Was told $20/truck for lake access for ice fishing, but when we arrived, we was told $40/truck. He charged us for 2 days of access when we honestly just want 1 day. We ended up paying for it since we already drove so far and first time. No baits available considering they offered ice fishing through their resort, inconvenience, but whatever. Also, when we've left on the second day, there was a report of a large crack on ice access, but the owner kept promoting it was safe. It was so big wide. After reading several reviews, I now understand why the negative reviews. Overall, it's just shady business practice and don't recommend.

Randy was fantastic! We called Labor Day weekend. He was very responsive! We had a blast on the jet ski. He even recommended a nearby beach for swimming after we were finished. Fair prices, very up front. Would highly recommend!

Rented a pontoon which was great. Enjoyed some light rain which didn't bother me being from Ireland and even caught a fish!Randy was helpful and to the point, I was parked and loaded on the pontoon in less than 15 minutes. Beautiful lake and unforgettable experience!

Guy instructs his friends to destroy competitors roads and threaten them. I watched em last year race vehicles down competitors roads, flooded me out, was at the bar when people came in and threatened staff. Go on to his Facebook and see all the stuff they threaten to do. I won’t risk my family’s safety fishing on this lake thanks to this man

If I could give Randy 0 stars and still leave a review, I would. His pontoon boats are broken down, covered in mold and insects, the carpet is torn, safety features are missing, and he's rude. He also used intimidation tactics including having a buddy park us in. The friend left when it was clear we made it back in time (Randy had an alarm going on his phone). We will report this company to the BBB. Don't your time and money. Don't risk your safety.

Used Randy this weekend for a night of ice fishing before my daughter had to go back to Bozeman, MT. Had an awesome greeting, escorted us out to one of his rentals. Randy was kind enough to let us host my bachelor party at his cabins. It easily accommodated the 22 guys we had stay for the weekend. Randy was very welcoming, the location was great and the cabins were very neat. Thanks for a great time Randy!

Our boat didn't want to be a boat anymore and we thought we were going to die at sea. Our dog tossed her cookies soon after we started drifting in the high seas. We had to sacrifice our water bottle as a urinal. The local Sheriff said it would be some time before they could send search and rescue.... So Randy to the rescue! He responded to our radio SOS and came as fast as his pontoon would allow. The relief we felt was unimaginable. We got a lovely scenic 5 mph tow to his docks! We could finally relax and enjoy some snacks as we got towed. Once at his Dock Randy gave us a ride to get our truck and trailer! Him and his crew helped load our boat as well! We thank our lives to Randy! In all seriousness, thank-you so much for your help!! You guys are awesome!

Customer Service was good (so two stars); Randy is very nice and so are the other employees. Randy responded well to messages/calls. But "nice" doesn't always make for a good experience.1) They were running late for various reasons out of their control, but the discount for a shorter amount of time wasn't necessarily logical/fair (200 for 4 hours, 180 for 3).2) The boats are definitely aging (as some other people have said) which wasn't a huge concern until the motor stopped working several times during the trip. Luckily I know enough about boats that we could get it going again; but this could be incredibly stressful to a person new to boats.3) It wasn't explained, until after paying for the time, that they have a "service area". If you planned on renting a boat and running up toward Garrison or Isle, you're out of luck. You're only told, after paying, that you're not really allowed to go that far. I do understand the reason the rule could exist, but it doesn't feel good only hearing about it after you'd paid.

Clearly Randy has not invested any money in keeping the boats up to date, cleaned or performed any necessary repairs. Our boat was completely full of mold and dirt. But we did have “newer” life vests which was the highlight of the trip. As we left the dock it was clear the boat was underpowered. Shortly thereafter we turned off the motor to float around. That’s when we realized the boat was listing to the side and that we were taking on water. We quickly powered up the boat and returned to Randy’s before we sunk. We rented the boat for 4 hours and we’re out for less than two. Randy offered us $80 of our $240 back. Why not return half since we were only out for two hours in a boat that almost sunk? Whatever?If you want a dirty boat that’s falling apart and may sink, go to Randy’s. If you value your health or life, go somewhere else.

Rented an ice house for the weekend and had a blast. Caught some walleye, perch, and even an eelpout! The price was right, the house was very cozy, and Randy was a pleasure to do business with. I can’t recommend this place enough!

We've been Randy's customers for years. Whether winter or summer, it's always a great getaway. Randy has gone above and beyond for us, and making sure his customers are having a good time is his priority.My son and I just rented a pontoon over the weekend. Great Father/Son memories. Lots of resorts up in Mille Lacs, but Randy’s Rentals has done so well we won't go elsewhere.

Randy has always been a great host with his rentals summer and winter, I have the privilege of calling him my friend. This past weekend me and a group of friends were ice fishing out of one of his rental houses and ended up locking my keys in the truck Randy came out and help with that and then unfortunately the next morning we got stuck in a bank snow and Randy came out and rescued us there too. Randy to the rescue! Very fair prices great service!

We had a fabulous, fun girls weekend at Randy’s VRBO!! His house holds a lot of adventure! Randy is the epitome of Minnesota nice! Him and his staff were so kind and thoughtful during our stay! They restocked firewood for the Bon fire. Borrowed us butter in our time of need, and even had cookies waiting for us! If you’re looking for a fun and quirky getaway then Randy’s place is just for you!!!

