We really enjoyed our first camping trip in 8 years. My 3 teens lived being by the Root River and catching fish, crayfish and just having a great time. My wife and I thought the campground bathrooms were very nice and cleaned often. The showers are nice and will cost .25 cents for 4 minutes, no issue, just bring quarters. My whole family went tubing on Saturday and had a great time going slowly down the Root River. The office staff were kind and friendly throughout our stay. We even forgot the poles to our tent, and they provided us with options that allowed us to stay and enjoy our trip.My family highly recommends staying at Eagle Cliff campground!Aaron and Family

We have seasonal camped at Eagle Cliff for over 8 years, and it is by far the cleanest, most well-kept campground I've experienced. The owners are very helpful when needed, but don't hover. They provide just the right amount of activities, live bands, seasonal get-togethers, community service projects, and just all around good family fun. The perfect place to be active or do nothing but relax! I would highly recommend their campground!Nearby activities: Hiking, biking, tubing, kayaking and swimming available.Noteworthy details: Picturesque views!

This is our “go to” campground in the bluff country area along the root river near Lanesboro. Access to the river for tubing, canoeing, and kayaking is great with transportation up river available for a modest fee; the long and well-paved state bike trail is peaceful and scenic along the river. We love the modern full hookups and pull-through sites. There is no pool, hot tub, club house, or restaurant on site. I recommend the cream shop and Sylvan Brewery for a great variety and delicious beer in Lanesboro.

We went camping at this campsite the day after Memorial Day. It was very quiet after the holiday! We loved our stay! The campground is pristine. My dog was so happy to run on the soft grass and I was also walking around our campsite with no shoes on! On top of that, I have never been in a cleaner campground bathroom! I would highly recommend this campsite.

We spent a week at Eagle Cliff. The staff were friendly, the grounds and bathrooms/showers kept clean. They had a DJ on Friday night and live music on Saturday. Our only "complaint" would be we were in a newer section and they did not have mature trees so the sun beat down on us all week. Give it a couple of years and the trees will provide nice shade. We had full hookups on a pull thru site. The pull through was gravel. I would recommend this campground.

There are a few motel type rooms for rent. We did not see them. Everything here is immaculately clean so I'm sure the rooms are as well. We tent camp, are right on the Root River close to the landing for tubing, canoes and kayaks. About 250 sites, mixed seasonal RV, nightly RV and tent. Laundry rooms and shower rooms are spotlessly clean. Ice, firewood, propane tanks and a few basic groceries available on site, as well as tubes, bicycles, kayaks, and canoes. Extensive bike trail access. Noted that a local liquor store delivers to campgrounds on Saturdays. Shuttle service available for tubing, trip ends at campground. Staff are friendly and easy to find. Live music on site on weekendsNearby activities: Bike trail available on the other side of the river. Multiple access points. I noted a pull behind cart for kids with the rental bikes.

This place is really pretty and has super nice accommodations. The only thing is someone at the camp ground was setting off fireworks, illegal one in MN. It was not posted that it was a planned event. We had someone who has seizures in our group, that was not cool and the staff didn't do anything about it, it was going on for about two hours. I would think with a place that allows dogs that fireworks would be a no or at least give people the heads up before letting it happen.

Cleanest campground and best one we have been to. Management and staff really keep the place clean and nice. There are a lot of rules but very worth it. Only need to remember quarters for the shower but the camp store is helpful if you forget.

Wifi needs to be tweaked a bit, about 10% more upload speed would fix a lot of things. If you stay in the seasonal sites area, expect powersaw and lawn mower up to 9pm and at 7am. The staff was great, the price is good. Store had needed items. Wood was a little pricey for the small bundle that it was. Loosely connected to bike trail, you have to ride on the highway for 1/4 mile.

