Awesome people..I have been going here for over 20 years. The staff is always kind and helpful. My parents started coming here about 15 years ago due to my recommendations. Well again they didn't disappoint, my dog stayed throwing up then had diarrhea for an appointment right away, intestinal bug, the next day my folks dog who is living with me vomited and got me up 15 times during the night, called next morning, got her in she had a terrible UTI. they are both on the mend and feeling much better

LVP is the best around ! Kind, compassionate staff and Dr. Hively is incredible. Our dog Lulu loves going to see everyone there. She jumps right in the car when we tell her we are going to see Dr. Hively. LVP has taken care of all my past dogs through out their whole lifetime. Highly recommended by us and Lulu.

Had an appointment for our dog for normal checkup and shots. We have been regular customers with this vet for a number of years. My wife and I both commute to the cities so our daughter offered to help out by taking the dog for her appointment. Apparently the clinic has a ten minute late policy where they will reschedule appointments if you exceed that ten minutes. She was one minute past the ten minute limit and she even called that she was running late. She took time off from work and drove 30 miles round trip to make the appointment. One minute late, and her effort was wasted. Front desk was rude about is as well. We've used this vet for a few years now but not anymore. If you use this vet in the future you better synchronize watches with them. Not sure what they would have done if it was 30 seconds past the late limit. Guessing they would have sent her packing anyway.

I would trust them to care for my pet any day of the week. You can tell the folks at LPVC truly love their jobs and the animals they care for. Lester Prarie Vet was phenominal to me and my dog.My dog Norde got into some paintballs while I was gone that nearly killed him. I took him to the emergency vet and they did nothing for me other than tell me to put him down. I called lester Prarie as soon as they opened and they greeted me wonderfully. They knew immediatly the odds wernt good but they told me they would do everything they could for him and boy did they ever. When I had to leave him with them I saw him able to look at me through his haze for the first time. Still motionless. When I came to pick him up I was terrified at what I may find. I said his name, and he popped his head up slowly. Still weak but happy to see me. I'm happy to say that he has made a full recovery and I am so thankful to the spirits of these people and the care they had for us.

I give one star because I have to. I'm a medically retired person with a low income. I have a medically needed support dog that is sick. This vet clinic will not work with me. I can't pay the same day. But can when I get my Social security check. They are worried about lining their pockets with money rather than the Medical needs of the animals. It's my opinion you should go to a different vet clinic.In response to your response to my post. There was never anything mentioned about not taking new clients. Only that you only do same day pay. I don't care for you saying something that never happened. As far as the vet credit card thing whatever it is. I think is selfish way to practice. We know your pet needs help. But no not until you get some sort of credit card.Pure greed and absolutely disgusting to me. And yes I had already tried the nonprofit and several other options. I would imagine you would rather have this on a phone call rather like this. You could have talked to me about it when I first called.

It was my first time here. I brought my sister's dog in to get an evaluation. They were super friendly. Super accommodating. And did everything they could to check and see what the problem could possibly have been. They even let me call my sister and talk to her on the phone to let her know what they would have liked to do and accepted payment from her over the phone. Absolutely a wonderful place to bring your little addition to your family to get good care.

After moving this direction I decided to seek out Lester Prairie Vet for my dogs. They have always had great customer service and treat you and your pet with great care and concern. I had a dog that had allergies and they were awesome and patient in helping me address this and were proactive moving forward in guiding me to help avoid flares. Also I had to put my beloved pet down after years of care. They helped as he transitioned into old age and guided me with ways to help keep him as healthy as possible and offer up a good quality of life while he was aging. When it came time to say goodbye, they were so kind and compassionate. Since this sort of decision is so difficult, I felt thankful that I had established a relationship with them over the years, and they knew my dog well and had given him great care.

