place.

Went on a mission with my wife to replace a refrigerator. We knew from living in the area, that they carried a limited selection of appliances. The people there are very friendly and helpful.We weren't able to find what we were looking for. The lady that waited on us said they have a lot of "supply chain "issues. She was very apologetic for something that isn't her fault.

Loved the deals I found on Memorial day Flower's and some gift's that I found to give. The store was neat and clean. Staff asked a couple of time's if I was finding what I needed. Thanks for great customer service!

It's a LOT more than hardware. They have just anot anything for the home you could need, including furniture and big appliances! It's a big old store with lots of stuff to look at. The people are nice, the town is nice, and it made for an enjoyable afternoon just wandering around.

Ordered a chair and after waiting 5 weeks called to check on estimated delivery time. The chair had never been ordered....due to high shipping costs. I told Janice I would have paid the shipping costs, I wanted that chair. Order cancelled. Communication skills non-exsistent.
