With Thanksgiving and Christmas coming, I found that I needed to get items that I knew I could find at Coborns. All of my non dairy products for baking and cooking. They also have the best produce in the area. Handicap parking outside. Electric carts just inside the second set of doors. Clean bathrooms in the back.

I have never had an issue at this location before and I frequent it often as it’s on my way home from work. But yesterday I had a horrible experience. When I was getting in line to checkout when another lane opened and the cashier harassed me repeatedly saying “sir come over here” until I did. My partner was with me and so we went over there. We were only purchasing a bag of candy for a trunk or treat event that night and throughout the transaction the cashier kept condescendingly calling my partner sir after everything he said. He then asked if the candy was for Halloween. I said yes as I was pretty annoyed at this point and he said “wow really are you sure? It’s pretty far away!” He then continued to make rude comments until we left and wouldn’t give us a receipt when asked either saying “nope it’s for me”. This man’s name was Jeremy or something like that and he was a younger white guy with red hair. I will be very hesitant to return.

As a writer who typically prefers to express positive feedback, it is with reluctance that I share a negative experience at Coborns. My girlfriend and I recently visited the Long Prairie location to fill up two five-gallon water jugs for our Culligan machine. Upon arrival, we requested caps for the jugs from a staff member at the front desk, who informed us of a charge of $1.79 for the caps. While we were surprised by this as we had not been charged for caps on previous visits, we had no issue with the fee and planned to inform the cashier during checkout.Throughout our shopping experience, we noticed the staff member who had informed us of the chargefor the caps eyeing us as though she suspected us of theft. This made us uncomfortable and we were further disheartened when she later whispered to the cashier to ensure that we were charged for the caps. As loyal customers who regularly spend hundreds of dollars at the store, we felt disrespected and humiliated by the actions of this staff member. We understand the importance of enforcing rules and regulations, but the staff member's approach was inappropriate and led to a negative shopping experience. We are disappointed to say that we will no longer be shopping at Coborns and will be sharing our experience with others who frequent the Long Prairie location. It is our hope that the company takes measures to ensure all customers are treated with respect and dignity.

Not bad for a small community. Not sure if the problem was a customer or the store, but there was a urine odor throughout the store. Prices were higher than expected, but that's every grocery store these days. Overall, it is grocery store.
