We stopped in here for lunch on a road trip across MN. The food was really good. My bf got a burger and I got the black bean burger and both were very tasty. I think what really made it a good experience though was our waitress; I didn't get her name but she had a really spirited personality. I'd recommend for lunch--food was good, decor not so much--but that's ok.

Friday nights are very busy at this place. They are fish dinner on Fridays. I had the boiled cod and it was very good. Service was a little slow but I attributed it to how busy it was. There are so many pies that sounded and looked so good so I got one to go and it was yummy.

Though we had to wait to order and a bit long for the food because of being short of staff it was worth it. My sister-in-law and I had two different turkey sandwiches that we talked about all day! And they also have great pies. The waitress was by herself. She was quite the hustler. Note that if you are biking they are currently closed on Wednesdays. Would definitely stop again.

Great little find in Peterson, MN. While staying in the area, we were recommended to try this place out. It was great for breakfast. Your typical small town cafe with locals hanging out having coffee all morning. Our server was friendly and helpful. The food was filling and tasty. Nothing disappointed us at all. Had a skillet, biscuits and gravy and stuffed French toast and it was all soooooo good!!!We’d definitely go back!

Me and my significant other and daughter heard of this place from a email I got and we drove over 2 hours to try it. It was amazing and the burger with the gravy was sooo good. The pie was delicious and the cooks wife makes amazing pies! We will definitely take the drive again and visit again.

Such a cute quaint little place. Family owned and operated by an awesome family. Local ice cream and live music included! Come for breakfast, lunch, or dessert, stay for the comfortable family atmosphere and welcoming staff.

Awesome brunch meal, I had the Gabe Skillet with added green and red peppers, mushrooms and onions...otherwise it comes with sausage bits, cheese, scrambled eggs and hash browns. Along with your choice of toast or 2 nice sized pancakes. I chose the pancakes and it was delicious. Steve Burdey, the cook and part owner, did a great job making everything, it was just what I was looking for. The waitress was busy little bee, who worked her butt off seating everyone, getting their orders taken and making sure to keep up with everyone's demands. I can't remember the waitresses name, but she has always been a hard worker and does a great job. Kristin Burdey, part owner, waitress and baker...also does a fantastic job on all the pies and deserts, always homemade by her. Not too many other cafe's can say they make an abundance of different pies and other deserts to treat an army. Great staff, great place and great food. Keep up the awesome job Burdey's Cafe

Pleasant. Home town restaurant and busy. There was a wait for our meal. The waitresses was running hard to keep up.. popular place for such a small town.It is located in a tourist area. The meal was excellent, the staff busy and friendly. The menu has some uncommon choices. It is all good.Parking: On street only in a town of 250 souls.

Great food (and lots of it!) for reasonable prices! And you can't beat the service and atmosphere. We came here for breakfast and were set for the day with our bellies full of good food and great coffee. Stop on in, you won't regret it!

You won't be disappointed when you stop at Burdey's. The food is delicious and the staff is very friendly. Kristen was extremely helpful in making choices and my coffee was always full. Don't miss out on the opportunity to try all the amazing pies. If you're in the Peterson area be sure to stop 🙂

Really great food! It was my first time eating there and it did NOT disappoint! I don't like coleslaw or any raw cabbage. I tried a little taste of the coleslaw that came with the fish and I ate every bite. Then a piece of pie had to follow.... very wonderful! My adopted mom is the best cook/baker, hands down.... but this place is a close second! I will return and I recommend trying it if you haven't! And the young man who was our waiter.... outstanding!

This place has the distinction of having the best pie I have ever had. Kind of disappointing that I will probably never really be able to get a pie that good anywhere else, but I’ll be happy to come back here. Great food, great service, in a great little town.Double. The. Stars.

Incredible food, locally sourced as much as possible. For breakfast, I love their Florentine Benedict. The Mama Burdey's Veggie Melt is one of the tastiest, messiest sandwiches you'll ever come across. And any of their desserts is worth saving room for.Just off the bike trail, this place is a stopover on many of my rides.

Burdey's Cafe is amazing! Classic small town restaurant that just has delicious food!! Our group had their cheese curds, fish, shrimp, sweaty gypsy burger, cran-burdey sandwich and banana cream and pb cup pies- all were absolutely delicious! Their homemade tartar sauce is SO GOOD!! The service was fast and very friendly as well! You can tell that everyone loves working there! We will DEFINITELY come back, can't wait to try even more of their menu!

Nice staff & good food. One of the few vegan friendly restaurants on the Root River - so my family appreciated that! We'll definitely stop again if we return to the area.
