We were incredibly disappointed with the cabin that we stayed in. The online photos did not accurately represent the state of this cabin. There were cracks in the doors letting dirt and bugs in, we walked through cobwebs as we entered the door, the kitchen cabinets were peeling, the bathroom was atrocious and there was standing water in the shower, the fireplace was boarded up, and we immediately went to work trying to clean the place up ourselves. It was as if none one had stepped foot in this cabin in months or years. We ended up leaving the same day and booked a hotel instead for cheaper. Luckily, the worker was understanding and gave us a full refund. Would not recommend staying at this establishment.

My extended family group has rented cabins at Wilderness Point Resort for 3 years now and have had a great time every year. Missy in the office is wonderful to work with and the staff was has been very responsive to any requests. Resort area is very clean and the beach and indoor pool/game room/workout area were all a hit. Great fishing. We will look forward to next year for sure.

Great location. We stayed in villa 23. Beautiful place. Nice pool table was a huge bonus. Bring extra bedding if you plan to use all sleeping arrangements because there wasn’t much extra but that is the only negative. Fishing on the lake was great! The pool was perfect for non lame days. The fitness center was as good or better then most hotels. The lake is super clean and quiet. The grounds are kept up extremely well. It would be nice to have more paddle boards to use but they do have one and two kayaks plus canoes. They could upgrade those but still nice to have some. The staff and other families were all fantastic. If you want a great cabin experience with a bigger group I would highly recommend this place, especially if you want to enjoy a quiet clean fish filled lake!

The resort was really nice. They have lots of good amenities like the indoor pool and hot tub, beach, playground, canoes, paddle boats, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The villa we stayed in was pretty nice. The only thing was that the showers were in need of some better cleaning/new curtains and liners. Other than that, everything was great here!

Cabin #7 disgusting the sheets got blood and pee stains on them, bathroom looks gross and the whole cabin just feels gross. Didn’t feel clean in there just gave off gross vibes I didn’t even wanna sleep there. The pools nice tho and the kayaks and beach.Rooms: Super gross and feel disgusting. They just need to demo them and make new ones. They are super old 20+ years old, not level and everything gots stains and are filthy locks on bathrooms don’t work plant’s overgrown on deck a ton of stuff just renovate them pleaseNearby activities: They got a pool and hot tub, kayaks, paddle boards, beach, boats, dock, that’s all nice

1 level above tent camping! The cabins are practically falling apart. We stayed cabin #1 and none of the doors inside shut. And the exterior doors didn’t either. The side door window was boarded up and didn’t even lock. That made me feel safe!! Be sure to bring all the water u will use! The well water smell was so strong that I couldn’t even brush my teeth with it. My family showered at the pool house everyday because otherwise our hair would turn orange. On the other hand, the Villas look amazing! Well kept grounds and very nice! They must be owned by another company! Either way, we will not be returning!

Overall, this is a nice vacation get away destination. Your experience may vary widely depending on the villa or cabin that you're in, as well as the weather. It's not a typical full service resort, but is run with a minimal staff (which could be because of the 2021 labor shortage). As a result, there weren't too many entertainment options. There isn't a restaurant/bar, there's minimal items to rent/borrow, and the "clubhouse" was pretty quiet. My family actually enjoyed this minimalist environment, but it was noticeable that we were really kind of just renting a villa with a shared pool rather than enjoying a resort.

We stayed in cabins 5&6 and cabin 5 smelt like gas upon arrival, the air conditioning doesn’t work and makes smell worse, when using the oven the smoke detector goes off every 2 mins. Cabin 6’s key unlocks cabin 5.Cabin 6 on the other hand doesn’t have locking doors, one of the i does is broken, the fridge was held up by a chew can, there’s a birds nest in the ceiling of one of the rooms, black mold under the kitchen sink, and no hot water. Oh and the power shuts off randomly in 3/4ths of the cabinWe loved the resort last year when we stayed in a villa but hated the cabin. Way over priced for them!

