The place smells so horrible, animals were stacked in tiny cages stressed out so badly. Birds were stressed flying back and forth in their small cages, hitting the cage walls. A bird was loose and he was like yeah I know I'll get it later. Rabbits and guinea pigs had ZERO hay which is crucial for their diet. Rats were crammed together in dirty 6 inch by 10 inch cages, no hiding spots, and one had babies that she was protecting with her life. The water dishes were full of bedding and feces. The guy doesn't seem like he knows anything about animals because he doesn't even know what breed rabbit he had there and lied about what breed they were.

I filed a report and spoke with animal control with my concerns about this pet store. Animal Control is WELL aware of this store and have been there multiple times to speak with the owner. According to Animal Control, the best thing we can do is to confront and ask the owner about the horrible conditions and make the public aware of these poor conditions.This is the saddest, smelliest and dirtiest pet store one could ever walk into. The poor puppies were in a kennel full of shredded paper and their water and food dishes were full of shredded paper. I wish they’d all get bought so they can get out of their poor conditions, buy they’ll just breed more and try to sell more. As someone who has both adopted and fostered dogs, I literally was depressed after leaving this place.

Good selection of animals, in fact better than the stores in Rochester. He will custom order items for you too. Owner is really nice. My only complaint is that the habitats needed some TLC.

If you want to get depressed, just walk into this store and see the poor puppies that have shredded paper in their water and food and have no energy and look sick. You will leave depressed and have the urge to buy all the puppies, so they can get out of that dump. Honestly the worst pet store I have ever been in.

Absolutely the most disgusting pet store or any store for that matter that I've ever seen. There's more dust on the shelves than there are items. Dead fish floating in tanks water is disgusting. Floor needs to be vacuumed. I could go on for days. I feel absolutely sorry for every fish and animal in there. I would think the humane society or somebody should shut this place down. 100% animal abuse it's just not right

The animals seem like they are given the best individual care they can receive. The reptiles are so nice and plump, they seem very healthy from a third person standpoint. The amount of different fish is amazing! Definitely coming back there when I set up my fish tank!

There are word of mouth that this pet store sells "teddybear yorkies." I bought a "teddybear yorkie" puppy last year in May. As she got older, her looks mature and is definitely not a teddybear yorkie. You can definitely distinguish between a Yorkie and shih tzu. The puppy is definitely a shih tzu. Did some DNA testing, turns out she is a shih tzu mix with Maltese. Very misleading advertising. How can you take better care of your puppy if you don't know the exact breed that it is. Never buying from here.When I took her to her first vet visit, she has ear mites. The vet is familiar with the pet store. Beware and don't purchase from this pet store.

Bought my granddaughter 4 fish on Saturday For 60.00. The next Friday one died. Went in to complain and was told fish only are guaranteed for 3 days and you have to bring in the dead fish and a sample of the water. This is the first time I have ever bought fish but 3 days for a 15.00 fish seems pretty short.

Great prices, decent selection. Will find an animal you're looking for if he doesn't have it. Cheapest around by far! The new owner really has worked hard to rebuild the store up after the old owners gave the place a bad reputation. He legit cares for his animals as well as his customers. You dont find customer service like you do here anywhere else.

I live in Hampton Iowa (25 mIles south of Mason City). I stumbled upon this store while passing through. The store could use a little organizing and there was some dust on the shelves, but all in all, it is a clean store. The cages the puppies and birds are in were clean and I did not smell any offensive odors. The 2 angel fish that I purchased are good quality and healthy. The prices are very reasonable. The staff that waited on me was professional, knowledgeable, and courteous. I will not hesitate to visit again.

The guy was very nice and helpful but the reason i am giving it such a low rating is because of the condition of the store and how the temp was overly hot . the animals (especially the rats) were passed out from the heat . the rats were picking on the others and there was so many babies i felt terrible for the littles in that heat . but i did buy 2 rats and 4 mice and they all seem healthy . the shop could use a good scrub and restock tho.

