Great place to take the family and enjoy a good movie plenty of good concessions but work on that popcorn the other night it was a bucket of hard small pieces and kernels. Also people taking up 2 parking spots by chairs in one and car in the other should be addressed. Other than that, always enjoy the movie season here.

A little slice of Americana! The staff are local youth that are well mannered and have great people skills. They seem as happy to be there as I do which you don't experience much any more! It is only 30 minutes from Sioux Falls. Great for a date night or a group. The concessions are so affordable that you want to buy it to support them. Nice restrooms. You won't be disappointed!

Good cheap entertainment. Where else can you get 2 movies for 7 dollars, and if the weather is holding, no better way to spend an evening. Concessions are reasonably priced, and has courteous and friendly staff. Best part, is only about a half hour from Sioux Falls.

What a fun time! We had never been to Verne Drive In, and we're looking for something different to do for fun to kick off the 4th of July holiday weekend. Not knowing how popular an attraction it would be on a holiday weekend Friday night, we aimed to get there shortly after the gates opened at 7. Got there about 7:30 and were the 5th or 6th car there. So, maybe so super dire to get there hours before the movie starts (this night full dark was about 945, so that's when the double features began) and it never got packed full, there was very ample parking! Trucks and anyone wanting open hatch backs need to park in rows 4 and up,1-3 being saved for cars\vans\closed SUVs. There is also a grassy spot in front with picnic tables for anyone wanting to be really up close and personal with the movies.Viewers on this particular night were SO respectful and there was zero honking, engine running during movies (not allowed, but you know how people can be!) and no children running around causing grief between vehicles during or even before the movies. There were several dogs and all were quiet. We brought a deck of cards to pass the time while waiting for the show to start.Plenty of food is available, from cheese burgers and fries and popcorn to ice cream and slushies and cotton candy. You can order online through the FanFood app or just stroll in and order at the nicely air conditioned concession. Bathrooms were clean and well lit and there was plenty of staff on hand to keep things running really smoothly! Will be back again!

Great value for movies! Enjoyed our visit. It was frustrating that we couldn't sit in the back of our SUV, because we couldn't leave the back open. Tip for new visitors, bring a battery powered FM radio to save your vehicle's battery!

The staff is very nice. The restrooms are clean. Too much dust. The kid dumped too much fake butter salt on my popcorn . When I took it back he lied and said he didn't. Then doubled down by putting even more on the replacement. Lot is too dusty and dirty the car and everything in it is caked with dirt.

Nice place, well laid out so no trouble finding a good spot to park your car and watch the movie. Plenty of snacks and nice clean restrooms. Staff is super friendly.

I have a small car with a hatchback that is no higher than all cars with a trunk. I was requested to move out of my choice front row spot by a security kid in a golf cart. I was not told about this upon arrival, rather after the choice third row spots had been taken. My view is attached. Notice there are two larger higher vehicles in front of me in row two!

I gave this 2 stars simply because of the reasonable admission prices. I can totally see why others have had great experiences here but for us, it just wasn't.It's a great idea but our experience was not what it so easily could/should have been. It was advertised online they were doing Burgers and Fries for $6 tonight. We decided to take the family out and do a dinner and movie night. We arrived over an hour before the first movie started and well before the bulk of cars arrived. We immediately went in to purchase dinner and were told they were out of burgers.I would get it if we had walked in looking for a burger at 10pm, but not like this. Planning should have been much better when you advertise something like this and have families planning their meals on it.We parked right up front and center. Unfortunately the viewing experience was lacking due to the vehicles behind with their lights on throughout the entire movie. You used to have someone going through and enforcing rules to make sure no one's experience was affected by these situations. It would have been nice for this to still happen. In the end, tickets were $30 which is completely reasonable. Food was in excess of $50 which was fine for the amount we got but would have been more reasonable had we been able to get the advertised meal. Like I said, prices were reasonable but it still ended up being more than $80 and a 40 minute drive for a frustrating night that left everyone disappointed and ended with us leaving early.