We've been here multiple times, and we are always pleased about the condition of the grounds, friendly staff, and the roominess of the lot sizes. We love full service and there are many lots to accommodate that. The many amenities unique to this place are much more than we expected - kayaking, canoeing, biking, the enjoyable proximity to the Root River, visiting Lanesborough just down the road. tenting or motel room options, and the owners' care about their visitors' safety with an enforcement of a 5 mile per hour rule. We love this place! We will come again many times.

We had THE best weekend here. The campground is pretty laid back. We stayed in the tent area right by the river and had a great view of the bluffs. The staff are all friendly and accommodating. Even made sure we got 2 side by side spots next to our friends. The showers and restrooms are really clean. Tubing the river was a blast and we can't wait to visit again. We talked about making it a yearly thing. Give this place a try! It's a gem!

This is a lovely park located on the banks of the Root River. I received a warm welcome. If you are a casual or big-time biker, the trail is a short distance away, cross the bridge in Whalen and you are on on the trail. The park is immaculately maintained! While there are many "seasonal" residents, their sites are beautifully maintained, almost like there is a contest for who can have the best hosta or flower garden. These sites are seasonal not permanant. This income stream may help with the beatifully landscaped grounds and buildings, and I was more than happy to benefit from that! My site was very spacious. If you are coming to SE Minnesota, don't miss this campground. I camped at Eagle Cliff Campground & Lodging in a Motorhome.Noteworthy details: Bike Trail and small town SE Minnesota.

We love this campground. We've been here 4 times and we plan to come back. The grounds are clean and well maintained. The bathhouse is very clean. It's fun to rent tubes or kayaks and go down the river. Great fly fishing in the area. You can walk or take bikes into town for fun too!

Excellent campground, meticulously cared for, well managed. 3 comments--->1) Pretty cheesy to charge for taking a shower! Haven't experienced vend showers in over 40 years at any campground! 2) I get the grass is super nice, but at least allow folks to put down a small entrance mat at camper door to keep it clean. 3) If you are going to force people to purchase your firewood, don't price gouge it please!? $7 for a very small bundle of wood.. yikes!

Very pretty campground. Grass is very green and lush. Bathrooms were ports potties. Up by the office was the pay shower. Customer service is awful. Owner chased us down and scolded us FOREVER about the 5 mph speed limit. Got it the first time he said something. Didn’t need to be scolded. He also skulked around the campground after dark in his golf cart (with his headlights off) and then would spring to life to chastise campers about quiet time. Very odd!! The river was running fast. There was no help at the landing. The current was to strong for me to make the landing. I kept going and aimed for some branches. I waited quite awhile for a rescue. The campground told our party they better drive to Whalen and wait for me. They offered zero help. Other campers helped me back to shore. Thank God! Best not go into the bathroom with dirty feet either. Chastised and scolded again after my near death experience.

Very nice, very well maintained and VERY Quiet! Large solid gravel sites for the RV surrounded by lush grass areas for sitting outside. Camping sites from tent to full on Class A and even a motel for non campers. River rafting available and some excellent playground equipment for the kids.Very cost effective. We will return.

So much fun! We tented in the C tenting area and the sites are super clean. They are a bit smooshed together, but it's a private campground and we still had good space all in all. Great activities, super awesome tubing down the river and the staff in the office were very welcoming and friendly. Particularly Rachel, she was our fave! Genuine, kind and caring. We were already talking and making plans to come back next year. Thanks for the fun weekend!

Great campground... Well maintained, level gravel sites, 30/50 amp sites, some full hook ups, lots to do.Three years later we have returned again! This time and a larger fifth wheel and we camped back further in the grassy area. It’s campground is so well taken care of and that is so appreciated. There is plenty of space between sites. There is always something going on whether it be tubing, bingo or a bags tournament and once again Saturday night music. We kayaked for the first time here, and had a great time. However while he was dropping off he explained it to be a roughly 4 hour run. I do understand water level has something to do with it but it was a six hour run! Not that I’m complaining, thoroughly enjoyed ourselves!👍🏻Everyone is always super helpful, friendly, and accommodating. You do a fabulous job running this campground!

