This store has some of the most beautiful tanks I have ever seen. Fish are absolutely well taken care of here with pristine water and tank conditions. My husband and I bought a lot of cool plants here, I adore the floating plants they had for sale as well (shown in tanks we set up below). The staff was so nice and very knowledgeable. Wonderful store!

I came here to buy everything I needed to set up a planted aquarium as a project for my daughter and I. I seriously have zero knowledge of aquariums and I left with supplies, plants, and all the wisdom I needed to get started in this awesome hobby. One week in and my aquarium is (so far!) thriving. I’m trying to hold off on buying more fish until my little aquarium ecosystem is more established, but it’s hard to wait. I will definitely head back here when it’s time to add more!

Great shop with a well-curated selection of healthy fish and plants. The staff is super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly. Everything is organized, clean, and easy to find. There is even a fun table where you can test out habitat accessories to see how they will work together in your tank.

I have had a couple of great experiences here. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and were willing to help me talk through some issues I had been having with one of my tanks. It's clear that they are enthusiastic about the aquarium hobby and want to share it with others. They were willing to go the extra mile to help me get the right fish, plants, and products. I would definitely recommend stopping in!

Great store, great prices, great staff! I love the ability to aquascape in the store. They have lots of selections for it as well as fish. All the fish seemed very healthy. They even sell succulents and fish-related goodies made by local artists! Highly recommend checking out!

As a complete beginner, I was intimidated about going into a store and starting my own aquarium. However, the incredible staff has made my journey an absolute delight so far. They helped set me up with the necessary equipment, cycle my tank, and even deal with some bumps along the way. They are genuinely eager to help (without being pushy at all), and I cannot overstate how patient and knowledgeable they are. I also love their approach to aquariums and fish-keeping.Staff aside, the store itself is clean, organized, well stocked, and aesthetically beautiful. The fish/livestock are clearly very healthy and they also have a vibrant variety of plants.The combination of the staff and store definitely make this the best local fish shop in Minneapolis. I highly recommend everyone to visit Rivershore Aquariums!

Not only one of the best fish stores in the Twin Cities, but one of the best I’ve been to - ever. I love the planted tank niche. The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. I am looking forward to setting up a small black water tank and can’t wait to get started!

Hands down the best aquarium store i have EVER been too! Didn’t see any sick fish for once! They have pretty much everything! Including some amazing wood! Highly recommend will be going here again when I need something

Fantastic place to go - wide variety of healthy fish and plants, excellent customer service, love the natural "habitats" provided for the fish (plants, wood, rocks)!! Would love to see more tanks, more options of fish (discus if possible), rewards program/more sales & specials. Will be back for sure. Rivershore Aquariums is a super cool store with all the tools, plants, and equipment you need. They have some beautiful and well planted tanks. They also have a few odds and ends left over from World of Fish, so it’s cool to see those items being reused. Staff were friendly and welcoming too!

I can see why this place has a five star rating. All of the staff, especially Derek, were super friendly and helpful. Absolutely beautiful show tanks and a good variety of fish, supplies and decor including live plants. I’ll definitely be back! You should check it out!

Rivershore was such a help in getting me started with my first tanks and I officially have 3 tanks from them, and half my fish from them! I’ve been to many of the fish stores in the cities and the fish they carry are some of the healthiest I’ve seen. I’d like to especially talk up how healthy the bettas they carry are. Every store I’ve been to keeps their bettas in little cups, and while I don’t believe that’s necessarily bad in the short term, none of the bettas in cups I’ve seen look as happy and healthy as the ones at Rivershore, in actual tanks. The store itself is beautiful, full of fully scaped aquariums of different sizes, plants all over, a disco ball, and overall very bright and fun atmosphere. The workers/owners are very quick to greet you and help you out with whatever you need, and they all are clearly very experienced in aquariums and fish care. It’s clear in the way you talk to them just how passionate all of them are! Overall my favorite fish store in MN. The pictures included are of some of the fish in their store, as well as my 20 gallon that is stocked almost entirely with plants, wood, and fish from Rivershore.

Great new shop. As someone who hasn’t kept fish in a very long time, I am considering getting a tank for the kids. I have been in twice and the guys were very happy to help answer my questions.I am planning on buying a tank as a gift for Christmas and will definitely purchase it here. Attractive tanks in store with good quality fish, media, and a quality selection of products. Looking forward to our aquarium investment!

Beautiful store. Showcase tank setups and healthy looking fish. Not your average rows of boring tanks packed with dying fish. Very nice selection of various substrates, rocks, driftwood or spiderwood and plants. Knowledgeable and very helpful staff. This is a good store to go to if you are wanting to set up an aquarium with quality materials and real accurate advice from experts. A far cry from Petco.

Hard to find equipment and tools as well as premium wood, rock, and other tank decor. The team is very helpful and knowledgeable about every aspect of aquarium set up and ongoing care. Check it out!

I've enjoyed every visit here. Some great looking aquariums to look at, plenty of fish and plants, and lots of hardscape and equipment to choose from. They have UNS rimless aquariums in all shapes and sizes that you won't normally find in other stores. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as well who are not just trying to sell you the most expensive stuff. It's definitely worth a visit!

A ton of different,very healthy plants. The staff is knowledgeable and very good with kids- answering all of their questions and engaging with them. So many different and decently priced fish /snails. They even had axolotls!

Awesome, clean, friendly fish store. I spoke with Dan, Derek, and Ben who worked there and they were all very friendly and knowledgeable. They seemed to really be there because they love what they do and not just to push sales and make a quick buck. I watched one of them handle a difficult situation with another customer with such grace and patience that it brought me joy to see that kind of customer care still present today. If you are looking for some fish, shrimp, aquariums, supplies, etc., be sure to come check this shop out. While you're there be sure to stop and say hi to Birdie the puffer!

Haven’t had fish in a few decades. Daughter wanted to have some so I went here based on the guys being small business owners. I was presently surprised with the amount of knowledge this friendly staff holds. Derrick helped us get everything we needed for the tank and was patient answering questions we had about the process about setting up a new tank.Overall, I would recommend anyone interested to go to this shop for their aquatic needs. I plan on going back for any of my future needs. Thanks guys.

Very nice selection of fish. Staff were extremely dedicated to helping me find Pygmy cories! They also ensured my fish were healthy and safe enough to travel 2 hours back home with me. I would definitely come back more often!