Great venue for a summer night out! Entrance could use some better signage, it would have been harder to get to the right place if we hadn't had people with us that had been there! Great experience at a nice newer rebuilt facility so entrance is maybe a work in progress!!!

Perfect night to watch new Indiana Jones movie. Concessions were a great value and we loaded up. The sound system in our car made for an amazing experience.

I had to update my review from 4 to 5 stars, as new owners have taken the place to the next level! The burgers would be worth going here for, even if they didn't have a fantastic theater. They really seem to care about their business and customers, and we're glad to have them!

It was pretty good but there snow cone machines at the concessions have a bit of a hard time keeping up with the demand it's really good two movies and broadcast over the radio trucks towards the back so cars can see is really good, and picnic tables to sit at, indoor and out door restrooms so that's great too.

We took our family out on a night in mid September. Plenty of space in the lot and an awesome screen and sound throughout. Tons of options for snacks and food at the venue. Best yet, staff were polite and helpful. Highly recommend this to anyone who lives close or who is passing through!

Love Drive-Ins and glad that this one is in Luverne.Got together with the family and grandkids to see the new Minion & Jurassic movie! Both were pretty good. Kids enjoyed the Minions! Of course they fell asleep after that ended & us adults enjoyed the later one. Staff is always nice. They are now switching over to being open only on Fridays and Saturdays til Oct 1st before closing for the season. You can go to their Facebook page for more info. Adults are $7Children under 5 or 6 are free. And if your battery happens to die, they're always happy to give you a jump start! 😊

Really great place to watch family friendly movies with younger kids. Lots of room most nights with easy access to parking. Management really helpful if you run into a dead battery while watching the movie.

Everything about this theater was great. The food prices are ridiculously low I would have spent $60 at a normal theater for what I got for $15 here. Entrance gate got moved that was a nice touch for when the lines get long. Sound quality and image quality are better than average for this type of setting. My family had a great time.

As always, the Verne Drive In was a fantastic time. We went on a Thursday which was a bit less busy than usual, but concessions were well priced and ready fairly quickly. The assignment of bigger vehicles starting in the 4th row was a nice change too to give smaller cars a better view in the front. Make sure if you do go on a Thursday to sit in your car or to have a portable radio along as it can be hard to hear the movie with the less amount of people and therefore less car speakers to contribute to sound. This has always been a favorite of ours and we are excited for more movies this summer!

We had car issues and the staff was very helpful. Also a huge thank you to the gentleman that were able to jump our vehicle.FYI..if you have a newer car with the round "start button/fob" if you go to a drive-in you need an AM/FM transistor radio ti listen to the movie. These vehicles can't run radio only, your battery will drain and you need a jump.

We took our family here for the Saturday night double movie - Jurassic World Dominion & Top Gun Maverick. The first movie starts at dark (9:20 - 9:40ish Summer) and the second movie starts at 12:30. Bring a portable radio as the audio for the movie is broadcast on an FM channel (or sit in your car) as the staff will jump off your vehicle if your battery dies. They have a full concession stand with nightly specials. Bring your lawn chairs or throw a blow up mattress and pillows in your truck bed.

Awesome place to go in the summer! I grew up going to the Drive-in with my parents so it's great we have a local place to share with our kids! Great price! Food is good. Grassy area to play on while waiting for the movie to start!

This place is amazing it is off the path enough to make the drive in feel as though it is rather very rural. Pricing for snacks combos and drinks are not typical to a movie theatre. They rival a super market for prices. 2 movies for a great price and new release movies. I saw suicide squad here and loved every mi Ute of my Bose sound system in my Monte Carlo

New owners have made the place even better than what it once was. Good prices on the snacks and drinks with being in the comforts of your own vehicle. We will be back tonight again for ford versus Ferrari

One member of the staff, Luke, was super helpful! My car died from leaving the radio on for too long and he gave it a quick jump! Was extremely nice to talk to and made the whole situation a lot better! Best drive in I've ever been to!

This is one of the few remaining drive in theaters. It was a great experience for only $5 per person. They are clear that no one may bring their own food. Concessions are somewhat expensive. They do drive around afterwards to jump any cars with dead batteries!
