Suppose to be open 8a, now after 8 and doors locked. Sign on door in yellow says "run to bank be right back" and other 2 signs on door says "due to staff shortage we will be closing at 12pm today". Not sure how old signs are but why can't you have proper staff. Is this a managment issue, is there a issue with manager inside store what's going on.Most times I come here there seems to be something happening like can't sell tobacco products because they changed case over and are waiting for key well 5 months later I still get that story why can't they get a key to be able to sell those products...Well what a loss of customers also from 8a to now 820a I have watched 12 vehicles pull in some parked and seen sign left right away and some tried to go in but locked. I talked with few of them that seemed to be upset and they claim it's ongoing every day.Well I finally got into store at 830am, female drove in a dark color van and her an another guy got out. Guy started that van in pics and left she open store I don't believe they no bank run was the think must have been breakfest or something with that guy, she had no bank bag or money. when they finally open doors, this place was mess inside and hard to get around because crap was in the way.Update I guess I can't add photos. Also note I arrived at 750a so from 750a to 830a it was bank run and closed, bank is not even block away. Also note the employee inside must have been manager, I waited at counter to check out for awhile before she came, she complained of it being hard to get stuff done when your the only employee and that all her other 4 employees just up an quit kinda unprofessional to talk of that and I don't care.

For a few days now people have had to pull their stuff out of the cooler on their own out of the boxes these are the same guys that wouldn't hire me cuz I have a felony felony from 7 years ago there ain't have to ring people up anymore they have self checkout whatever happened to this planet

We went into the store to look at clothes and grab some food, it was horrible the whole store was filthy. The clothing aisle and it shoes were trashed, someone had just thrown them everywhere and they were all over the place not where they were supposed to be. We were there at noon and the store does not get that busy where they employees who one was ringing people up, the other just standing around cant clean it up!! I've been in Dollar General all over the country and this is the worst one I've ever been in!!

I purchased an item on 10/8/2023 from the Garrison, MN. I live in Pillager so I returned the item to the Pillager store on 11/13/2023. The barcode on my receipt was not working Janelle told me they could not accept the return since it was past the 30 days. She told me I could take the item to the original store and they may not refund me (roughly 45 minutes from my house). I asked if she could return it without a receipt, she said since I had the receipt she would not be able to do that. I left and researched the return policy, I returned five minutes later with the return policy which states 90 days, it’s been 35 days since the original purchase. She stated she would return it this one but would not refund me again. I stated I beg corporate would love to know how customers were treated. She stated customers are treated great it’s the ones who come in and treat employees bad who are treated poorly. She asked the other employee for a DG gift card, I stated I have the receipt and the original form of payment. She stated it would be refunded to a DG gift card without the receipt and I would only get the sale price. I asked who the owner was and she stated she was the owner of this location. I stated I have the receipt so it should be refunded to the original form she said she would refund it for the current sale price. (The Christmas items are not currently on sale). I began to call corporate and she was all of a sudden able to give me a refund to the original form of payment. I asked for a receipt and she denied me a receipt which showed the return, I began to call corporate and she was able to provide a photocopy of my original receipt which had the returned item on it. I stated I would be calling corporate and she stated she has worked there for 10 years and it’s been that way then she walked away and stated she would tell her DM I was in there, I asked what DM was and she stated I will let my DM know you were in here and how rude you were.

Came up here at 6 PM and they close at 9pm. Really sad when you can’t stay open til 9pm which isn’t even late!! There was shoppers in there but the employees decided to close store early!0/10

It's nice to have the store in town. My issue is with the manager Janell. She is always rude to my disabled daughter when she checks her out. Yesterday she refused to get her ice stating it was probably frozen shut. My daughter bought a box of cigarette papers that she angrily shoved in the bag and crushed half of the box. Other family members say that she is mean to them as well. I hope this review gets to her supervisor. Please do something about the way she treats your customers.

I've been shopping here for 4 yrs now. The last year or so it has went completely downhill! This place is terrible. The prices are ALWAYS wrong and items are going up weekly.. The cashiers are rude and crabby all the time. The store is dirty also. I try not to go there. It's nothing like the motley store!

My family and I have been going here since the store opened. What a wonderful addition to Pillager.We have noticed since going there that the manager Janelle is really unappreciative of her employees and customers. She is snappy and becomes irritated when she has to come up to the register to help ring someone up for their items.

If I could give them 0 stars, I would. Went there for Halloween decorations 21 days before Halloween and they had everything already put in storage. They felt having Christmas decorations out was more important than Halloween decorations. Also no one is ever at the register. You have to wait several minutes to receive help.

The cashier was mad about something and was swearing. Was not very professional at all. The store was a little clustered. And there wasn't anyone available to ask for help. I love Dollar General but the Pillager one was it one of my favorite.

Very rude service! The manager is very rude went there with a friend for a sale. They told us that coupons are not allowed on sale items and we could only choose one digital coupons or paper ones. We literally had 1 paper coupon for toliet paper and she treated us like we were trying to steal the store. So went to staples! And like always they are great there.

Rae is very friendly always has a smile on her face & has something to talk about. The store heater isn't working and needs to be fixed. I feel for the workers having to dress in layers. That's not called for.

Rude staff, not open after 5. Have sale signs up but the sale prices don't ring up that way and they won't honor it. Store is a disaster, disorganized and product not stocked on the shelf.

Always friendly staff. I do a lot of my shopping at 1 of 3 Dollar Generals as the cost is much lower on a lot of cleaning stuff as well as some food and sodas.

I am grateful for the Dollar General in our little town my only complaint would be if they run out of stock a lot. Other than that they're quick helpful and courteous.

The bathroom is disgusting and there was stuff all over the floor. All while the one guy who just was hired is doing all the work and the other stands around on his cell phone.

I generally like to shop here but at this particular stores the cashier's always seem so unfriendly almost to the point of being rude the only reason I didn't give it one star is because my daughter says it's a pretty nice in there cuz she lives here and I don't so maybe it's just the outsiders they don't like I don't know.
