Great place to stay. Clean, updated rooms and bathrooms. Staff was friendly, and the continental breakfast was very good plus had a wide variety. Would recommend anyone to stay there, and I know we will again. Great thing for fisherman is the free fish cleaning shack access by Artie's bait store!Rooms: Spacious and clean

We stayed at the Econo Lodge on Friday, November 24th. We checked in at around 5 pm. We called ahead of time (called place at 4:28pm) to ask if dogs were able to stay. We were told yes. We stated we had 2 labs and wanted a 1 bed king. She stated that for the room and 2 dogs, it was going to be $126.56. On Sunday evening, we had another charge on our banking statement for $60. I called Monday morning and asked why another charge was added. The gal over the phone stated it's because we had a dog and didn't notify them. So they added that charge since we had brought dogs without notifying them. We walked in and out of the front door multiple times to let them out to go potty. Multiple employees saw our dogs. We were not hiding that we had them since we stated we had them in the beginning and paid for them to stay. I even left a thank you note in the room. Stripped the bed and pillows for the cleaning gal. Made sure everything was picked up and an easy clean. Im VERY disappointed and will be letting other hunters know about this. We were told by locals not to go here, and now we wish we wouldn't have.Noteworthy details: Lying and stated we didn't notify them about our dogs and charged us extra money.

Stayed here during Cornfest, and I couldn’t be more happy with my experience. I checked in late after talking with friends down by lake, and the door was locked and nobody at the front desk. I picked up the phone and somebody answered and gave me simple directions to get into my room. It was pretty slick. Very clean hotel, the beds were comfortable, staff was super friendly and helpful. The owners of this hotel have done a great job and is great for the community. Thanks again!!

It's under new management so they've done a great job remodeling the interior. Rooms are cozy & inviting, lobby/breakfast area/vending area were also updated. Their hot menu for the week is listed so you know what to expect, plus waffles, fruit etc which was good. Front desk staff were friendly and knowledgeable. The only cons of my stay were; parking lot was a skating rink and shower pressure was a little low. Otherwise my stay was great overall. If I ever came back to the area, I'd stay again.

This was a planned stop on my route to SD. Not disappointed in any way. Plenty of truck parking. Very clean, well kept hotel. Room is clean, smells good. Very nice and welcoming staff. I would like to add, the hotel is under new ownership and it shows. Very nicely landscaped and on another note, the owner had made signs for each guest letting us know of the dangerous weather and the action plan that was in place. That's looking out for your guests. Great job!!!!

Hello All! I am the new owner as of February 2022! We are doing tons of renovations and have already put all new beds in all rooms! We have added a hot breakfast and even offer pizzas and ice cream at night! Our newly expanded boat parking area will be done soon as well as all new furniture in the hotel! Every single staff that seen me the following morning greeting me with a smile and a "chipper goodmorning". The rooms were very clean and some getting renovations and updates. The parking lot is also ver accomadating for boats with ample outside lighting and plug ins. The new management is doing a great job and so is the staff. Thank you!

Needs a good cleaning. Needs some repair. Comfortable beds. Manager actually went to our room to clean, oil hinges and fix our tv. She was excellant. Breakfast does not meet other motels for selection. We will go back next year.

A Handicapped room was available. Was very comfortable and cozy. Continental breakfast was pretty good. Bagel with cream cheese, yogurt, coffee and cranberry juice was so good. Will stay again sometime.

Great place to stay if you are traveling with your dog. Make sure to ask for a ground floor room, there is no elevator. The rooms are outdated in decor, but very clean. Room 112 is especially spacious.

Disappointed in my recent stay here. While the room was clean and comfortable, they were not following their advertised COVID-19 protocols (signage indicated masks were required, however no staff wore them during my interactions with them.) The wi-fi also was non-functional during my stay, and talking with the staff it sounds like it's been intermittent for a while. The breakfast was also quite mediocre - some bags with a small box of cereal and a granola bar, with 1% milk and Capri-Sun 100% Juice Fruit Punch in the fridge. No easy way to see what was in the bags, so it was a gamble as to what cereal and granola bar you got.

It's fine but my sink didn't work. The stopper was stuck so it dripped all night and I had to catch water with the ice bucket. Told the front desk and she blew me off. I was not looking for money back but she could have cared less that I used the bath tub as a sink. So that part not good.

The Lodge is on 75, on the north side of Ortonville... As you enter the building you find the small dining room - office just inside the doors....the floors are carpeted with a welcoming browns and comfortable. Our room, on this visit is off the stairway landing...with bum knees the multiple steps were uncomfortable....the rooms are adequate but with only 1 chair per room...The shower is luxurious with soft water from a multi speed shower head..so relaxing after a hot July day...my grandson was looking for objects ...found a popsicle stick under our bed and a coin....I just washed my hands and was horrified by the wretched smell coming from the sink..water or drain idk....the lodge is under new management and has updated some amenities...the Continental breakfast returned with waffles, cold - hot cereal, beverages, etc....this place has greatly improved ...

We stayed at Econolodge and everything was great. The rooms are really nice and clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend
