I give this smoked brisket meal 5 stars! It comes with a wonderful salad that has mixed greens and veggies on it. Their ranch dressing was thick and delicious! On the table are three sauces of their BBQ sauce. My favorite was the thinner spicy BBQ. The mustard one was just ok. The thick sweet BBQ sauce was OK, too. The mashed taters have wonderful flavor! The carrots are buttered with some brown sugar flavor. The brisket was absolutely perfectly delicious! What a real treat! I almost asked for more of those wonder dinner rolls, but I already had too much food.

Great place for a meal. The staff was very friendly and helpful. For starters the beer cheese soup was delicious. The baccon cheese burger with homade chips was excellent. The establishment was very neat and clean. When you are in the area stop by and check out the menu. We will definitely return when we get back to this area.

Loved the unique Deep Fried pickles Wontons~delicious and presentation like we were at 5 star restaurant. I enjoyed my ribs, a little light in flavor yet a ton of meat. The atmosphere was fun, busy and noisy.

Had the two meat combo with ribs and chicken. The ribs were great but the chicken was out of this world phenomenal! Tender, juicy and full of flavor! Hands down best roasted chicken I’ve ever had in my life! I was so impressed, the cook got a $20 tip.The only reason I marked the atmosphere a 4 was because they allowed another patron to bring her non service dog into the restaurant.Food was phenomenal! Definitely will eat there again!

Ok, first let me apologize for the "half - eaten" photo of our food, but, I was so hungry and the food smelled so good I couldn't wait to try a bite. It was wonderful! Excellent smoked ribs with a highly complimentary sauce, fall off the bone tender - yum. The Roadhouse Mac n Cheese was a perfect match with a mixture of brisket, peppers, onions and two tasty cheeses. OMG, heavenly! Of course the service was superb - Lindsey was an expert in local area news and at taping a delicious Bemidji Brewing IPA for us while we reveled the food and spacious seating on the deck. Nevis is an enjoyable resting place that has quaint shops and parks. Check out Wolffworks gallery also. Marcia and Gary are incredibly talented and over the top Minnesota nice. Thanks Iron Horse and Lindsey for a memorable afternoon. We will visit again!

The Iron Horse has great food, good service and a fun bar atmosphere. BBQ dishes never disappoint, except the sausage my husband had could have been hotter. Drink refills were done without asking (bonus!). Only negative was they didn't have the Twins playoff game available on their cable service.... what...? Didn't matter, as they lost anyway, but we had to watch it on our phone instead.

This is an excellent place to eat, drink, and hangout. The place has an awesome rustic feel to it and the staff is superfriendly. The food is phenomenal and the owners also have a cabin on the lake you can rent. I spent 10 months there and loved it.

Busy! 1.5 hour wait for food however, you can sit on the deck with your dog enjoy the assume weather. Prime rib is the special. Little less than an hour food was outstanding definitely will be back.

Same great bbq place! This time, I tried the bbq sampler platter. Delicious brisket, sausage, ribs, and pulled pork with beans, coleslaw, and corn bread all on one large plate. Great service, excellent food, and a fun atmosphere. I enjoy coming here on my bicycle in the summer and snowmobile in the winter as they are located right next to the Heartland trail. Can't wait to go back!

Taking the fact that it was a busy holiday into account my rating is based purely on the fact that the food was mid at best. The only seasoning the burger got was whatever chars accumulated over the years.Frankly I probably would've been happier with my meal if I hadn't seen a filthy rag sitting on food prep surfaces, cooks touching their greasy phones and immediately going back to food prep, and noticing the grime (peep the stainless that definitely needs a good scrubbing) that accumulates from years of sub par cleaning. I know it's best to not think about how dirty the kitchen is but the kitchen was on display. That being said my medium rare burger was luke warm and well done at the same time, they never asked what to replace the poutine with so they gave me crisps. I appreciate that they gave me fries when I brought that up, however they gave me soggy mildly warm fries that for some reason tasted like bacon?Although grossed out by the state of the kitchen, I could still be convinced to give a 4.5 or 4.8 if the food was good. But taking away any of the issues brought on by it being a busy holiday weekend, the burgers only flavor was the grill, there's no real flavor to it.In summation, kinda mid, but if you're hammered you probably won't care about sanitary conditions or flavor.

Mac and cheese was scrumptious but missing the andouille sausage - server gave us credit on our bill. Burnt ends brisket were exceptionally tasteful - after peeling off the fat. Had a brisket gyro of which 60% of the meat was a rubbery, inedible fat. Another at our table ordered a brisket meal with too much fat. I would still highly recommend the Iron Horse as the food is exceptionally tasteful and the staff - while shorthanded, work very hard. Just be cautious of the brisket.

Rode here from the trails, we had the jiffy burger, mac and cheese, pickle wonton , raspberry chicken sandwich and some other stuff. Everything was delicious!!! We had to come back for the wonton and Jiffy burger on our way back home.

Superb prime rib. The sweet carrots were hands down the best I ever had. If this place can keep up consistency of delivering good food, they will be a success for many years to come.