The owner, Jeremy is good to me. He does everything he can to meet my saltwater aquarium needs. He was down to 1 saltwater tank, and asked him to set another one up. And he did!!!He has a nice variety of fresh water fish, various lizards, birds, and puppy's.

When my bf and I visit new cities we like to check out pet stores...the first thing I noticed when i walked in was the stench. We almost thought it wasn’t open because the shelves that we could see from outside looked bare. The animals were all sleeping, a lot of them had no food. The pet supplies were at least ten years old or older.

I absolutely love this pet store. The owner is very helpful and the store has a great layout. The fish i have bought from here lasted me several years. I was able to find everything i needed fairly quickly.

I love this pet store so much . We have got all our puppies from here and they’re healthy as can be :) the guy is super nice and always has time for us when we come in ! . Animals are always fed and well taken care of which is a nice thing ! All around I could go here every day !

Nastiest store I've ever been in, and the neglect and poor treatment of animals is absolutely terrible. Especially with rodents, the owners are abusive and mean to the pets. I asked one of the people working there if I could hold a puppy and when he opened the cage they all stopped trying to greet me and cowered in the corner, terrified of him. I've also seen several dead reptiles in the back because they're completely ignored and nobody checks on them in the dark corner they're put in. The store should be shut down 0/10

Absolutely pathetic excuse for a pet store. Everything in the store needs too be cleaned. Nasty aquariums, horrible ammonia smell. Kid is too busy on his phone to do anything. Poor animals. THIS PLACE SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!!.

This place was beyond gross. I could go on and on about how bad it was in there. Absolutely heartbreaking to anyone that actually knows anything about animals, and cares about proper care of pets. So many sick animals and the place smelled like ammonia and feces. One of the puppies was clearly ill and when I mentioned that to the owner he denied it and played it off like it was just fine. I strongly encourage anyone that is thinking of buying any pet from here to refrain from doing so. Bottom line, this place needs to be shut down.

This place is filthy. Upon entering the store it smells bad. A quick look around and you can see empty shelves, and stuff literally covered in dust and cobwebs.There are fish in tanks way to small to house what they have in them. One tank had a pleco, and several other large fish in it. The tank is clearly too small for the amount of fish and the bioload on that tank.They only reason to buy anything here would be to buy all the animals to give them better conditions to live in. I will note that I did not see any visible ich or other diseases, just really abhorrent conditions.As much as I love to support local and small businesses, go to PetCo or PetSmart. Or better yet, drive to Mankato and go to PetExpo.

I bought a female cichlid (fish) from this store and it was infested with parasites. Now I have to treat my entire 125 gallon tank for them and hope that the rest of my fish don’t end up with them too. This is suuuuper frustrating as I’ve spent well over 2k on my tank and fish and have put so much into them. As a business, all your fish should be treated BEFORE you sell them. Don’t buy fish here.

This place needs to be shut down. I have seen dead and very sick animals there. Nearly all of the animals have no food or water. Their cages are filled with piles and piles of poop. I nearly cried seeing how sad and sick these animals were... And at unbelievably high prices. I wish someone would come and rescue these animals and shut this place down. The employees are very sweet but have no knowledge of heart for these poor animals.

this store is run by some of the nicest people around. very helpful and they do their best to keep all the customers that go in there happy. the store is also going through a slight remodeling and they are stocking more pet supplies than before. im in there atleast once a week and would rather go there for than the petsmart a few miles away

Owner accused me of stealing a tourtise after I helped get it on its feet. Poor thing was stuck on its shell and the cage was open. I reached in and set it straight and went to the thrift store next door. Came out and he was standing there accussing me of stealing the poor sick looking tourtise I helped out. I have spent over a thousand dollars at this place and am there almost every week. They dont even seem to remember me even though it's the same 2 people everytime. They lost a customer today.
