A very nice well stocked grocery store with many varieties of whole food! Wonderful local brands to support our township! Love the assortment of wholesale bulk spices section! Same with the self serve ground coffee section!

I have come to rely on the Just Foods Co-Op – Northfield for much of my groceries. We value supporting local, organic, and naturally sourced foods. For its retail space, it is quite remarkable how efficiently they stock my preferred selection of fresh produce, many artisan pieces of cheese, local and safe meats, as well as organic dairy products, gluten-free products, and items that are ideal for guests with lactose intolerance. At times we’ve been able to purchase Lactose-free cottage cheese, sour cream, and cream cheese – which makes it so easy when I have family in town as guests. They do a great job of keeping the hot bar stocked as well as salads, wraps, sandwiches, and soups to go. I still recommend going on the early side of lunch and dinner, as I’ve seen groups of students come in and really load up (maybe for a party or something). Over Christmas and the New Year, they have stocked the award-winning Welsh Snowdonia Cheeses made in the UK. My favorites by far are "Vintage Red Leicester" and the Extra Sharp Cheddar. We love seeing its strong volunteer base and how many locals consistently shop here. I drive from Farmington because they often have items that I want and cannot find elsewhere. Baked items, like scones and doughnuts, are brought in from a local bakery and are typically a day old. They have been great in taking my requests for adding an item, too.The Deli staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Often, if not too busy, they have come around to show me an item on the shelf or in the cooler that they recommend for my meal plan. I’ve come to trust their opinion. They have a large parking lot. The new renovation makes shopping aisle spaces easy to navigate with shopping carts.

Great location with easy access. Nice product selection with good quality produce. Great selection of vitamins and homeopathic wellness items. Friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff.

Nice, I was standing staring at the produce, and an employee actually came over to ask if I needed help. That's a big improvement from using to search for an employee, which is usually the case elsewhere these days. I liked their selection and found celery root, which I can't find anywhere else. When I got out of the produce section and was searching a shelf another employee offered to help. It was very pleasant. I'll be back despite a 30 minute drive for me.

We love this co--op! They have everything we need and it's always fresh. Our kids (3 and 5) love to come shopping with us and use the little carts. The staff is very patient with the kids as they fumble through the store trying to complete their "shopping lists" and helpful during check out. They also have good prices on many items but as far as co-ops go, I'd say what makes this one special is how incredibly kind the staff is to our kids. We never feel rushed or judged here.

I'm a visitor from the twin cities, first impressions is this is the cleanest store I've been in. Product was professionally labeled and price correctly, coming to the end another register opened for us. Over all not bad for customer service in a small town :)

Always excellent quality organic &/or locally grown vegies, fruit, meats, cheeses and more. Member-owned since 2007. However, everyone is welcome to shop there.Great people! Great community!

Great remodel on the store. Now if only the hot bar was actually stocked on a regular basis. You can visit coops in towns like St. Peter and Grand Marais that consistently have good food at their hot bar available throughout the day. Not in Northfield...for some unexplained reason they stop serving fresh food at 5pm...? I mean who wants dinner from a hot bar right? 🤔

Debated if this was worth sharing, but I wish someone said something like this to me. I recently heard that nothing has changed, so here goes. I worked here from May 2016-May 2022 as a a cashier (Age 16-18) ($/hr, $9-$11) and a front end supervisor (18-22)($11.50-$13.75). I stuck around for my coworkers and tried to advocate for them. Apart from treating the pandemic like a joke (Like come on, we have sensitive populations shopping here) there are deep seated issues. Honestly, I wouldn’t shop here. I know the management and I know that they don’t respect their co-workers, as I was one. I know who they are and what they do outside of work. I wouldn’t trust them. The only people who last working here are those who conform to the strange environment. It’s a toxic high school environment for 30-50 something’s stuck, trying to feel powerful over high schoolers working part time. It’s a mean girl environment and has outrageous pricing and green washing. Employees are paid poorly, full time pay is about $25,000-$40,000/year depending on positions and time there. A union tried to form to protect workers in 2017, but somehow people were fired (Union supporters, but I’m sure it was unrelated (No, I’m not)) and management was openly unsupportive. It’s not as eco friendly as you’d hope for a Co-op supposedly upholding the 7 principles. Good for produce if you’re okay with a high price tag, but I’d go anywhere else for the rest of your food. Save your money and your time and if you’re looking for work - keep looking. I’m not trying to be rude, just trying to save someone like me some time and energy. You’ll be better appreciated and taken care of elsewhere, either for shopping or work.