October 20 2017 There were 6 of us renting Wilderness Resort 5 bedroom accommodations. We were more than excited with our stay. Beautiful hardwood floors, fireplace, screened in porch, another porch with a grill, great view of the lake. Amazing kitchen, fully accommodating. King size bed, Queen size beds 3 floors that allowed us to have our own floor and bathrooms. It was exciting to come back to our accommodations at night and feel we didn’t need to be quiet. We could build a fire out side or use the one inside. We are hoping to come back next year. Oh yes, the pool table was a nice touch too

Great place! We stayed in cabin 13. The cabin was beautiful and enough space for 8 adults and 5 kids. Staff is friendly and helpful! We had some loud neighbors one night, then we might have become the loud neighbors the next (sorry!). The beach isn't very large but it does the job. Cute playground right by the beach. Paddle boat rentals were great. Kayak and paddle boat available free of charge. Indoor pool was nice for a rainy day.

We stayed in a villa and It was an amazing place for a weekend getaway with the fam! Things were clean, the cabin looked newish or latley renovated. It had a trail around the perimeter that was long enough for a stroll. Please note that the villas and cabins are different buildings.Things to consider, there was a lot of ladybugs in the building but they didnt bother us. Also the water has a slight iron taste so bring water if you dont like that taste. Other than that everything was great!

We stayed at a villa for 3 nights. The villa was spacious and beautifully decorated. One bedroom upstairs didn’t have a television. We rented a pontoon boat but there was no instructions on how to find the boat. We called the office and a friendly gal told us to go to the beach dock and she would send the maintenance guy to meet us. We called several times as he didn’t show up for 35 minutes. We had several small kids with us. Then he acted annoyed that he had to come meet us and took a phone call in the middle of our conversation. He was very rude and not helpful at all.

I've seen mixed reviews of this place, so I will try to address some of those concerns in this review. If you are looking for seclusion, this is not the place. It's a resort, and there are other people at it. We definitely saw and heard other people. We still had a blast. There is a canoe, a paddleboard and a couple of kayaks available at the sandy beach for guest use, and they were always available when we wanted them. The beach was clean and the kids had a blast playing in the sand. The indoor pool and hot tub and gym were clean and great sizes for smaller kids. The villa was super spacious and had everything we needed (but not more than that - so definitely pack any special equipment or pots or pans). Short drive to downtown Nisswa or Pequot Lakes or Brainerd and their attractions. 4 stars instead of 5 because we did have another group set up a volleyball net RIGHT behind our villa...which is more about guests being inconsiderate than the resort itself...and our laundry unit was in need of repair. Would definitely stay again.

This review is for the villas, not the cabins. Beautiful villas. Amazing beach for the kids. Wonderful to have free use of paddle boats, kayaks and paddle boards. Our 3yo boys love the grounds, playground, fire pits and pool. You definitely get what you pay for here. Top notch resort!

Cabin 9 on the point looks like a great spot for a vacation. Unfortunately the mice wrecked our few nights there. A few droppings the first day in some pots and pans. More and more droppings being found 2nd day. More time we spent in cabin, more we found. The last night we found droppings in the bed, on the kitchen table, the rodents even managed to pull some bread crust out of the trash can. We had become too disgusted to eat dinner at cabin last night, or breakfast before packing up on check out day. The rodent problem must be enormous. We only stayed 3 nights, and it went from oh no, to get me out of here disgusting. The pool was nice and fishing was good. Overall a disgusting experience

So I'm kind of on the fence how I should review this place. The young lady at the front desk was amazing. The cabin itself...I feel like they take liberties with the word rustic. It is more or less just neglect. Shower head was completely clogged due to the hard well water over time, so I just ended up going to the hardware store and replacing it myself. Very dated in the cabins. Overall wasnt a horrible experience just feel like the resort isn't living up to its full potential.

cabins way too close together, your neighbors can hear everything. it's also a way smaller lake, I have no idea why they built this here instead of one of the bigger ones. middle cullen is small, long, and winding, almost like a wide river, and there isn't really space for much boat traffic, which limits the number of people who can safely be tubing or water skiing on the lake. it also means there's always at least one loud bout full of screaming people within earshot, so I wouldn't recommend it if you want peace and quiet either. overall the bigger lakes in the area like gull lake and pelican lake are way better suited to these sorts of resorts and there are a couple, so if you want a relaxing vacation in central MN look at resorts on those lakes.

