We go here now and could not be happier.We used to go to a place off of Bass Lake and Fish lake road. Those other guys were great with our little puppy when we got her, but not with my adopted “special” dog during covid with his anxiety and fearfulness and all the changing pieces in his life.Now we have been going here for three years now and THEY CARE! And it shows! ☺️ My pup and I love them! They’re patient , and we’ve had nothing but great service for my now big 85 lb hyper poodledor (labradoodle). They seem to like him and he goes with them willingly when they take him back. They worked with us during covid to provide a comfortable setting for my anxious pup when we adopted him. He was “special” and needed a little extra care at the time. Somewhat expensive per my mom, but I will pay anything for my dog to be treated the way he is here, and for me to be comfortable knowing I can bring him in and they will work with us. I will stay with them for my dogs services and my peace of mind and comfort. Everyone is so friendly, kind, helpful and supportive. They have my 5 stars.I’ve included a few pics. The last one is him when we first adopted him, you can see his trauma from his previous situation prior to being fostered and loved in Texas. Fast forward I have a happy dog in all of the other pictures, and the first one is at his second appointment being his happy self after we got him in the door and he realized how much he didn’t mind coming in.

Great staff! My dog loves coming here. I know she's in great hands no matter if she's there for a wellness visit or when she's feeling sick.Our rabbits don't enjoy going anywhere 😆 but I know they're in good hands at Douglas Animal Hospital. My old man bun (10 years) needed some tests and the staff made sure nothing was causing him too much stress. 💓 I trust this vet with all our furry family members.

Recently moved up to the area and was referred by my last vet to this vet. The staff is super friendly and kind, and helped find out what was wrong with my cats ears. Now with the treatment prescribe she is feeling and looking much better!

We recently moved into the area and immediately were frequent fliers due to our dogs chronic issues that were flaring up at the time of our move. Everyone at the clinic has been so wonderful and helpful, and our dog has seen so much improvement.Besides that, while he used to have a great deal of fear of the vet he’s done a total 180 and is so comfortable coming here. I had to share this photo, we were walking nearby one evening after closing time and he DRAGGED me across the street and stood outside wanting to go in and refusing to move. Never thought he’d actually want to go to the vet!Friendly, always helpful, and most importantly my dog LOVES them, so that’s 5 stars in my book!

Taken Advantage Of!!! Wow, I don't think I've ever been taken advantage of like this before! We were quoted a number for our Labrador's Spay procedure - the UPFRONT was more than the top end quote!! THEN when we had to schedule our own follow-up to have the staples pulled, they charged us another Several Hundred Dollars!! We've had many dogs, this was more than Twice what I have Ever Paid .... worst part, it wasn't disclosed! When we dropped her off, we were going to pay for it all upfront. The front desk gal told us, 'Oh, it probably won't even be the low quote number, just wait until you pick her up to pay.' NOPE!! it was more than the higher quoted number ... and then Several Hundred More at the Follow-up!!!! To be fair, we have brought in a bunny, and they did very well with him, still expensive though! and with our Lab, they did good. Not Great, and certainly not worth OVER $1,000.00!!! Wow!

After 7 office visits, one surgery and $1600 in bills, we have to take our pet somewhere else to get treatment. The staff was friendly and very nice but that doesn't make up for the pain and suffering our pet has been through not to mention the expense of finding a new vet to pick up the pieces.

After multiple, unsuccessful vet Appointments for an odd problem my cat was having, I decided to take her to Douglas for a second opinion. They identified the problem on the first visit, treated her and offered Proactive options to stop the issue from happening again. I now bring all seven of my furbabies to Douglas Animal Hospital and recommend this practice to anyone looking for vet care. Every single person who works at this clinic demonstrates their love for animals in Everything they do. They make time to listen to the concerned ramblings of worried pet parents no matter how busy they are. If I could read them higher than five stars … I would!

Everyone at this hospital has always been so attentive and helpful for my two cats!! I’ve been coming here for years and honestly wouldn’t take them somewhere else. Compared to the old clinic I used to go to, this hospital has fair pricing and is very honest with me. I have used them for boarding in the past also and have never had a problem. When my kitten ate too much catnip, they were able to give her a couple allergy shots that made her stop drooling (she had been drooling for 12 hours). I love this animal hospital and the people that work here are so sweet!!

Update: Still very happy here. They helped my cat live to age 19 despite his diabetes. The compassion they showed at the news of his passing was really touching. Shortly thereafter, we ended up (unplanned) taking in a new kitten who needed a home, so he is Dr. Douglas' newest patient. He came home from his neutering almost acting like nothing happened. Skilled work.Older review:We've always been happy there. Been taking our dog and diabetic cat there for years, and have always gotten top notch treatment for a reasonable cost.

My dog had extreme fear of the veterinarian and I was looking for someone who would do house calls. Dr. Douglas offers that service and was calm and gentle with my Lucy. This was really the only way that I was able to have her vaccinated or treated. When Lucy was at the end of life Dr. Douglas was again able to help us at home. Her calm and kind demeanor was comforting for the whole family and Lucy was at home where we wanted her. Highly recommended.