They always give THE BEST care possible to each animal, and you can tell they all genuinely want the best thing for you and your pet. Extremely compassionate and accommodating staff!! Highly recommend! My dog’s neck swelled suddenly one day and it was affecting his breathing. So I frantically called every local vet to see if I could bring him in to be seen that day. After many failed attempts with every other vet clinic that I had called, the Lester Prairie Vet clinic stated they would talk to the veterinarian and call me right back. The veterinarian working that day called me back within 10 minutes and asked me a few more questions about my dogs neck swelling and then stated that they would see him during their lunch break that day. When I brought in my dog they brought me and my daughter into an exam room immediately and the vet was waiting in the room to exam my dog. The vet then asked the vet assistant if she would show my daughter the other animals that were there and if she would like to help feed them, etc. Once my daughter was out of the room, the vet told me that my dog had cancer, which is what she had suspected after talking to me on the phone. She educated me on my dogs diagnosis and discussed different care options and my dog’s prognosis. Before I left, we had a plan of care, I knew what I was to do, what to watch for, what to expect, and reassurance that I’d know when my dog was ready to be “put to sleep”. And I was told that when it was that time to put my dog down, to call and they would squeeze us in, which is exactly what they did. They were extremely kind and respectful during the process; explained exactly what was going to happen, answered our questions, let us have as much time as we needed, and gave my dog a blanket to lay wrapped up in, and had cremation services available. After everything was done, they sent a card, a paw print in clay, flower seeds to plant in remembrance, a certificate of death, and my dogs ashes in a nice velvety bag with his name and date of death embroidered on it. They even worked with me on paying the bill (which was a lot less than I was expecting it to be).

Great Vet Clinic! Super caring staff! I have only had caring and compassionate understanding from the vets and the support staff! They were willing to go out of their way to help when we had to put our dog down. They did a great job going through the process of what would happen as our dog was put to sleep. My 9 year old was sad, but they helped her understand in a very caring way! Great clinic and would highly recommend!

The team here at Lester Prairie Vet is so kind and helpful. Great service with a small town country vibe - feels like you are getting help from friends and they really care.They have treated all 4 of the dogs I've owned in my adult life, with great care and concern. Dr. Hively is an amazing woman who had rejoiced over new puppies with me, and held me as I cried at their end of life passing.I even just recently moved 10 miles further away and still make the trek back there just to see them all when my dogs need to be seen.

Best vet clinic I've been to. After bouncing around (due to moves and not caring much for previous vets), I am so happy I found LP Vet! Dr. Danielle is so sweet- she always remembers me and my pets. They are very reasonably priced. My experience is that they don't like to over-treat my pets, which I appreciate. I've had lots of other vets prescribe medication after medication to see if anything works without first figuring out what is wrong.

Hands down THE BEST vet clinic I have been to! The staff has been extremely friendly, helpful and hopeful regarding my dog. I also appreciate the fact that they provide an estimate of services prior to doing anything and they helped me explore my options in different price ranges. It means a lot that they've called every week, just to check on my dog's progress on his path to wellness. It is clear Dr. Hively is knowledgeable and passionate about her job. I felt as though she treated my dog with the same care and compassion that she would her own pets. I honestly can't say enough good things about this clinic. EXTREMELY HAPPY with my service. I will definitely be back with my other pets and family members' pets.

Very unprofessional staff. We had an appointment scheduled and went to bring our dog in and they said it was canceled due to not confirming although we did. So we rescheduled for another day. We then called to reschedule the appointment due to being out of town and because we had the nerve to question why our 1st appointment was canceled and were upset we were told that our new appointment had been canceled and we we would not be allowed to make appointments any longer.I have been in the service Industry for 20+ years and value my customers greatly and if I ran my business the way they do I wouldn't have a business.I feel with the shortage of available veterinarians right now they can do anything they want with no real consequences and they have no regard of how it effects their "clients"Very disappointed in how we were treated and would definitely not recommend this vet clinic. The front desk staff is very rude and unprofessional.
