This was truly one of the best Mexican restaurant experiences I have had in several years! Very delicious food and quite a wide variety very reasonable prices. Excellent chips and salsa. Totally the finest and freshest ingredients. Very visually appealing and colorful dining space. Staff seem to really care about their food preparation, and if you liked it, and we're constantly checking and doing anything to make your dining experience as pleasurable as possible. I will definitely stop here again, and my only regret is I do not live closer because this would be a regular stop for me. You will not be disappointed!

Authentic Mexican cuisine with the freshest ingredients! I definitely will stop here again. I had three chicken street tacos with a side of beans (homemade, not from a can), my hubby had a ground beef chimichanga. Everything was very tasty! Oh... free chips and salsa!

The crunchy barbacoa tacos (birria) are out of this world! Srsly the best thing I've eaten in awhile. Slow-cooked, fall-apart, beautifully seasoned beef in a nicely fried shell. We got like 10 of them and they came with yummy fixins like gently pickled radishes and roasted hot peppers. We also tried a huarache, torta, enchilada, tamale, and fried ice cream, which were also good - but the birria tacos are what to get here.

Delicious fried tacos and an awesome, very flavorful chicken quesadilla! I am a new believer in the birria for dipping everything in. It even had a huge chunk of roast in the cup which was probably worth $1 on its own. Excellent experience.Edit: The place is looking amazing with a new coat of red paint and seating/flowers out front!Edit edit: Sharing again to give a shout-out for still having the best tacos in town, and the best barbacoa meat! Out of this world crunchy tacos. Thank you amigo!

It is really hard to find better food than this. There is no place in a 100 mile radius that will serve you an authentic Mexican meal like this place. This is the real deal! Prices are extremely reasonable and the owners are really friendly and happy to see you walk in the door. The crunchy barbacoa tacos with consome... You can't find this anywhere but here.

Horrible experience, I walked with my Mexican friend, and she decided to sit at this colorful table. This waiter (Spanish guy) approaches us and asks us if we can seat another small table and my friend toll him we wanted to seat where we was. Ok, we decided to change the table. Then he asked what we wanted to drink and he left. When we walk away from the table 4 white people can and seat the first table. Ok, we noticed that they were served first. And we got angry after we noticed they food too. Is so sad to be discriminated against by your own Raza. Que pena con este restaurante, nos descriminaron.

Will NOT be coming here again. I wouldn't be able to give a review of the food for I asked for a refund after waiting for my food for whoping 45 minutes. I ordered a huarache de asada, 5 tacos de birria, and a piña mango agua fresca which came to a total of $34.36. I only recieved 26 dollars as a refund. I specifically told the person at the till it was a "here" order, and he gave me the #4 to put at the table I was going to sit at. I sat down at my table and about 5 minutes later I recieve the piña mango agua fresca (which i drank) , and shortly after is when the wait began. I had started to get upset and hangry after waiting a whoping 45 minutes for my food while every person that had ordered after me had already recieved their food. I went to the till and told the guy in the front that I still haven't recieved my order, the guy at the till proceeded to ask me why I didn't say anything, and blamed the whole ordeal on being busy (it didn't start getting busy until 20minutes after I had sat down). He opened a bag with 2 boxes and the counter and said that the kitchen made the order to go. I was very upset, asked for my refund and left. The missing 8.36 from my refund was from the ONE piña mango agua fresca. The only thing I would be able to review is the agua fresca. It was not that badAlso do NOT consume the green OR orange salsa they bring to your table after you sit down. Both the bottles of green and orange salsa that was placed at my table smelled rancid and tasted sour and fizzy. I brought both bottles to one of the ladies in the kitchen and she brought both bottles back to me with the excuse of "that's how our salsas are".

Hands down the best Mexican food that I have ever eaten. Food is amazing, service is phenomenal. The owner is extremely friendly and helpful. I normally get the steak nachos without lettuce but I have not had a single bad dish out of everything that I have ordered. If you are looking for exceptional Mexican food tanqueria Chavez is the place you are looking for!