Rented House 2 for a night. I appreciate that Randy’s has one night rentals available. That said, the house was good size and clean enough for being a dated house. The sleeping pads were old AF though...even though the website says they are “padded sleep bunks with new cushions”. Another issue is pictures of the house on Randy’s website show a fan in the house used to circulate air so we left ours at home...no fan in the house so the floor was cold and the top bunks were on fire. In terms of lighting in the house, it was bad. There are two propane lanterns and six light bulb sockets. None of the sockets worked so night fishing would have been impossible if we hadn’t brought headlamps. I texted Randy several times to come look at it or drop off more bulbs and never got a response. We did receive two new bulbs when we checked in and those lasted all of 5 minutes each before deciding not to work. Fishing was slow. We caught three perch under 8” in the 22 hours in the house and it didn’t seem like the house had been moved in quite a while so wasn’t surprised by the lack of bite. A gas grill was available for us to use at the house which was great so we didn’t have to pull ours out. A nice surprise! The final straw of “do better” was that the outhouse was almost to the top...and it was Saturday morning on a busy weekend. To me that’s not okay. All in all, we made the best of it and had fun. I’ll be finding someplace else to rent from next time because not having decent lightning in the house, a full outhouse, and not receiving a response asking for help to fix said lighting issues are enough to turn us off from returning.

We stayed at Randy’s for 4 nights, we loved the hospitality and the help he had to offer around the house. He not only gave us fishing tips but also put us on the fish we caught many many Walleye! The House was clean and organized and had most amenities of home available for use. We would definitely stay at Randy’s again soon! Classic American cabin getaway with the family sums up our trip!

Worst ice fishing experience in 30 years. Ice house was a dirty dump, generator hook up didn't work, lights were burnt out, holes were iced over. Did not get one bite, what a scam. These guys don't know where the fish are, but know if you have paid. They should be more worried about if their houses are on fish instead of if every single truck has paid for using their precious lake access. He charged us weekend rate for weekday fishing. Oh and surprise!: We had to pay the ice road access fee in addition to the ice house rental. Customer service is not Randy's priority, stuffing untraceable 20 dollar bills in his pocket is. Couldn't wait to leave, will never go back. He will say this is a fake review because I was a guest of my friend Mr. Lopez who booked the rental.

We are total amateurs! We rented a three-person jetski and took turns giving rides to a 7- and 9-year-old for two hours. Randy was very hospitable, and Joseph gave instructions and helped us repeatedly dock and switch riders. We had a great time. We will be back!

For us , this was definitely a five star visit. We aren't friends of the owner and yes this is a real review. We had a friends and family camping weekend and rented two pontoons.The price quoated on the phone was exactly what we paid for the whole day , Randy even waived the cost of thefuel which was very awesome. He pointed out a great place to take the kids for some swimming , gave us some pointers and sent us on our way. It was a great day on the lake and we will definitely be back to Randy's Rentals.

My boyfriend and I came up to rent two jetskis for a couple hours on a busy Saturday afternoon and Randy was extremely courteous, friendly, and had everything set up for us by the time we got there. We had an absolute blast and will definitely be back soon!!

Really enjoyed staying at Randy's, Randy the owner was very friendly and helpful. He was so nice, top of the line customer service.The house was very big and suited us perfectly. It is rustic which is what we were lookkng for. The kitchen had everything we needed and there was a gas grill rt outside which Randy made sure we had a full tank of propane. Bedrooms had air conditioners to keep us cool at night, with big windows and nice hunter cealing fans the house stayed cool and comfy all day. Fire pits were so nice and Randy had wood ready for us. Water did have a lake smell amd we did have a little visiter chipmonk inside but we found his entrance under the sink and Randy said he will close it with a screen, it did not bother us at all and actually added to the 'rusticness'. Our kids loved running around the spacious yard.Thanks Randy for such hospitality many could learn from you.

My boyfriend and I came here last week and rented a canoe one day and a jet ski the other. We were running behind, so the first day we were about 20 minutes late. He still told us we can have the whole hour with the canoe if we wanted. He went knee deep into the water to help us get into the canoe and get us started. It was a beautiful evening and it was very fun. The day we went on the jet ski it was very windy and choppy. We were both kind of scared but he helped us through it every step of the way and assured us we would be fine. He was really helpful, very funny, and extremely kind. The prices are decent too! You should definitely check out Randy's Rentals if you want to meet an awesome guy and have a good time!

We rented the 16 foot fishing boat the day before by calling (since the website says to call for reservations). When we picked it up, they were very nice and warned us we may have bad weather. Randy told us it was $140 for 4 hours saying that $120 was for the rental and $20 for gas. We didn’t realize at the time the website prices were different than what he told us upon arrival. When we got rained out, Randy gave us a raincheck for later in the afternoon, which was very nice and we very much appreciated the flexibility. However, later when we re-looked at his website, the price was $100 for 4 hours. When we asked Randy about the price discrepancy, he said the online prices were only if booked online and didn’t mention the additional cost of gas. There is no mention of the differing cost on their website. If you’re going to book with Randy, be sure to book through email and get an agreed upon price prior to paying. Otherwise, we very much enjoyed working with Randy and his staff.

Randy is a wonderful guy! He helped us out on the water and was a pleasure to work with the entire time of the rental process. The location is a bit informal which fits being out in the beautiful weather. We unfortunately had a group in front of us stay out past their rental time, so we had to wait around the area, but we got out there for plenty of time. The jetskis are slightly dated, but they have plenty of power. Just could use some additional maintenance from the sound of them. Would definitely rent again!

Randy's Rentals on Lake Mille Lacs is a great place to stay. Randy the owner is like family, always wanting to help make your stay better. Cabin was super nice and included the use of a boat lift. Lots of nice fish to catch. Randy even took me out fishing my last night after I had taken my boat out. Highly recommend staying at his cabins, also has boats and jet skis,etc... for rent.😎
