Can you please pay your employees more per hour so they stay with you and actually stock shelves?! For the love of all things good this is the only retail store our little community has besides hardware/farm stores and it’s never open and nothings ever stocked. Maybe instead of creating your new posh stores you should focus on keeping the poor people ones good! This location is always closed for “truck unload” but then the metal creates just sit around the store for weeks. So with Christmas coming and you want anything seasonal bring your box cutter! every location is getting this way, Adrian, Rock rapids even my “good one” in Brandon. I don’t think it’s just luverne anymore. Come on DG do better, be better pay your employees worth a dang! Dollar General can just build new stores in higher income areas, to target people with a larger pocket book and do better? Guess what those stores still need people there stocking shelves, checking out, and oh shocker cleaning! And I can bet a dollar on the dime those with the larger pocket books will not be working at a renamed dollar store, and if those types of jobs aren’t good enough for them you think their kids will work there?!

The cashier accused me of being a thief, said my credit card (corporate amex) was fake and that I was trying to steal $3,000 today. I was actually just trying to purchase visa gift cards as Christmas gifts for my employees. I could have bought them in SD today but I waited until I got back to Luverne because I prefer to shop small to help the community. Ultimately I had to call the sheriff because the clerk refused to issue me a refund after over charging my card by $600.0040 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Waste of tax payer dollars having to involve the sheriff's office for a basic retail transaction. Totally ruined the holiday cheer for me. Zero stars out five, definitely would not recommend.

The staff were extremely friendly, but twice we came to this store and there were signs on the door that "we're closed sorry for the inconvenience" or " only opened from 4pm-9pm" This store is the closest thing to a general store in the area. Maybe hire more staff or something.

It is absolutely ridiculous how often this store changes their hours. Today they had a random sign on the door saying they are closed 1-4. It is past 4 and they're still closed. They're not answering the phone either. They never do answer the phone though.Came back to edit 10/28/22. I don't think the employees are the problem. They're always kind. It's just frustrating when the only affordable (prices aren't hiked bc it's a small town) store in town isn't open at all or has wonky hours that constantly change. But I realize the employees are doing the best they can with the hours and situation that corporate has given them. It's a corporate problem. Some stores choose to work beyond the hours and pay given and this store has chosen not to. I'm down with that. Even if that means I have to do some things differently myself. Corporations need to change the way things are done. Gone are the days we're breaking our backs just to struggle anyway while a corporation(s) open more stores and rake in more money.

Luverne location is ALWAYS closed the store even after remodeling is still a mess. Definitely not handicap wheelchair accessible due to over flow in the aisles. They make up there own hours and they constantly close the store. Might as well close it for good.

Hours are wrong. They have it posted on the door 8am-9pm. Also if you try and go in at 8:30pm to grab something there’s a good chance depending on the worker that they will refuse service or out right kick you out.

I rode the bus there today and it says closed all day on a sign... 1:30pm on a Friday. I literally never know when they will be open until I go there, the hours change constantly.Dollar General gross profit for the quarter ending July 31, 2022 was $3.048B, a 11.34% increase year-over-year.Maybe start paying employees a living wage? They seem to have a hard time keeping ANY HELP. There is never enough employee's to stock shelves or to keep the store open.Update: parking lot was filled with people waiting to get In and the store isn't opened. Past 4pm Massive storm coming

Use to be great. Just needs find people that actually would like to work at work. Checking people out and putting on shelf.I get you may want to talk a little fine but still do your job don't sit around talking alit of the day with no work done.yes I see low on workers, but that don't give you a reason to not do your job you signed up for. Also be kinder to the COSTOMERS yes I saw and heard sometimes you could do a little better. Believe and hopefully you can have good help to.No I don't think the people are right to close the store, DG is a need in Luverne, instead DG needs be more willing hire (I get some can't work thier do recent history or actions, but some that only able work 2 to 4 hours for even 3 days and even if they can't lift, that's help and maybe your best helper. Boxes can be sat near area they need them they can do fine ) If someone comes from another store I'm sure they don't get their full gas money more extra for using their cars nor extra for being farther from their family. Also payed for their time the right way at some locations get less then you all get as to they work hard keep it up even nicer and get called jerks and messy. But check yours out don't looks even near as well ) keep it nice after they leave! Don't put back to dump in a week...low staff yes after few months may get that way...also they came from low staff too you can tell CORPORATE DONT HELP MUCH AND PAYS LOW FOR MANY BEEN THIER SOMETIMES LOWER THAN ALL YOU NEWER ONES.

