Overall very pleasant experience, rooms were clean, no weird odors, some rust stains in the bathroom fixtures but I feel it's a common issue. The ice machine was down the whole time we were there and the ice buckets were very small and didn't keep ice for very long.We went for a family wedding and took over the lobby and played multiple card games- very relaxing environmentsRooms: The rooms were nice, very comfortable beds. They do not have a bar in the shower. The bed frames will get your knees!

A hot summer Minnesota wedding brought us to the Lakes Inn at Dunvilla. It is a charming boutique hotel that can stand up to the best of them! The entire building is immaculately cared for with an engaged and friendly staff. Our rooms were fresh and clean and well appointed. There is a welcoming environment when you first walk in with lounge seating. Their free breakfast was wonderful and appreciated. My only point of complaint was the swimming pool. It needed to be treated and badly so. My mother and I wanted to use the hot tub and were thankful that it appeared cleaned and chlorinated. What made it unpleasant was the absolute dead fish stink of the pool next to it. The flooring around the pool needs to be cleaned. While using the shower I noticed bits of broken glass on the tile floor. The floor behind the hot tub was thick with dead bugs and needed to be mopped badly. The pool obviously needed cleaning (why was it so milky!?) Otherwise, everything else about Lakes Inn was enjoyable and exceptional. Thanks for a great stay!Rooms: Clean, comfortable, quiet rooms!Nearby activities: You’ll need a car to get around but it’s close to Pelican Rapids and Vergas which has so much to do!

The pool is very small. The hot tub wasn't hot. There are no tables or chairs to sit. One bench. That's it. Not a very friendly or inviting area. Our room was very nice but there was bug and hair in the bathroom. Breakfast was a mess poor employee was frazzled and there wasn't even milk for the cereal. For the price of the rooms I expected WAY more.

Nice hotel, comfortable and a good atmosphere. Seems clean on the surface but dig a little deeper and it’s not all that clean. Ants all over the bathroom. Carpets need vacuuming.My biggest complaint is the pool area. My daughter was so excited to spend the 4th of July holiday in the indoor pool as it’s gloomy outside. The door is stuck and won’t open! Not locked…just stuck! When we asked the front desk their response was “oh yeah it’s been like that since yesterday and we can’t get it open”. Like…..what…..? Call a repairman!

I stayed here for work. The photos lived up to real life. Very nice, and very comfortable place to stay. It felt like a corporate hotel chain with the amenities, but had a small town/lake vibe. I don't come to this area often but would stay again for sure.Rooms: Large, nice, comfy, quiet.

I had an amazing experience and stay at Lakes Inn of Dunvilla. Every common area and room was superbly clean, furniture and fixtures are all new and pristine, and the rooms are more spacious and nice than what you’ll find at any chain hotels. I can’t stand it when I am staying in an expensive hotel and the elevator walls are all scratched up and the furniture is terribly chipped... There is none of that here! Comfortable, quiet, and in a beautiful, wooded area. There is a locally-famous general store and cafe 1/4 mile away, and there is also an event barn nearby- this is such a perfect wedding venue hotel for you and your guests!You can tell the owners take pride in providing an A+ experience at Lakes Inn of Dunvilla. If you’re traveling to this area or passing through, this is a no-brainer!Rooms: The room was so spacious and clean. The furniture is clearly all new, and the bathroom is equally nice and new. Even little details like the carpet and elevator were so nice!Nearby activities: The General Store and Cornfield Cafe is less than a mile away, and there is a beautiful barn event venue on the adjacent property. Otherwise, it’s trees and rolling hills of farmland!

I absolutely recommend the Lakes Inn at Dunvilla. Nestled firmly in lakes country, this hotel is situated within a few feet of the Otter Tail river and within a mile of multiple lakes. Not only is the scenery is beautiful, the hotel staff have done an incredible job keeping the facility in great shape. Everything looks brand new! The rooms are extremely large, and feature art inspired by the beauty and folklore of the great state of Minnesota!Surprisingly, the hotel features robust breakfast options, including eggs, potatoes, meat, bagels, waffles, cereal and more!Although it is located away from the masses, the Lakeland General store has everything under the sun, and is within walking distance from the hotel (their Cornfield cafe is a hidden gem in the lakes area--I recommend eating breakfast there if you don't eat at the hotel).If you are looking a for a very nice hotel, but want to avoid the hustle and bustle of Detroit Lakes, the Lakes Inn at Dunvilla will not disappoint!

