We take all four of our animals here for regular check ups, specialty service, and spay/neuter. We are always treated well and the vet explains everything and all the options. I never feel pressured to do extra or expensive procedures for diagnosis, and do feel they recommend what the best options are for the treatment. They are very careful to keep pets comfortable and pain free as possible, and the vet techs always take patient and kind care when trying to calm pets for treatment and physicals. It’s a 30 minute drive for us, but so worth it!

I have a golden retriever who is 4 years old that in the past year I’ve been bringing her to different vets trying to figure out what is wrong with her. From bleeding from her mouth, to bumps on her body, to ripping her hair out & goopy eyes, lethargic, depression, pain. I was devastated thinking I’d never get a diagnosis without paying thousands of dollars. I was at the verge of surrendering her to make sure someone could be able to pay for all the expenses to fix her because I was hurt seeing her in pain constantly and unable to determine what was wrong with her due to having not enough funds. Dr. Whitney took this in her own hands and took the time out of her day to research and use all of the knowledge she knew to figuring out that Bella had a rare genetic disorder. She ruled out that we try steroids (that would tell us which disorder it was if it worked) and sure enough my dog is back to normal! I haven’t seen her like this for over a year and she’s 100 percent back to her old self if not even better!!! No more bad skin, fur looks amazing, no more eye goop, lethargic, depression, pain. She’s a happy dog again!!!! I am so very grateful for this vet!!!! They care so much about the animals that come in! Highly recommend! I also want to give the polite and amazing vet techs & employees in the entire place a great review too because they were all super nice & respectful and understanding!!!! Thank you!!!!

I am new in town, and I was worried about going to a new vet because our dog is family, and I want the best for him. I feel so lucky this Vet office is in my town! The staff is very nice and caring. The Dr. is amazing at her job. The care is affordable too! My dog had a cleaning with 3 extractions and I was really nervous about the procedure and cost. The whole thing went smoothly and the staff did a great job and the price was better than I expected. I 100% recommend this place to anyone looking for a great place to bring their furry family members.

Really nice staff who took a nice time to meet with our girls and address concerns, even noticed something our previous vet missed

I don’t even know where to begin. My dog hurt his leg playing outside. I called my vet (not Pet Stop) the next day for them to see him and they told me the soonest they could see him was over a month out...for an injury! So I called around to every vet in the area and more and no one had openings. I finally reached Pet Stop and I am so grateful I did. They were more than understanding of my situation and were so kind. They were able to get me in and never made me feel like an inconvenience even though my dog was extremely difficult. They were so understanding of his issues and were so nice about everything, unlike my other vet clinic that seemed frustrated and at one point said they wouldn’t even see him if he wasn’t sedated. I am so glad I found Pet Stop because it is the only place I will be taking my dog for now on even if I have to drive a little ways. They were so kinda and patient and treated us so well even thinking we weren’t going to come back because of the drive. I have nothing negative to say about my experience! Plus their pricing is extremely reasonable.

We are so glad we found the Pet Stop Clinic. The staff is personable, they take the time to get to know you and your pets and it feels like you've known them forever! The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and just so nice to work with! Dr. Whitney is very personable, knowledgeable, and always gives us options on our dogs treatments, along with giving us pricing beforehand so we are not surprised when we see our bill. Their prices are very reasonable, the best that we've seen, (and we've been to numerous vets before this). We've never felt like other clinics actually cared about our animals, it always felt like they were just a business. The staff at Pet Stop really care about your pet and really take the time to explain everything, instead of just rushing you out the door. I can't say enough good things about the Pet Stop Clinic, we are so lucky to have found them, they're the best!!!

I own several dogs and other animals, and have owned few more throughout my years. Recently one of my foster dogs had an extremely sore rear paw. I had never been to Pet Stop before, although I have heard good things. I will say I have never seen more caring staff at a vet than I did here. The vet tech sat cross-legged on the floor and held my girl close to make her feel safe as the vet did her examination. She spoke softly in her ear and pet her softly. I was more than impressed with how caring they are.

Unexpectedly had to put our oldest kitty down during the peak of the pandemic. The staff here treated us like family, let us spend time with him to say goodbye, and let one of us stick with him til the end. All late on a Friday in May. Really a great bunch of people. I can imagine they’re just as compassionate (if not more so) to their usual customers too.