This clinic is very willing to take new clients and is available for emergency appointments, but that’s where the good graces end. They are not attentive to the needs of the pets. For example we brought in a new puppy who was experiencing intestinal problems. As a “new client” the pup required a wellness check before being treated for his ailments. They assured us that they “do everything” in the wellness check. However, the day after this appointment we noticed the dog itching its ears. When we cleaned his ears ourself we found that they were dirty and got concerned about a possible infection. We called Douglas Animal Hospital to inquire, asking “what did you find when you swabbed the puppy’s ears?” only to learn that they had not even done this.A year ago we had brought another dog here to be treated for a serious ear infection and never even received a follow up call to see how the tiny pup was responding to treatment.This clinic will accommodate you in order to get you in, but its lack of attention will do little to keep you.

Rude vet! Incompetent staff. I would never suggest for anyone to ever go here! The manager is nice, but the staff is completely clueless on what to do. When called about a concern about my pet the vet that I spoke to was rude, unfriendly, and the notes that the vet wrote down about our conversation were completely inaccurate! When we also had brought our pets in they were not the friendliest with our cat or did not know how to properly do an exam on our new puppy. DO NOT GO HERE EVER!! It is also very expensive and you do not get what your money pays for here. What you pay for is a staff with no knowledge on how to treat pets.

Dr. Douglas and her staff has been the only place we feel completely comfortable taking our animals. Our experience with them has always been one of a very caring atmosphere. Douglas Hospital is a wonderful place! We have been taking our cats and dog there for many many years. The staff is polite and knowledgeable. The care is incredible, and Dr. Douglas is a caring and very smart vet that also keeps costs in mind, and makes sure that we are fully informed about our pets' care. I can't recommend Douglas Animal Hospital highly enough! Don't know who Aaron is but that sounds made up...

When I need a second opinion or I need special attention for my pets I always choose Douglas Animal Hospital. The Dr. is very thorough in her exam and provides all options. She truly cares for the animals. It is very helpful that they offer Care Credit because it is often a very expensive visit, but it's always worth it!

Dr Douglas is one of the kindest vets we've ever used. She came to our home to care for my cat who was too ill to travel, it was the end of life for him and she was kind, careful and humane. When I went to the clinic to pick up the cremains, everyone was very respectful and expressed their condolences.

I was there one time and I won’t be back. I came to my appointment on time, 20 minutes later they came and got our new puppy. I thought it was time for her to be seen, nope I guess she sat in a cage for an extra hour and a half. I asked why it was taking so long, she said there were 2 other people that came in that needed emergency shots , they said they’ll get to our puppy soon as possible. I live 3 blocks away from them and they never came and told us anything or that we could come back in while cause it was taking so long. Me and my daughter sat in the car for over an hour and a half watching people come and go. I get there are emergency’s and some pets need to be seen right away. But not giving us a heads up or an update at all is crazy. One lady was coming in and out all the time, she had time to tell us. And then when we left they gave us no paperwork and didn’t check off what they did for our dog or the paperwork back that we gave them. Honestly I think there just to busy to make sure all things are taken care of.

Heather and everyone at Douglas Animal Hospital does a fantastic job of taking care of my pup, who is now 14 years old. No matter the bizarre health issue he has had in the past 2 years, they figure out what to do and get him healthy again while also monitoring chronic conditions. This is the second time that I have had the worst follow through care conducted on a Wellness Exam for a puppy. I have never been provided the care and service needed and expected and when hit with such outrageous costs upwards to $300. The lip service and the run around is always theirs case. I had called back to ask "what did you find when you swabbed my pets ears during his wellness exam?" And was told, We didn't exam your dogs ears. I asked, "what is a wellness Exam Kim? Kim stated that it's when we check everything. I said, then what did you do? Listen community folks run far away from this place! Believe the BAD REVIEWS! Your being taken for your MONEY only! I hope that any fur parents please DO NOT intrust your family loved pets with this clinic. They operate as such Just A Clinic and not a family neighborhood veterinary that would go outside of their way to swab a dogs ears when its a puppy wellness exam and a puppy who is displaying already sick. Care about the dogs who come in to visit you that deserve their humanitarian advocate. Your horrible! People your expectations of Douglas Animal Veterinary will automatically DISSAPOINT YOU.

Three years ago, I brought my dog Zeus to Dr. Douglas because he had a bad ear infection in both ears. I had brought Zeus to two other Vet offices and they both gave him the same treatment; needless to say these treatments didn't fix the problem and his ear infection worsened. So, I brought Zeus to Dr. Douglas in hopes that she could fix his ears. Dr. Douglas and her team were very friendly and took time to get to know Zeus’s story and the past treatments that had been done to his ears. She then came up with her own way to treat the problem and it worked! Finally! Dr. Douglas is very kind and is not a 'one size fits all' Dr., she looks at each case differently and will do whatever it takes to get the problem solved. Zeus is now a very happy dog and no longer cries when I pet him or shakes his head constantly because his ears hurt. This past year, Zeus ruptured both of his anal glands. Again, she quickly fixed the problem and Zeus returned to his normal self. I have never felt so sure of a veterinarian before now and will be a lifelong customer of Dr. D’s.