This was our first time to Eagle Cliff and it was fantastic. We choose a pull-thru FHU and it was perfect. Everything was clean and prepared for us when we arrived. I have also never saw greener grass in my life! Everyone was very nice and sidenote, we needed to stay a bit past check out due to having a last minute meeting and they were more than happy to allow us to do that. This has made our yearly list and it should your's as well!

Recently had a 5-day stay in a tent site. Arrived a bit earlier than check in time (didn't realize until after we were all set up.. oops!)Very well kept property. No plumbing by our sites, but port-a-pots are on site. Easily the cleanest I've ever used.Great community and vibe throughout our stay, a group of visitors put together a massive kick-ball game, and all were welcomed to play! My kiddos had a BLAST! Friday night there was a DJ playing and again, we had a blast listening to music and dancing. All the staff were friendly and very approachable. They also monitor the grounds to keep things clean and make sure everyone is enjoying their stay. Lots of open space, and more than enough room between tent sites. One downer we did find is that you do need to pay for your showers. Personally, I didn't mind warming water on the fire to freshen up with (I mean common.. we're camping! 😆)We were able to go tubing once (rain later in our stay raises the waters to unsafe tubing levels) and it was a decent ride. Would have liked it to have lasted a bit longer myself, but with our younger 2 kiddos, it was probably for the best (roughly 1.5/2 hours - but again the water was moving a little faster than usual). We visited the town of Lanesboro and walked through some of the shops. Lots of fun things to see! Also ate at Home Sweet Home and had icecream at Another Time Ice Cream (both recommended stops!)Overall a great trip and will for sure be going back! Thank you, Eagle Cliff, for hosting our stay!

An absolutely AMAZING campground! The owners, Dan & Melanie are fantastic. They go above & beyond to see every guest has a wonderful stay with them. The staff are all friendly & always willing to help if needed, as are the owners. The campground sites are spacious with thick green grass. The grounds & facilities are clean & immaculate, with beautiful large playyards for kids. It's obvious the priority is to be family centered. We've been coming here for several years. It would be very difficult to find another campground to equal Eagle Cliff. I highly recommend experiencing this campground. So much to do! Tubing, canoeing, kayaking, biking, shopping, great restaurants, and more!

Beautiful area. We stopped for overnight only, a lot of seasonal sites, looks clean and kept up. Very large campground with only two buildings with showers and bathrooms. Throughout the property they have those construction site toilets. At check in the lady was really grumpy borderline rude. If you’re looking for a quiet place this is not it, kids are unsupervised. With that said we will love to go back and explore the area. No cell connection for Verizon or Sprint.

Deception is the best word for this campground. They claim they connect to the root river trail but they don't, we had to walk 15min down the shoulder of a very busy road with kids and cross a bridge with no shoulder to get to the trail. They don't allow camp mats because it "kills the grass" but our site (G32) had no grass in front of the camper so the kids dragged in dirt and mud all weekend. They also change rates without notifying you after you book so expect to pay more when you check-in. Service is rude. If you go on a weekend expect a ton of drunks who tube the river and are not considerate. Won't be back.

Greta camping experience! They have large spacious campsites perfect for renting. I liked how the grass was all beautifully soft and not scratchy. And there are no mosquitos! I liked hammocking by the river. My highlight here was doing the tube rental service from the camp owners. Really a great time for the whole family. Also, the most beautiful bike paths surround this camp ground leading through the gorgeous city of lanesboro.

My family and friends have been coming here for the past 8 years and can’t seem to get enough. Over that time they’ve updated the bathroom/shower house, added an event space (eagles nest) and frequently host musicians, and games throughout the summer. Our groups have ranged from 5-40 tubers and we’ve been treated with kindness, safety and professionalism every time. We appreciate the hard work Dan, Melanie and Lainey put into the culture of Eagle Cliff, and the crew for taking care of the beautiful grounds. See you again soon!