Dr. Whitney and her staff are wonderful. When it was time to put our beloved dog to sleep, they were just as upset as we were. They are very caring ladies and always go out of their way to make you and your pet comfortable. They are always up front with fees and are very reasonable. No surprises at check out. Love them. We have no problem referring people to their care.

I first visited Pet Stop on the recommendation of a patient of mine. The New Market location certainly isn't a fancy place, so I was feeling a bit reluctant. I quickly realized that the exceptional, thoughtful care shined so much brighter than the simple facade of the building and clinic. We went through an absolutely terrible disease with our dog that most dogs don't survive, but ours did thanks to Dr. Whitney and her thorough care. If she is stumped, she takes the time to research and collaborate with her peers all over the cities to find the answers. Her staff are also top-notch and so patient with me as I tend to ask lots of questions! I am so grateful that we found this wonderful group of people. I have dozens of vets closer to my house, but I don't hesitate to drive farther to see the ladies at Pet Stop!

The doctor is knowledgeable and friendly. The staff is incredibly helpful and understanding. They listen well and will try to squeeze you into their day if you need it. My pet even got a mini-exam in the waiting room to determine whether she needed a full appointment! They sell you what you need, not what will make them the most money. Most of all, they support your pets from birth to death. I just brought my kitty there to be cremated and they were very empathetic.

I’ve been clients of them even before they moved to lonsdale, my FOUR dogs are usually seen by dr. Whitney but the young vet wanted to charge me as an urgent care to squeeze me in for an ear infection… ear infection! at 2:55pm! I thought urgent care is after hours! Totally disappointed, after years of being clients of them!! Time to find another Veterinay!

This veterinary couldn't be better. First and foremost -- the price is right! But not only that, the couple of times I have needed something ASAP for my cat, they have worked me in, even when I knew it was not convenient. The doctor is upfront with you about what she sees and is honest about the assessment. She does not sell you stuff you do not need or charge you for pointless stuff that you do not really know what it is. I have been to a few vet clinics in the city and they are not nearly as friendly or efficient. It just seems like everyone is so nice, especially the receptionist/secretary. You will not be disappointed!-Gal with 2 cats and 1 dog

On Memorial day, our cat went into labor, after 3 hours we still didn't have any kitten so we started call around to local vet clinics. The Dr called us back right away to talk about what was going on and what we should do (we had never been to the clinic before). She called us back again to check on progress and said we should bring cat in. She told us all costs right over phone. One of the kitten had some trouble but they were able to save her. We gained 4 little kittens that day and a new vet. The vet techs are always very friendly. I have been to 3 other Vet clinics in the past, the service here has been the best. They are very affordable and caring. My pets (6 indoor cats, 2 feral cat and 2 dogs) all enjoy going there. The Pet clinic looks like a house, so it helps our pets feel like they are going to visit a family friend and not a clinic.

Very loving and caring staff! We have brought each of our cats here for cat and have never been disappointed. They saved my cat's life when she nearly died, they have provided ongoing care with well visit checks and they even sat next to us and comforted us when we had to put our beloved cat down when he reached the end of his life. Amazing group of people!

It’s hard to describe just how much we love and appreciate Dr. Whitney and her staff. We drive from Lakeville and it’s 100% worth it. Dr. Whitney has gone above and beyond to support us (e.g. many caring and helpful phone calls as we were navigating our 14.5-year-old Min Pin’s end of life) and the care our pets have received from all of the staff has been top notch. Their rates are extremely reasonable, too. Highly recommend this wonderful vet office!

This is by far hands down one of the best Vet clinics in the state. We have a Great Dane and a small little Yorkie (Yes, he gives the big guy a run for his money). Dr. Whitney is a remarkanle Veterinarian and shows a true passion for this field and love towards all the animals that come through the door. We have been going to them for a couple years now and have always been pleased with the pricing and excellent care our pups have received. I would also like to mention that the Vet Techs are very polite and extremely knowledgable. I would highly recommend Dr. Whitney and her staff. We will continue to drive 40 mins to them because of their amazing care and love for the animals they see.

