Food was put together sloppy. It was to oily. The fries were not crispy at all but were covered in alot of oil. Paid for Xtra hot fudge on my hot fudge Sunday and didn't get it. The ice cream sandwich was so hard like it has been sitting in the freezer for days. The employee spent more time laughing and joking then actually caring about the customer and their orders. The ice cream was off. It didn't taste like vanilla. You would think for a place that charges for every thing separate you would get great quality of food but it was a waste of the $80. I spent. I will not be returning any time soon and will stop telling all my friends and family about this place. It's not worth the hype any more.I should of taken pictures but was to upset to think about that.

Excellent place for soft serve ice cream dishes of every variety. I enjoyed a big fat strawberry shake. It was delicious and so thick that I needed to eat it with a spoon.

The tip top is an iconic ice cream stop for small town America. Complete with a walk up window for ordering it’s a must in the summer. We’ve been going since I was a kid and I brought my toddler there this weekend! The excitement for ice cream, slushees and cyclones never goes away. Ages 2-80 we’re enjoying their afternoon amongst us. Friendly staff, delicious treats and great prices!

I love this little ice cream stop! It’s classic, fast, and delicious. The food here is also very good! It’s always busy, but the staff are friendly and make sure you get your order quickly. I’ve never had anything bad here! Stopping at Tip Top is always one of the best parts about driving up to our cabin.

Good place to stop for ice cream on the way to/or from the cabin. Shakes and cyclones are good. If you want banana, ask for the real thing. Otherwise you will get banana flavored syrup.

We get to osakis a couple time thru the summer, but the Dairy Bar has become a 'must stop' for us on every trip.. The place seems always busy but they move along pretty fast.. Help is on the ball and there's plenty of different ways to have the ice cream.. If you're in the area give it a try!!!

This little ice cream stand is wonderful Their ice cream prices are beautifu they arel A LOT lower than DQ, however the food prices are higher.my granddaughter ordered chicken strips.... They looked more like chicken breast pattiesThe French fries are the best I've had from a fast food establishment.The kids size cone is bigger than a DQ small cone and quite a bit cheaper.They even have butterscotch dipped cones which DQ no longer carries.Once you've tried the Tip Top you'll think DQ is for amateurs.

Update: Much improved experience (Aug 2022) - revising my review.I posted a pretty scathing review back in April after this place opened to new management. I was pretty unhappy with multiple things about the experience, which was especially bad contrasted with my good experiences the prior year.As I promised, I did go back last weekend to give them another chance. I'm happy to report that most of the things I previously griped about had been fixed. The burgers were actually good, juicy and not over done. They made the Cowboy Up burger like I remembered from the past. Service was better. They weren't out of ketchup in the dining room this time.Unfortunately I have noticed others have posted much more recent reviews that show some are still having bad experiences. However, for what it's worth, they earned a return visit from me this time.

I completely agree with the other posts - the food & treats have definitely changed for the worst. My husband loved the shrimp basket and ordered it this year it was changed to popcorn shrimp and not good. I ordered a pizza burger last weekend along with a corn dog - I now have to pay EXTRA for marinara ! How can they call a burger that is just burger with cheese a pizza burger? Corn dog was way over cooked.Went there yesterday to get ice cream. My husband always gets the twist cone dipped in chocolate. The previous staff knew that you had to place the cone in the freezer for a little bit before dipping into warm chocolate. This crew didn't. Ice cream was melting through the chocolate even before they handed it to me.So, all summed up: food not as good, treats not as good, staff not as friendly 😔Look at the dates of the reviews. Majority of favorable reviews are for the previous owners. New owners took over in 04.2022.

What a gem!! Stumbled upon this blast from the past yesterday. Clean and very well maintained walk up 50’s style summer soft serve “bar” also offering burgers, dogs and more. It’s worth a jaunt off I94 at Osaka’s, MN for a trip into the past. They even still serve the hard to find vanilla AND chocolate twist cone!Stop by soon as they close for the season at the end of September.

When you want great ice cream and a burger, this is an excellent choice. It's worth the short drive from the interstate. Highly recommend. I had a malt and bacon cheeseburger - both were delicious.

Excellent, old school soft serve, with a variety of offerings - I love that they also offer a Sloppy Joe. The banana pudding cyclone is incredible. Definitely worth a stop!

Tip Top used to always be a staple by our cabin that we always enjoyed through out the summer. Unfortunately they have new owners and it is no longer a good place to go. Had 2 different family members go this summer and both complained that they were told they couldn’t have their ice cream the way they wanted and that staff was rude when they ordered a staple they’ve been able to get there for the last 10 years. Haven’t tried the food yet this summer, but don’t think I will be from the sounds of other reviews.

Well, once again, I had the awesome experience to go with my cousin and her husband who introduced us to Tip Top several years ago. Once again, we were not disappointed. Tip Top were very accommodating to my wishes. They custom made a cyclone for me which was not on the usual menu... a Byron Banana Blueberry Cyclone! Thank you! It was delicious and now I know that next time I can have any Cyclone made to my desire.

Food is amazing. The ice cream is great. Always double check your custom ice cream order though. Seating is limited inside. It is always crowded. Do not expect to find this place slow on the weekends. I recommend any of their burgers with a grasshopper. Best combo ever.

Of course this place is awesome, it was voted #1 as Minnesota's best ice cream place! The food is also pretty spectacular as well. Great food takes time though, this is no McDonald's. Tip Top is only open seasonally, and is locally owned and operated with that good ole small town service and atmosphere. Its worth the visit, but make sure to bring some patience 😊
