The best small town grocery store we've been to. The prices are very reasonable, employees are super nice, and the selection of meats, pickles, veggies, and all kinds of snacks is top notch. The take and bake pizza is AMAZING, hands down way better then the junk they sell for twice the price in Walker. The Mack's big dogs are PHENOMENAL. Could eat them everyday and never get sick of them. A great place! I will miss it a lot when vacation is over.

Very well stocked and convenient went up to the cabin and needed a couple extra things. Of course prices will be a little bit higher that's given. Still would return if I need items.

Luckily I drive by this grocery store almost everyday because they have the best meat I’ve ever cooked with and eaten! for thanksgiving we made a smokehouse ham and it was the best ham I’ve ever eaten in my 43 years. It’s a must try if you haven’t already. And thank you to all that work here, you’re all always so nice and helpful. It’s so nice to walk into a store and be greeted and not feel like you’re putting anyone out no matter what time of day it is. Thank you again and happy thanksgiving and thank you again for the wonderful dinner we just had.

We are visiting and they where closing and let us still shop. Patty and the other young gal where AMAZING!! Thank you so very much! Even helped us carry bags to our car! Patty was very patient with my husband who is a stroke survivor! We always feel at home up here!! Hope to make it our home someday soon in our retired years if not sooner 😊

Nice little neighborhood grocery. They have a nice selection of stuff and great meats. They have their own butcher shop that makes a great selection of stuff. Well worth the trip. Very helpful staff. Update: they make great pizza and the roast I bought was great too. Large selection of spices and BBQ sauces. Better than the big stores.

Has the best selection of ice cream in Minnesota. Wish there ice cream would stay open longer. They have everything you need for conveniences and their sausage and meats are well known and delicious. Plenty of parking and nicely located by the kids playground in the center of town.

Stopped here saturday for a take and bake pizza. The young woman assisting us was very sweet and made one of the most amazing take and bake pizzas we've ever had! We'll definitely drive out of our way to get one next time we're in Walker!

Great store! The butcher counter is the highlight and brats are AMAZING ad have lots of adventurous flavors. Five dollar minimum on a credit card, but there is also a ATM on site.

Graig, the proprietor, has worked very hard to build this fine meat market. The issue that really sets this store apart is the the Smoke House (Macs Smoke House) and Graig's skill as a master sausage maker.The Smoke House produces fine bacon, smoked meats, including a wide variety of smoked sausage, jerky and fabulous bacon. The piece de resistance of this Smoke House are the fine hams. They have perfect flavor, color and texture. They are lightly salted. They would get high praise in any English country town or French village.He English sausages are a masterpiece. They are a perfect reproduction of the famed English "Banger". These just have to be sampled.In addition, their is a fine selection of fine beef and pork to be had. One of the things I like is that he has wonderful marrow bones, with lots of meat on the bones. These are perfect for producing the finest beef stocks. Fine stocks are one of the foundation pillars of fine cooking. These marrow bones are the perfect starting point.In addition you can stay for lunch and sample the hamburgers made from the finest ground beef.This store justifies a long detour not to miss what is on offer here.

Great little grocer in the middle nowhere! We were staying in Lake George for a week and needed stuff late our 1st evening and found the Laporte Grocery. They have everything you need in a relatively small space!

Friendly service You can also enjoy ur meal in the store if you prefer seated In window booths With a view of the park/play ground.

OK this review is relative. It's the only grocery store within 10-15 miles. They have a bit of everything. Seriously fresh meat in the deli. Lots of local meat and produce. Video rentals. Even a cafe/ restaurant grill open most of the day. Friendly small town atmosphere every single time you come in. If nothing else a time saver keeping you from having to drive to bemidji or Walker.