I was raised on a dairy with a 20 stall herringbone barn and automatic milk machine detatchers (a LOT of cattle) operating 24/7. We did much of our own vet work. Although I'm not involved with farming anymore, I know a good vet. Over the years we've had a few decent vets but Dr. Whitney is the best.Without going into details, during a procedure our cat had an allergic reaction that *no vet* could have anticipated. No matter how careful or cautious a person is no one can know everything. Dr. Whitney went above and beyond anything I have seen in any kind of business to try to take care of the cat. She and her staff literally babysat our cat day and night, and nursed it back to health, for nearly a week. No one does that these days. She and her staff are conscientious, work hard, and do all they can. After going to them for a bit over 6 years, we have found Dr. Whitney and her staff to be thorough, detail oriented, and very considerate. They are very reasonably priced and go out of their way to take care of your pets. My only regret is their move from Elko to Lonsdale. But, we still make the trip to her new location for service. As a sidenote, before finding Pet Stop we had a nearly 15 year-old cat who was vomiting and having breathing issues. We took the cat to one vet who suggested a $2,500 exploratory surgery where he also said that they never really find anything but somehow it seems to release the demons and the cat is often healed afterward. A little while after that we went to Dr. Whitney where she spent a lot of time examining the cat, and noticed a lot of fluid in the lungs. She drained as much fluid as possible and sampled the fluid. She was very kind and considerate in talking to my wife about the fact that it was later stages of congestive heart failure. The cat did not make it a lot longer, but, she was successful in giving the cat several days for us to say our goodbyes. Without her intervention that day I doubt the cat would have made it through the night. The $2,500 surgery from the other vet would have been unsuccessful and the cat would most certainly have died from the un-diagnosed heart condition.Dr. Whitney and her staff have consistently shown they are conscientious and hard working in taking care of your pets. They seem to recognize they are dealing with an extended member of the family.

Very helpful folks. I came to the Pet Stop Veterinary Clinic for my backyard chickens as they exhibited signs of worms. The staff were very helpful and did their research to best assist me and my small flock of birds. I appreciated the fact that I did not have to bring one of my ISA Brown's with me. They simply had me bring some of their manure to sample. Other clinics requested I bring my bird and created more inefficiency then necessary. They were very easy to work with! Two thumbs up.

Dr. Whitney and all of the girls at the Pet Stop have bent over backwards to treat all of my Chocolate labs. They have come in after hours, at night when Nestle was very sick. I have received nothing but the finest care from all at the Pet Stop. I will continue to bring my Boys to them forever. I recommend them with the highest regard. Thanks , Dave.Update, 12/14/15 Just got a new pup, Woody's little brother, had his first visit today with Dr. Whitney. They fit him in after just getting him 2 days ago. The care is top notch. My three dogs will never go anywhere else. Thanks.

Dr Whitney and her staff are fabulous. I have brought all of my animals here for the past few years. I have had emergency issues during regular and non business hours and they are always quick to return phone calls, make time for your pets, and will come in for emergency situations. Dr Whitney and the vet techs treat your pets like they are part of thier family. They always ask how everyone is doing even when you are in to just pick up prescriptions or supplies. I just moved quite a distance from the office but I will continue to make the drive to Elko New Market to bring my cat and dog in for care.

Awesome group of people. Dr. Whitney and her staff have gone above and beyond so many times for our fur family members. From our lab that had a tumor in her neck to our coonhound that has a pacemaker (yes, a pacemaker) they have helped us through it all. They are extremely knowledgeable and beyond helpful.

Our first time was great! The staff was friendly and the vet was very knowledgeable. Took take of our Clyde. She was very honest, at no point did we feel pressured. We will recommend Pet Stop to our friends and family. We will be back for years to come.

I had to put my two sweet 17 & 19 yo cats down...my "regular" clinic was the most horrible experience ever...I decided to move on. I called a trusted friend and she referred me to Pet Stop. They were the most wonderful caring staff....they did what they said and said what they did. Although it was a very difficult decision, they were truly comforting and caring.