This is the worst ran Dollar General . The shelves are empty and the merchandise sits at the end of the isles. The employees are slow and rude. There is no such thing as customer service. Today an employee yelled at my grandson as he tried handing her his items to be scanned. The employee stated "she was to busy helping other customers and she didn't have time to ring up his items or to blow up the balloon he had asked for. Little did she know myself and his grandfather was standing right next to him. I told the employee that she will ring his items up and get his balloon as we were ALL checking out as a family. She then continued mumbling under her breathe. This Dollar General in Luverne MN lacks workers and is poorly ran. My family will never do business there again.

This is the third time this month I've arrived at this store to find they are closed at a random time. This time, despite the fact that it was still 10 minutes before the random closing time on their sign, store was still closed. Staff seemed to be barricading the door refusing to acknowledge anyone outside who wanted in. Do yourself a big favor. Avoid the aggravation, and go almost anywhere else!

Many rack carts outside store filled with flattened cardboards and especially in the aisles full of products that needs to go on display, creates hazards, narrowness and uneasiness while shopping. Tornado warning was in effect and one of those rack carts outside hit a car's front end & toppled over. No employee came out to clean it up but a thoughtful shopper hauled everything back to the entrance.

This store has been going downhill for at least a couple of years. It was not uncommon to see aisles nearly completely blocked off with boxes of unstocked merchandise, a line at the checkout, and only one visible employee working in the entire store. That was when they were actually open. Now, they are open for maybe three hours per day, and those hours seem to change frequently. They don't even have the courtesy to update their hours online, so you never actually know when they are open until you pull into the parking lot and read whatever handwritten sign they have in the window that week. I'm not sure what the issue is, but I simply can't give this store a good review in its current state. It's even more frustrating that this is now the only general retailer in Luverne.

Getting worse everyday! Isles blocked! Lines backed up and only 1 cashier! not clean in store...I walk in and instead of a store it's like a casino! A gamble cause nothing on the shelves that you need! Needs to get there act together and quickly!!!!

Love that we have this business in town, nice to be able to stop and grab a couple things on the way home without spending a small fortune... until it's time to check out. Per usual, stopped today for one thing and had to wait in the line of 12 people with only one cashier working. Today I also overheard a customer ask which aisle to find an item and the associate was very condescending with their reply. Same associate was called up front to assist with a price check and was a complete jerk to the elderly lady that had already mentioned she just didn't want the item anymore. The associates are usually rude and incredibly slow to help customers, which makes it a very unpleasant place to shop.

Store is in trouble condition. Isle's are too narrow, shelves are virtually empty. Freezer section at one point had MOLD in it.This store needs MORE help than it has now (with only two people working the store. The GM or however, needs to give this store a BIG HELPING HAND. Maybe this company only cares about the 1.2 million dollar in revenue this store brings in than it does about its employee's and customer's. This store is a lawsuit waiting to happen !!!

Since this is one of the only places on town to get some household items at expected prices, and will be the only place after shopko closes, I actually tend to go here when needing the things I can't wait to be delivered from Walmart/ Amazon etc.The store would be significantly easier to be in if it was picked up and didn't have stuff constantly sitting in aisles waiting to be put out. I can tell they're extremely busy and short staffed. Hopefully they can get some help soon.

Was in Store Saturday the 20th and Sunday the 21st. There were no wipes for the carts both days. Truck had just come on Saturday and shelves were empty. Came back Sunday and shelves were still empty. The carts with items to be unloaded were in the rows and blocking items. I really want to support this store but they make it really hard to unfortunately.

The store had a nice variety of items, but everything was a mess, and it was very hard to move around. They had alot of carts of stuff blocking aisles. A local person shopping there told me it's always like that, and they are very understaffed.

Friendly workers , wide variety of items and selection . items such as laundry and dish detergent , cleaners and more for just a $1.00 . yet still has the name brands . many grocery items even large cooler with milk , etc. And frozen foods , cute apparel and home decor . many beauty baby and health products. And much more .

It's a pretty typical Dollar General. It's pretty well organized. Always clean when I'm there. Staff is always been polite to me.I really have no complaints about this place.

Large variety of items at cheap prices. Staff, however, leave something to be desired. On one occasion, when trying to return an item, I was treated rudely. On another occasion, I asked for assistance with a large item, and waited a good ten minutes before being helped.

Very busy looked like they where short help but Everyone was working there butt's off. Got my food fresh and hot. Tasted outstanding thank you for all the hard work.