They seem disorganized. Two visits in a row where we rented a pontoon boat and there was little or no communication about how to pick it up. This time we sat by the dock where we were told to meet the maintenance guy at 10am and there was no one there. We had to call the office a couple times and finally the guy shows up 30 minutes late, unapologetic. Then he took a phone call in the middle talking to us. He did make sure to yell to me not to take his boat out of the lake, and if I damage his boat it would cost me 1500 dollars. If it's your boat bro, take better care of it. The Capt seat is broken and ties over, and the boat is filthy. The cabins are seriously very nice. We love the cabins and the lake but they need to get more organized and be on time.

We had a wonderful time starting in the lakeside cabins. Our dogs were very welcome and the fire pits next to the lake made for a relaxing place to watch our daughter play with the cattails. There is a really nice hike nearby at Fritz Loven Park and supplies from town are just a short drive away. The pool and hot tub was also an excellent place to hang out. I will definitely bring my fishing tackle the next time I come back. Also, if you like beer check out Big Axe brewing, they also have wonderful food.

Staff is very friendly. The location is fantastic for a secluded getaway. They provide free canoe/kayak access and boat rentals. We didn't get to take advantage because of the weather. There's a fire ring outside and fireplace inside that's a real nice touch. The one thing I'd change: the water heater is in the bedroom. Normally wouldn't care but it has a LED that flashes every 3 seconds to let you know it's okay. I just stuck some paper over it to block it out. Still world recommend this place!

my fiance and I just enjoyed a lovely weekend at wilderness point resort. we stayed may 9 and 10 and left on may 11. we loved our stay. we were In cabin 7 and it was beyond what we were expecting.check in was simple and easy, the 2 ladies were lovely. we got to the cabin.and it was so cozy 2 bed 2 bath. kitchen was stocked with utensils and plates. had electric stove top, fridge, coffee maker, toaster, toaster oven and microwave ready to use.the view from.the cabin was to die for. view of middle.cullen lake from the bedroom was the perfect way to start and end the day. we had a bundle of wood awaiting us. we ended up purchasing 2 more bundles at 4$/bundle. enjoyed every second of our stay.we are already trying to find out the next time we can come up!

Perfect vacationing place for families. My wife and I had the 5 bedroom villa and it was more than enough space for us and our 5 children. With 2 stories and a finished basement, calling it huge is an understatement. The layout was perfect and the villa was luxurious. It was very relaxing and hard to leave. This will most certainly become a yearly trip for us!

This is our third year renting a villa and we've enjoyed each stay for the most part. Unfortunately our experience has been a bit dampened this year by some interactions in the pool area with an "owner" who feels the need to police the area. Once we were asked to "throw the ball more courteous" (when a football was passed between two adults) and another time told our 6 & 9 year olds couldn't hang on the rim of the basketball hoop that is designed to hold 500 lbs. Unfortunately, if "owners" feel the need to treat renters differently or make it their mission to police us, we may not be eager to return. The villas themselves have always been very nice.

My family stayed here as a Christmas vacation and we all absolutely loved it! There were ten of us so we were a little concerned with space but there were 3 levels with 5 bedrooms that fit us perfectly. There was also a pool table upstairs and a bar downstairs all for only $350/night. There were plates, glasses, utensils, and even spices which came in handy when we cooked dinner at the villa. We also accidentally locked the keys in one of our cars so we checked out a little late but the staff was very accommodating and even helped us find someone to unlock the car. All of us wish we had reserved a few more days in the villa. We even talked about coming back here next year. Sorry this is a little long but I can't say enough nice things about this place.

Been staying at these resorts for the last 5 or 6 years now and this past year was our last stay. People that own these resorts are getting very greedy and they like to bill your credit card behind your back, so be sure to check your credit card statements to make sure they match up with what you paid. When we called the resort to question about the charges they told us that were being billed for an additional night when the night was given to us. Did it very sneaky, didn't say a word at check in or check out. No email confirmation was sent. Just billed it and hoped that we would not catch it. Your better off finding a nice cabin on Air bnb then booking here. Will not be coming here again.