Quick Review : Awesome Honest Affordable Care!Full Story: I found a new cross breed of English Mastiff and Great Dane [called a Daniff]. We located an available puppy in Ohio. I drove from Minnesota all the way there and got the puppy. We noticed some small bumps on her head. When I arrived back into town I called and found we could get her in at the Pet Stop. We had her all checked out and they recommended bringing her back the next day to biopsy the bumps. The next day came and our little Daniff was very tired. Super tired and they did not like the looks of her. Over the day we ran a few carefully selected tests, but she would not eat making a stool sample an issue. Finally at the end of the day she went potty. Through the sample we discovered she had the Parvo Virus. This was not good news. It meant HUGE costs and without treatment (1st Class treatment) she would likely die. [91% probability of death actually.]They recommended a few places and most were so expensive. Even the reasonable places were starting at $1,000 plus meds and that was for one day with overnight care. Dr. Whitney then offered to help us out.The entire clinic came together (including their amazing children) and provided 4 nights of ICU 24 hour care. Wed-Sunday afternoon they looked after our new baby puppy and brought her back from the brink. We were called about every test. Given opportunities to try and keep the bill low and most importantly on Sunday received a healthy dog on the road to full recovery. Dr Whitney, Techs Brit and Christa and their tremendous kids Lilly and Brianna all pulled together to save our puppy. We investigated the costs at several places and Owner/Dr. Whitney helped in every way she could. Her care/team are a difference maker and in our opinion are the soul reason we have our new family pet.You go get your pricey vet in their $300,000 facility and I'll take the girls at The Pet Stop. A+ team!

When we originally decided on Pet Stop to put our 14yo lab down, it was because of their pricing. But after witnessing their care for our dog whom they had never met before. It was easy to see the 45-60 minute drive is worth every second. They now care for all our animals.

Wow! I don't know where to start. I will try to make a very long story short.I adopted a 3 month old male Blue Tick Beagle named Buddy almost 8 years ago when I lived in St Paul, MN and we had a pretty good Vet up the street from us. No problems but nothing major ever came up with his health. We moved to St Louis Park almost 4 years ago and I tried to find a Vet close to our home and the nightmare began. It is an absolute shame how Vets care more about making a ton of money than the health of your animal. After going through two other animal hospitals I ended up going to a place called Oak Knoll Animal Hospital in St Louis Park. Well they really know how to screw up an animal. Buddy had his first surgery at Oak Knoll with complications and had to be ran into the emergency animal hospital two days later and just figured it was a normal issue that could occur. Then Buddy was taken back to Oak Knoll for a Anal Gland problem which was part of the problem the first surgery. Here is were the worst part of the nightmare began. They said he had a infected gland and they could fix it by injecting it with antibiotics. Well he went in and had it done and ended up with a serious infection within 5 days. We took him back and they said he is fine and continue with the antibiotics. Well the antibiotics they gave him was making him sick. Well the bottom-line Buddy got so sick. The Vet said we can give you something for his stomach but if you are concern we can perform surgery for thousands more. Well thousands of dollars later without additional surgeries yet and my dog in grave condition I didn't know where to turn. I would do anything for my dog. My neighbor said you need to go to The Pet Stop in Elko they are the best. Which I was still skeptical being I had been to numerous Vets.Well I decided to drive down to Elko to meet with Dr. Whitney which I call Dr. Wendy.WOW! What a breath of fresh air. I finally found a Vet that truely loves animals along with the rest of her AWESOME staff. This is a Vet that cares about the well being of animals. When we arrived Buddy was in pretty bad shape. She ran numerous test and went over Buddy with a fine tooth comb, ultra-sound, blood work and even called a specialist for additional feedback. Two weeks ago Buddy was suffering from a serious infection as well as ruptured anal gland. I really thought we were going lose him which would of been incredibly devastating. I was in tears.Dr. Whitney recommended we get Buddy in for surgery right away to remove the abscessed and anal gland which is a specialized surgery. She called in Dr. Brian Rose which is a specialist. They performed the surgery but were still a bit concerned due to the seriousness of the infection. It was Labor Day weekend and Dr. Wendy called at least twice a day to check on Buddy. Dr. Rose also did the same. They both even said if we need to stop by your house we can so to check on him.Well it has been just over two weeks since surgery. Buddy hasn't felt this good in a couple of years. I sooooooo AMAZED by these WONDERFUL caring people at The Pet Stop. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOU! I will never go anywhere else again. It is a 40 minute drive but highly worth it.She even cleaned Buddies teeth for additional hundred dollars. Oak Knoll wanted $850.00 for a teeth cleaning and recommended we have it done every year. The bottom-line is if you are fed up with other Vets go down and give Dr. Whitney a chance. YOU WILL BE AMAZED. Thank you Dr. Wendy and all of your awesome staff. My wife and I are so grateful for everything you have done for us and Buddy is especially grateful and loves all of you!

My cat Vishous was a patient since September 2020. They took awesome care of him and at the end of his life treated him with care and dignity. I thank them for all they did for my kidcat Vishous. And thank them for all they still do to keep our pets, who are members of the family, safe and healthy.
