Don’t even waste your time!! They are NEVER opened. I stopped 3 different weeks, days, and times and they were closed! Today it was closed at 12:00pm with a sign saying “Will reopen Sunday, sorry for the inconvenience”While I am sitting here writing this, about 5/6 cars came by and turned around because they were closed. They are losing business!! I guess it’s a good thing they are closed because you can’t even shop in any of the aisles with a cart… They are so packed with inventory that needs to get on the floor. Maybe pay your workers (can’t work there till you are 18) more than $12 an hour. See photos I have took before you go.. you will not find what you are looking for.

I am absolutely DISGUSTED with this store unbelievably angry and disgusted. I came in on December 28th, 2023 around 3:30-4PM and the cashier's were making fun of people in wheel chairs. I was standing down an isle shopping and I could loudly hear them discussing "getting with people in wheel chairs". I said something because I feel as though this is completely inappropriate and sickening. That is not something you talk about in the work place. Making fun of people for disabilities that they have no control over and cannot help no matter the disability is absolutely wrong and disgusting. You need to have employees that are respectful and know what is appropriate to discuss at work and what is not. I will NOT be coming back to this store. You don't know the troubles people are going through and therefore have no right to make fun of ANYONE for the disabilities they have. Do not waste your time going to this store. Not to mention when I said something one of the cashier's laughed and smirked. Have some respect or hire people who have some respect. DISGUSTING

Went there one day and nobody was there I literally walked through every part of the store even the managers office and the stock room way to go corporate btw self checkout was down big surprise maybe if you close now you could save face the employees get paid trash and are way over worked and under paid if you're open boooo

Some of those ladies know I'm always looking for clearance, well, anything... they'll let me know when it's happening and they know I'm always painting, planting, creating or recreating something! For example... my very first ever gnome home!! New holiday decorating ideas every year etc;Almost all of my plant eeds came from DG the last 2 years! They've always got sizable holiday and seasonal variety selections and sales! They've got a lil bit of everything ya need a lil bit of anything ya want. Office & school supplies, Medicinal, automotive, hygiene, home decor, crafts, clothing, footwear, cosmetics, FOOD, like your pantry fridge and freezer staples and treats, some tools, paint and supplies for, charging accessories, housewares, cleaning supplies/ tools/ solutions, home storage, pet food and sum supplies;Love the "dollar isle" and the clearance items! Which are similar, yet quite different at all locations if that makes sense; this one is just the closest.

Hands down the WORST dollar general I’ve been too (and it’s been many). Do not waste your time driving to the Montrose Minnesota location because 9 times out of ten they will be closed. Always an excuse usually because they got a delivery. Sometimes there is absolutely no reason. If you are fortunate enough to find them open you will wait in line for at least ten minutes. No care in the world here. Outside smoking. Social hour. Catch up with a dear old coworker. “Stock” the empty shelves. Always something

This store looks great now. It did have some overstock problems due to matters beyond their control, but they have really done a great job with making the store look good. I feel it will continue to improve due to great management and employment

The prices aren’t even remotely low for any product let alone sub par products. You get claustrophobic walking the isles. Carts and boxes everywhere. You feel like you’re on an episode of hoarders. Lot wasn’t plowed. About 10 inches of snow and many customers getting stuck just trying to leave after realizing they wouldn’t make it in. Save your time and just go to a gas station. Prices are the same anyways.

The dollar store in montrose is a joke! Whoever owns that establishment needs to just close the doors. If I could give 0 stars I would. Went there this morning for medicine for my children and the shelves are completely empty. Yet there is stock puking from the carts in every isle. This store is the closest thing to most of us for the necessities. However with the shelves empty and huge carts blocking every isle the business is useless to everyone.

Feel bad for the employees, they are great. A little overworked but great.This store is rarely open due to having to restocking shelves.Regional manager doesn't give the manager enough hours to keep the store open full time hours.Website states open but isn't accurate at all.

This was my first time at this location, just simply came to get 5 items, which costed around 36$. Not impressed at all and here’s why, the cashier that rang me up seemed like she had no training and no idea on how to do things properly. She first clicked the wrong button and rang it up as cash and had to redo my entire transaction as card. She also kept shouting for someone to come assist her. I feel as a new customer the first impression is the one that sticks and with this horrible first interaction, I will not be returning to this location. Honestly, I should ask or be offered a refund for my troubles. They need to worry about training their staff properly and ensuring that their employees know what they are doing ahead of time.Such a shame.

