A very enjoyable experience in Pelican Rapids, Minnesota. They have order at the counter / table service, root beer on tap in frosty frozen mugs & fabulous pizza with the best cheese & toppings.

We liked the pizza (because we were quite hungry?), dived right in! Could have finished the large in one sitting.It's cut into squares, and that is style I grew up with in Northeast Mpls. But I'll eat a good pizza cut in any fashion.Dined in Friday May 27. Moderately busy for onsite dining, very busy for carryout orders. There is outside dining as well. Menu is posted on the shield, order/pay at the register. Wasn't sure if we were to bus our own table or not, no wait staff, focus is on order taking and making food.We did wait 45 minutes for our order, but I would do it again. And again. 1919 Root Beer on tap or in a can.

This place is locally owned and has exceptional service. The pizza is out of this world good. They even cut it into squares for the kids! The beer selection is top notch and is for the aspiring beer connoisseur. Definitely worrh the trip from Baltimore,MD!

Ok, 4 strikes and I'm done trying to eat here. In the past I've called on 3 different occasions to place a to go order and they didn't answer the phone after multiple times trying to call just incase they were busy... never an answer. Kind of odd for a place that advertises "delivery and take out". With this being said, I was happily surprised tonight when someone actually answered the phone on the first try, but the happiness was short lived when I placed my order for chicken and was told, "we're not making chicken tonight". Ummm, excuse me, aren't you a chicken and pizza restaurant?? I'm done trying with this place!!

My fiance and I have made a hobby out of traveling to different places and trying different pizza, and rating/comparing them all based upon previous places we've tried. This is Without question THE BEST PIZZA WE HAVE EVER HAD!!!!!! And the staff is amazing as well. This place should franchise. Seriously... We drive 27 miles one way to get pizza here...

They should really change the name to " Big John's Pizza & Chicken" because although the Pizza is great the Broasted Chicken is the best I've ever had in my 62 years on earth. I'm happy we just moved here so I can enjoy their food more often.

Sauce and cheese were amazing! Pizza crust was great! We had 5 different menu items and everything had it's own charm and taste. We came from Fargo just to try out Big John's Pelican Pizza and we were not disappointed and so very pleased! Owner and his wife were very nice people and you can tell they care about their restaurant!

Gluten free pizza game on point. Fresh cheese. Sweet sauce. Thin gluten free crunchy crust. Fairly priced. Think we paid like $24 for a large pizza, large potato wedges(also fresh and interesting...) And small salad. The wait was a bit long, but they seemed slammed. Great pizza place after a day at Maplewood.

Quality of pizza is a little inconsistent. Ate pizza in house last weekend, it was Wonderful! Ordered 2 pizza's to go last night, they were dry, almost no sauce, and skimpy on the cheese compared to the weekend before, didn't even seem like the same pizza we had eaten the weekend before. Crust is awesome! We will continue to support this local business, but, hope consistency improves a little.

This is a great little local place. It is a fantastic locally owned, establishment. The pizza was good and they have a nice selection of locally brewed beer. They continue to expand with more selections, Along with making continued updates in improving the décor. It is practically a new building with all of the work they've put into it. We had the Deluxe pizza with a few different local brews. The service was excellent and even the owner came out and chatted with us for a while. I will certainly be back!

Decided last minute to stop as we were wasting time before a basketball game. The food was delicious, great service, the gal waiting on us was very friendly and accommodating. Will stop again if we’re ever in the area! Glad we stopped!

Good pizza. We drive through here at least 4 to 5 times a year and usally stop. Service is fast. Had some Moose Drool brown ale that was tasty.

This business is open until 8 o’clock and they deliver their menu. I called at 7:30 PM today to order a pizza as I am from out of town and staying in the local motel. When trying to order a pizza I was told they stopped doing deliveries 20 minutes prior to my call. Their website and the advertising in my hotel room should state that deliveries are no longer available in an hour prior to closing. After a very long day and very hungry I am extremely disappointed. What a joke!

Don't want to knock small business, but after a couple pizzas we might not be back again. The price to flavor ratio isn't quite there. I would rate this somewhere between Papa Murphy's and Casey's.

Id give it 5 stars the pizza is phenomenal but it took over an hour to get our pizza and they were not busy. Having said that waiting that long wouldn't keep me away the pie was GREAT!

Great nachos, great taco pizza, garlic bread is excellent and the bone in teryaki wings were the best I've ever had! Along with good service we will return own business to them!
