As the owner of the Methuselah/Keith Richards of parrots, I have been going to this store ever since I adopted my celestial parrotlet around 2004. There is nobody I would trust more when it comes to bird advice. He is patient and very good at explaining things and getting right to the point. They also create their own feed blends on-site, and it is a far healthier and higher-quality mix than I have ever seen in any of the big-name pet stores, for a lower price, and with less filler that will just get thrown out of the dish. This charming little shop is a local business worth supporting.

My sister and I have been coming to Tom for years. He is always very helpful and is extremely knowledgeable about birds. We have called him with questions/concerns about our birds (a cockatiel and a parakeet) and he has been very patient and helpful. The products he carries are good quality and well-researched by him. The store isn't as bright and cheery as say, a Petco, but I would rather talk to someone who knows their stuff than go to a store for its visual appeal.

My daughter purchased a parakeet from the owner and making it an easy transition from being able to finger hold it right away. The birds are so friendly and love all the attention they receive when you enter the store.

I hate to say it, but I'm giving this a 1-star-rating. One time, when I went to buy dog food for my border collie, the store owner said that Border Collies do not eat lamb because they herd them. I very, very strongly disagree with this and I told him such. Also, the birds at the store are kept in small cages, and it is also very dusty there. I read somewhere that it's unhealthy for birds to be kept in smaller cages and to be out in the open for too long with humans, in case they have some kind of disease.
