They were gracious enough to refund us when we decided we weren't going to ski a 4th day despite us renting for 4 days. The doggos running around the store made the experience even better.

Yoko and staff were very patient, friendly, and helpful as we rented equipment for skiing. Knowledgeable and gracious when we returned with a broken pole. Equipment was clean and high quality. Three fun mascots (dogs!) make the experience even better. Highly recommend using their services.

Out-west ski shop experience right here in MN. Friendly, knowledgeable staff who will help you out if you're in a bind. Great selection of demo skis & boots, even in uncommon sizes. They'll even discount the rental price if you choose to purchase them. Can easily swap equipment to try all kinds of ski varieties during your stay. At only ~1 mile from the base, with later evening hours, it's definitely worth a stop in. Bonus: adorable, polite shop doggies! I'll definitely be back with my friends the next time I visit!

We did the demo ski rental. The staff was exceptionally knowledgeable of their demo equipment. The technician had previously skied the equipment and was really able to guide us to the best skis. The rental prices were very reasonable. We have demoed out west previously and would have say lutsen rec was the best demo experience we have had.

It was only my second time skiing in over 15 years but the staff was very helpful to me and my sisters who have never been skiing before. This is definitely a cool family owned business ran by the tall guy with his nice wife and kids.

Awesome service, very knowledgeable and experienced staff.They'll actually take the time to fit your boots to your feet, whereas at the base they just ask you for your shoe size and throw you some boots.If you're going to rent skis at Lutsen, rent them here!

What do I even say?Where do I start?Can I just state that this place is the heart and soul of skiing here in MN?No, there is so much more to discuss....The sound frequency that these folks are on is better than the Boston Symphony Orchestra. If you want to visit an accidental dog sanctuary look no further. If you want to make a recreational winter sport involving two sticks the dictator of your life they will gladly assist you along in the journey to autocracy. When you are ending your day on the chair lift contemplating the existential experience you had while skiing the 2.309" of snow the resort got that day, Lutsen Rec will be there for you when you're ready to talk.Not to mention they will also; hook you up with whatever equipment you need whether it's just rental skis or you're buying a whole package, help you understand what type of skier you are so you can make informed decisions, give you pro tips on everything from not wearing a sock embroidered with pom poms on it to how to power ski.Bonus- they also carry environmentally focused brands that make socks, base layers, pants, jackets, backpacks and waxes. Whenever I'm in a pickle or am intentionally buying it's hard not to choose them. They never product push and won't sell you something that isn't right for you. Also if you are interested in xc, tele or bc skiing in MN they will get you the info you need.I <3 this mom-and-pop shop and its community. If you want to too, you should check them out.

The price of renting ski equipment is cheaper than that of the ski resort, and the boss is humorous and patient. Many small problems can be solved! Excellent
