So this place seems to never have a person at the register. They have 2 self checkouts which 1/2 the time, only accepts cards. I stood at the human operated machine for roughly 20 mins waiting to purchase my items with cash, no one ever showed up to help me so I just left. This type of system is part of the unemployment issue in America. Companies like dollar general are trying to make completely electronic stores so they don't need people, just wait, if this trend continues they will soon have AI bots doing everything so people are no longer needed.

I moved here to help family out & needed to get money fast through western union & dollar general in New York mills couldn't figure out how to do the transfer so I was told they couldn't help me so I walked out & drove to Walmart & immediately got my money. Be aware they can't give u money through western union.

I have been to many Dollar General stores, but this one in New York Mills is always clean and the help that they have are an exceptional group of employees. They are always helpful above the call of duty, very friendly, and make you feel welcome. Thank employees at New York Mills Mn.

Very unprofessional. Was in this store doing some shopping, I'm the kind of shopper who just looks for stuff that catches there eye and buys it. Was in store contemplating buying a cute baby blanket for my 2 month old son, a couple dvd's and a Verizon phone card. Roughly a $100 worth of sales, when I went to till still contemplating buying items. Asked the lady (who's the manager) if you can use gift card toward purchase of phone card. She said she couldn't help me because "people have been stealing dvd's and returning without receipt for gift cards". She then proceeded to ask me to just leave the store, saying you've been her a hour and haven't bought anything yet! !?? I asked y is there a time limit, she said no, then out of the blue said "your scaring me"???? If she can't answer a simple question and make sales instead of chasing customers out of the store she shouldn't be manager. This was at 11:15 am Thursday February 9th. I'll suggest driving to perham just to even avoid this stores rude management!!! Pretty sad and ridiculous.

My sister is the one that told me about the dollar general, I love it, I can get what I need to get me bye untill I can make it to Walmart where I do my big shopping, and love that there's one real close to where I live.

The customer service can definitely be improved upon when I had questions about the service for WesternUnion they provide they couldn’t help me and I ended up having to go to a different location.