Use to shop here at LEAST once a week but usually 2 to 3x. I love the remodel and having produce items BUT since Eric has left and this new remodel the store is unorganized and never stocked, now it's been closed WAY too much. Ppl in the community myself included over age 18 have offered to volunteer to help them get stocked and caught up to keep them open, always turned down, we have many 14 and 15 yr old kids in the community, my kid included very eager to work and could come simply stock many items that u don't need to be 18 to stock, most of the store, hire them a couple hrs on delivery days and til it's stocked. But corporate has a stupid rule against that, well I'd say it'd be better to change that rule and keep ur doors ope the. The alternative of being closed 3 or 5 days of the week. And losing money. If this continues I will boycott this store all together and just get instacart or the other grocery del8very service

Don't waste your time. Just drive the 10 mins to the new location in Delano. This place is closed more than it's open and the staff is either untrained or just incompetent. Used to stop here at least once a week for some essentials. Won't even tap the brakes passing it now. Absolutely garbage store.

I love how they have practically everything you need. Especially since they are open until 10. It really helps when the kids are sick and you need medicine. Or last minute food options. I wish they could get fresh veggies or fruit. That would be amazing! I try to support them when I can by shopping there. Added bonus for getting the redbox there!

Great store!!! Has everything you need for your place and lots of practical and fun stuff too. Staff is friendly and helpful and patient. Of all the "dollar "stores, Dollar General is my favorite. Not everything is $1 but everything is very reasonably priced.

Things are easily categorized with the simplicity of one's business name. Same goes for the Dollar General. It's a small town life saver in so many ways. Not to mention the most flexible of hours and variety of items. Some stuff is super cheesy and garbage but for the most part it's got e everything you need. Medicine, food, pop, refrigerator storage containers and so much more. True life saver.

Good prices, but that's about it. Kind of a let down. They run out of stock very fast. The staff is not as friendly as they should be, very rarely even a smile. They like to complain about the store a lot to the public. The store is very disorganized, and crowded shelves. I would rather drive to the Dollar General in the next town over.

In and out pretty fast. Found what I needed pretty quickly. Only downside is that they sometimes close at random. Long line fixed by adding multiple self check-outs.

I like shopping here but the reason I have 1 star is because certain employees (not naming names) have been passing by me and my friends I do not know for what reason, it could be that we are young or they acuse us as shoplifters , but most of all the employees just keep on staring at me and my friends and it creeps us out they think we are going to "shoplift" but when we pay the cashier says we have been shopping quite a bit. And we didn't want to reply cause I have friends and we take our time when shopping. (This is my honest opinion I love shopping here but please less staring would be nice)

Great clothes on sale, got pants, dress and zippered sweatshirt for $9.00. Regular price would have been &40.00. Also got 2 pair sweatpants, PJ bottoms and blue pants, original price $33.00 paid $8.75. Very great deals this weekend. Always looking for bargains.

Living in a small town and don't want to travel 10-15 minutes to go to a Walmart, you have Dollar General right down the road. It's quick and easy for grabbing a few things. They have all the essentials.

The place is so messy, not enough room for so much stuff, as well as carts full of items that are to be put on shelves. Some shelves are empty even when the items in the back, not enough people to help out customers. Cashiers are expected to stock shelves and be cashiers, it just isn't possible when the store is really busy and only one person is scheduled to work. The moment you walk into the store in winsted. Mn sometimes you can cut the tension with a knife. The store in winsted is a small store and can not hold what a big Dollar General store holds. The district manager for the winsted store is rude and mean. I didnt like the way he talked to the employees.

Talk about amazing customer service. This place has an amazing staff. The manager at this location in particular is totally community oriented and the customer service he provides to his community is premier. He is hands on and dedicated to his store, his team, and his town.

For a small town of Montrose, this store has almost everything needed to make quick purchases until you can do your full shopping elsewhere.Being a "Dollar" store, there are things more expensive here then you'd get elsewhere. But for convenience of not having to drive 10-15 miles may be worth it.

Awful service, the workers mocked my friends and are very sassy. Also every-time my friends and I are looking at their inventory we always see a worker walk by multiple times and stare!!! I don't know what wrong because we never STOLE or did anything bad!!

Really nice people that work there when ask to guess how old the cashier is just say he's good looking and leave it at that really nice clean carts to use and best low prise on every thing never been be for 1st but love to stop back and tell the man cahcier sorry but supper nice drop in and have a look around

It's brand new so very clean. It is kind of messy, with inventory not on shelves. Doesn't get too busy so it's fast, convenient, and cheap.
