We did not stay here but we stopped in for some food. The food was tasty and the server was very kind. If you order the nachos either make it a meal for two or order half of a serving.They also have some great drinks to try out, one is a boozy milkshake. It was perfect on a hot day. The parking can get a bit full so I suggest walking there if you can or you will have to be creative and park along the fence across the road.

The restaurant at Frontier has good food and friendly service, but did not make up for the really awful cabin. We were assigned the cabin that is the oldest building on the peninsula, formerly the railroad depot. Looking at their website, it looks like none of the photos are from this cabin. From the outside it looks okay, but the interior is very disappointing. The couches, chairs, beds are all very old and worn out. In the living area, power cords and extension cords are running all over the room, and there were several light fixtures that didn't work. The bedrooms have mattresses that sink badly in the center, and the shower is a small freestanding fiberglass box with a very slanted floor. Make sure you bring your own soap, because that is not provided, even though they say "everything furnished except towels."

Families been coming up to Kabetogama and Namakan for decades, Frontier has always been a staple. It's the closest resort on the river so it's the best place to stop and get gas/bait. The food is amazing and some of the best people I've met work there. The Cabins are a little run down and the hot water doesn't always work, but it's still a luxury when you're as remote as you are. Overall, everything here is great and unless you're expecting a city-like 5-star hotel experience, you won't be disappointed.

Wow! Came down from Kabetogama (6 Aug 2022) to give their food a try. Special was ribs, augratin potatoes and salad bar. We weren't disappointed and we left full AND... all at a reasonable price!! Our waitress, Lou, was delightful and staff friendly.We'll definitely eat there again.Call in advance for daily specials.

First time out there. The waitress/bartender/cook was absolutely outstanding! The food was delicious, we had the wings and fiesta tots. The drinks were wonderful. It was a great visit. Can't wait to go again!

Great people here. They are always willing to help you out with pontoon boats and fishing boat rentals. The food in the cafe is excellent and they have great coffee.I highly recommend. Photos of the large pontoon we rented and some of the great beaches you can pull into. Love these people they're awesome!

Excellent service, friendly staff. Here from Oklahoma. Pizza we ordered was best I've had in a very long time. Beautiful view of the river. Will definitely be back to hang out here again and camp for the weekend!

Our stay at Frontier Resort was the worst experience I’ve had in 40 years of resort fishing in Minnesota and Canada. The resort was completely unprepared for our arrival. After having reserved a boat (with a deposit) months in advance, they had no boat for us and were all about excuses and deflecting blame. They never even attempted to contact us to let us know they had no boat. So we were 700 miles from home and had no access to the lakes. The resort owner wasn’t even interested in helping us find another solution so we had to find another boat on our own. In the end, they didn’t even offer up any kind of discount for our trouble and lost time. It is clear to me that this is a dying property.

L and M have nearly everything for sports, home maintenance, automotive needs, housewares, pets and livestock, plumbing and electrical supplies, clothing and toys, and more. This is the first place I check when I need something. The staff are so very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Prices are comparable to the big box stores and the quality of products is better. Returns are easy and no hassle.

Cabins are out dated, not enough electrical outlets for this day and age. Shower is pretty bad, poor water pressure, very small stall, shower head is too low. Beds are small, not the most comfortable. Kitchens seem to have been stocked from a thrift shop. Docks could use some work. Bar / restaurant food is ok, drinks varied sometimes weak, sometimes just the way I like it, beer is cold. Fish cleaning house is ok, could use an upgrade. But when on a guy's fishing trip it got the job done. Rates are ok for what you are getting.

The food was good at the frontier restaurant/resort and the waitress was very patient with one of our members of of our party who could not make up thier minds on what they wanted the only things I can complain about are that they do not know how to make good shakes because they were very liquidy and the vanilla shake tasted like they put vanilla extract in it and didn't mix it up and thier prices were a little bit overpriced

Cabins are pretty shoddy... Very few of the outlets work as do the lights... There is no water pressure.. The fish cleaning station has one light bulb and dilapidated tables... They don't even sell fishing licenses at the camp.. It seems more like a local watering hole than a fish camp... The boat docks are sinking and in need of total renovation... Would highly recommend any other place than here.... If I could give it a negative 25 that would be the score

The $2 burgers are to die for. But that's only because burgers are all the same. So nothing new there. The alcohol got me drunk, like I expected. So here we are. 3/5