We enjoyed our stay at The Inn at Dunvilla, we traveled with our nieces who loved the pool and hottub and the chicken alfredo pizza for lunch. Beds are new and comfortable, room was easy to control temps in and was close to everywhere we needed to go in the lakes area. Many hotels have pillows that are too big and too fluffy, these ones are great and comfy!

We were in town for a wedding and decided to stay here. When we first got to our room, it looked like it had not been cleaned. When I went and told the guy at the front desk, you could tell he felt so bad and did his best to get the room cleaned and ready for us as quickly as he could. Once it was cleaned, he came back an apologized again and did his best to make it right. Once we were able to get into a clean room, it was very pleasant! The beds were comfortable and the rooms were in great condition. If we ever found ourselves over here again, we would definitely stay at this hotel again!

Our family vacation began here and will be repeated annually. We have 10 and 12-year-old daughters that really enjoyed the pool and hot tub, my wife and I really enjoyed the large room with the Minnesota theme throughout the Inn. We were served omelettes and bacon at our table with Continental favors. A very hospitable staff, a children's reading and activity area as well as a small Reading area on the other end of the hallway, well thought out. It is set up on a hill making it appear as a beacon, with an attractive landscape. Thank you for creating a memorable start to our family vacation, enjoyed by all of us. We will definitely share of your destination with those we know. Thank you again!

Great hotel. Very large clean rooms with comfortable beds. Had a big family reunion at a nearby lake. People came from several states on the east coast, midwest and Europe. All were impressed. Wonderful breakfasts, the kids loved the pool. The bar and the fitness center did not get much activity from the group since we had great weather and everyone was busy with outdoor activities at our family cabin on the lake. Would grade this as similar to a Hampton Inn, but nicer. We will be back!!

Everything about our stay was perfect! The Lakes Inn is a very nice place! The staff are so friendly and happy to help with everything! The rooms are decorated so cute and very clean! The pool is open late, so that's fun! The continental breakfast has everything that you could need. And I love that we could order pizza anytime. I would stay there again for sure!

Best!!!! All the staff is so sweet. The pool was so much fun, was pretty much my family and I the entire time we stayed. The price was very reasonable for the week we stayed as well. Room was sooo spacious an the beds we're great. The room was super clean! The house keepers were amazing girls especially Lexi 😁 definitely first choice next time we come visit family again!!!!

The staff was very sweet, rooms were beautiful and super clean, and having a long breakfast time-frame was incredible. The only complaint I have for the rooms is that if you want the curtains to actually close fully it will block the AC unit and it gets warm quickly. Overall it was absolutely worth the affordable price and I would absolutely book again if I was in the area.

We stayed at the Inn for a high school class reunion. It was great! Our room was spacious and nice. The common area held 50+ people and didn't seem overcrowded - it even held a 3 person band! Other people used the pool and hot tub.If the pool is a big part of your stay, know that it's salt water and on the very small side.

Cute hotel! Very clean and updated. Large shower, comfortable bed and pillows, kuerig coffee maker in room. Free breakfast. Pool and hot tub. Only 5 miles to a wedding venue (Milt’s barn) that we went to for a wedding. Also close to Maplewood State Park for beautiful hiking and picnicking.

This place was an unexpected Jem. I highly recommend you stay with the folks at Dunvilla if you in the area. The room was so clean the shower had amazing pressure. The bed were super soft and comfortable they gave me a corporate discount as I was traveling for work. They do great breakfast in the morning it was definetly a 5 star experience. When I'm in the area I will be staying with them from now on. Thanks for the great night Dunvilla.

Very clean. I was a stranded motorist with I-94 being closed in all directions. Just needed a place other than freezing in my car. The owner more than delivered. Cooked me a pizza and I was able to stay warm in my very generous accommodations. I was very humbled and amazed by the hotel and owner.In fact I will be booking them again when I come out to the Midwest again this summer.JoelMontana
