We stopped only to check it out and hopefully find fish food. Walking in the door you immediately see, it's SO much more. We stayed until closing looking at the fish tanks. &I'm sure we didn't get through them all. We'll definitely be back!

i’ve been going to auqa land for around four years we have 3 fish tanks and we have gained so much knowledge all the employees are very nice and are on top of helping and checking with customers they have great prices and a lot of cool exotic fish ,i have gotten all my fish in these pictures from auqa land besides the catfish and they have all lived very good lives and where very healthy when i got them.

They have a lot of stuff but I would probably never buy anything from here. It was quite dirty and they had dead fish laying around. I’d love to see this place cleaned up and the products reflect the world of fish keeping in 2023, not 1970s.

Today was my first visit to Aqualand and I would 10/10 recommend this place for ALL of your fish needs. The owner, John, is absolutely great, friendly and really knows his stuff. 2nd generation owner, has his own fish at home, etc. His cousin Tom also works here and is just as friendly and knowledgeable. The store has a HUGE selection of fish, supplies, aquariums, and the like. They offer water testing and other services. A great place to even just visit and check out all of the fish. Support small businesses, shop local and come to Aqualand!!! Located at the corner of Chicago and E. 54th - Minneapolis. 🐟🐠🐡🦈"Fish are friends ... Not food."

When we started our first fish tank about four years ago, Aqualand was recommended to us by a friend. And I am so glad that they did! I always feel welcome there, The owner and staff are always happy to answer my questions, and have made really good recommendations on what fish to put together, what to feed them, and what to do when they get sick.This is a store that I would highly recommend, for someone who is new to the fish world, or is an expert.

This store is really fun and they have a ton of great options. The fish appear well cared for and their tanks clean, unfortunately the store itself is pretty dirty with cobwebs, dust, and crud. Would love to see it after a deep deep clean!

Amazing shop. Tons of fish both big and small. Many accessories, plants, substrate etc.The only downside here is some of the employees. When I asked a basic question about certain fish, I was asked by the kid employee to 'look it up on my phone if I can.'Previously I had set up a community tank with many fish and wanted to make sure they would be okay with each other, was assured this small tank would be good, and weeks later I was pulling dead, bullied fish from it....soooTL:DR: great shop, but come equipped with your own knowledge.

Support this business!! I came here to buy my first fish and just set up a basic fish tank with no filtration system. I am not looking to create an aquarium at this moment, but if I was, the selection at this store is great! I have to emphasize that the staff members were extremely nice and super helpful!! The store was busy and near closing time when I visited. I was asking a bunch of questions about setting up my tank and fish care generally (because I am determined to not kill my first fish haha). The staff did not rush me at all and answered all of my questions - even the ridiculous ones.This is also just a fun store to pop into because they have turtles too and so many fun fish to look at. I went here on a Friday and it was a fun way to begin my weekend. The prices of the fish and supplies are also very fair. I paid about $10 for my Siamese Fighting Fish.All the creatures at the store seem to be well cared for, and the store was organized, neat, and clean. If I decide to build something more elaborate than just a simple fish tank, like a small aquarium - I will certainly be coming here. You can also come in at any time and they will give you a container of aged water. I was told this is useful for maintaining healthy water for your fish and also useful for when you clean the tank and give "new" water - the aged water helps reduce shocking the fish due to the change in environment. I'm learning, and my fish (Moksha) is still alive! Yay!:)

Meh? It is somewhat run down but has good supply and was busy when I was there, which tells you something. On the other hand, I was charged a mysterious extra $1.50 for a third item I didn't buy; everything is manually typed in. CHECK YOUR RECEIPT before you leave.

Great fish selections! My friend was helped well. She got 3 snails and 3 small fish. The pricing was absurd. For the 6 things she got, it costed her $70. For 3 snails, and 3 small fish, it costed her $70. That’s absurd. That’s ridiculous. That’s a rip off. For 6 small things that you could get from a PetCo for maybe $15-$20, she paid $70. That’s uncalled for. If you go there, prepare to buy overly priced fish.

Great selection of fish and plants. Good turnover so you are likely to get fish that are healthier. I visited a number of other shops in town, but kept returning here. Only shop that consistently checked on my tank size and stocking level prior to selling me more fish.

This place is amazing! Really helpful and knowledgeable staff. I am just starting my freshwater aquarium and they were so patient and answered all my questions. Tested my water, gave excellent advice and helped us choose our first fish for the tank. Fish are beautiful and very active. Can't wait to go back and continue growing our tank!

Very knowledgeable and friendly, plenty of staff to answer questions. They have an amazing assortment of fish. I'd take my kid their just to look around, I assume they'd be cool with that. I got this white cichlid at the bottom of the photo. He was spendy but worth it.

I can't say enough good things about this place!! Their knowledge is abundant and they are so willing share to ensure your fish are healthy and happy. The selection of fish, plants and supplies and great. It's also a great place to go and see some really great/fun species of fish. They will also refill your empty containers for food and such to help reduce plastic consumption.
