We stayed in the campground. Very well managed resort and a family atmosphere. They even borrow out their paddle boats, toys for kids on the beach, life jackets, dvds in case of a rainy day - at no extra charge! All on an honor system. The staff is so friendly and the main lodge has billiards, foosball, plenty of ice cream flavors! You rarely find a place like this anymore and when you do, you cherish it! Highly recommend!

We had a wonderful week at The Wilds! The cabin was perfectly clean, in good repair and well stocked with necessities. We rented a pontoon with it and really enjoyed being on the lake, bonfires, etc. Kelly and Dan deliver wood, have great Lodge amenities and generally a top notch resort. Highly recommend this destination for a central MN beautiful week and experience.

This is a beautiful place on the lake it was quiet and people were friendly and they have a nice little store with a generous selection of ice cream... my favorite.

Very friendly owners. Beautiful resort tucked back in the woods, very well kept lawn, beach, and buildings. Nice little shop to buy bait, ice, candy, blue bunny ice cream, and apparel and much more.Awesome swimming area for kids of all ages, especially my 3 yr old. Walk-in sandy beach, kayaks, paddle boards, and paddle boat. Resort has its own private concrete boat access for big or small boats.The best part of our stay was how friendly everyone at the resort was.... didn’t fish much but did catch a 20” walleye. All around perfect place to stay. Can’t wait to bring our family again and again!!

I have been a "winter tenant" at The Wilds Resort for the past 4-1/2 months. After 12 years in the Southwest, I had decided to return to MN. Upon arrival, however, I discovered that my planned housing arrangement was not going to work out. I needed an instant miracle, and in a cozy and charming cabin in a serene and beautiful setting on Shell Lake, I found just that. The new owners, Dan & Kellie Francis, could not be any nicer, friendlier, or more accommodating! Warm and welcoming from the start, they were focused on making sure I was comfortable, and they have taken care of my needs beyond any expectations I could have imagined. I highly recommend The Wilds Resort to anyone wanting an outstanding experience in an outstanding setting with outstanding people!

This place was so comfy! Beautiful inside and out! Clean and inviting! I could have stayed forever! My only complaint was the weather. No reflection on the resort though. Good times!