Still a great place! I just scored some really good local cheese to go with dinner. The deli hot food has gotten spicier.

Excellent service and selection. If they don't have what you need they're great at trying to find it. If you're a member or at one of many Co-ops you get a discount on special orders. The remodel is spacious and contemporary. I just wish they offered more vegan options not based on soy.

The atmosphere was extremely pleasing as all the employees were happy to help me. The pricing is a little on the high side but you’re definitely getting what you pay for with the wide selection of local and organic food. The checkout process was pretty quick and I found everything I needed. A great place to shop!

I may be looking through "rose colored glasses" since I am a member, but I feel Just Food Co-op is an amazing place to get real food. Great staff, local products. Nice bulk selection, and fresh produce. At Just Foods you could sit down with a friend and have coffee or a special sandwich and soup and enjoy the atmosphere. I should note there are only a couple of tables to sit. But you can easily get a wonderful take out lunch that's fresh and healthy. There's a nice selection of spices, baked goods, dairy and meat. Check it out. You won't be disappointed.

Love co-ops. I found a package of 8 reusable make up removing cotton rounds. (4 smooth & 4 exfoliating).5 $ cheaper than an online site I've been trying to order from but they're always sold out. Score!

I love the Co-op. They have an awesome selection for the size of the store, would like to see an expansion of the hot/cold bars though! Would be a nice place to go for meals if there were a larger selection. Love the free membership for college students--accessibility is everything!

How can l explain this cute grocery store? If you like Fresh Thyme and Trader Joe's l would say the co-op is rolled into one. Different types of food which is nice. Like to try different items out. I have found another grocery store l like! Please go there, I'm sure you will not be disappointed.

I used to enjoy shopping at Just Food, until the pandemic happened and management chose not to take the precautions they should be taking to protect their staff and customers. Obviously, they are not responsible for the pandemic, but they are responsible for how they implement safety measures in their store. I've seen firsthand, many customers being allowed into the store with no masks on, even though they have a sign in front of the store that says they require masks. They do not enforce that "requirement". I, myself, as well as MANY other customers do not feel comfortable shopping while there are others in the store without masks on. I know many of my friends who shop there will agree with me, as well as the staff who work on the sales floor. I find it very rude that the management doesn't seem to care at all about the comfortability, well-being, health, and safety of their staff members and their customers. It seems they only care about money. I know a couple of people who have actually attempted to bring this concern up with Sherri Meyers (GM), and she dismissed them, because she didn't care or didn't want to deal with it. There are plenty of other stores that actually enforce the wearing of masks, and Just Food should really follow those examples. For goodness sake, customers have the option to do the "curbside" shopping as well, which would mean they don't have to get out of their car. That is written on the sign in front of the store as well. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in how Sherri has dealt with these issues. Big thumbs down!

It is nice to have a coop in town but overall I have to say I am not very impressed with this store and their way of doing business. They have some of the rudest and unfriendliest staff working there that I have ever met.The prices are the highest of any coop in Minnesota and often the cheese and dairy produce has gone way past it's prime.

It is on the more expensive side, but that is due to everything being as free as possible from chemicals, and as much as possible comes from local farmers. Their new deli and freshly made to go meals have become something great for quick lunches or people on the go.

This place has a wonderful selection of food, and I found cool and surprising things, like duck eggs. Their meat and fish selection was good and seemed fairly priced. I also liked their produce selection and the staff were friendly and helpful with finding stuff.

Love the bulk section! It's definitely possible to make zero waste meals with the amount of bulk items they have. I do wish they had nut butters in bulk though. It seems like a lot of stores lack this these days.I just have to edit this and say, yay they have nut butters in bulk! Fresh peanut and almond butter for the win! :)

Was a great experience picking up some lunch items passing through town. It says a lot for the people of Northfield and the community having such a refreshing coop in town. Been open for 10 years so it's working. Keep up the good work and friendly smiles.

I'd give it 5 stars of it weren't for the staff member in the back corner with the oils and beauty supplies. Several times I've gone in looking for certain products that I end up finding, but she's clueless as to what they are. She a lacks customer service attitude; becomes very rude and defensive when toy begin asking questions. That's my cue that she doesn't know what I'm asking. I love shopping the produce! I buy grains and a few other refrigerated items there as well with great satisfaction. Sadly since "Jesse" started working the essential oils and beauty/health section, I shop elsewhere.
