The new owners Bark and Rec have been awesome! I love the instagram and the extra care and love they gave to my bulldog over the few weeks off and on we had to board her while visiting family. Our big gentle giant rescue pup Murphy stays here while we’re out of town and we will never take him anywhere else. Absolutely worth the drive from the cities for Murphy to get such personal attention with an amazing staff and pack of dogs. He gets baths, group play (in the dirt…his favorite), personal interaction with team members, and nap time… plus we get the most fun photo updates and peace of mind while we are on vacation. Thanks to the best team for always taking the best care of Murphy!

We are so happy with Barks and Rec at Vermillion kennels! Our pup loved his time there and looked so happy in all the pictures. The communication was great and whenever we texted for an update, a response was provided quickly. Kurt and Leigh are incredible and truly care about the dogs. When we picked up our dog, all of his items were neatly organized and he was so happy! We will be back again for sure.

This is a gem of a place! They cater to every need for our pups. Detail oriented, attentive, and always go above and beyond of any need that may arise. My one pup used to suffer from massive kennel anxiety with being crated and while she stays here, they have weaned her off anxiety meds and she’s happy as a clam! Amazing!

I don’t want to write this review and make it public because they are the best kept secret in Lakeville! Vermillion Kennels by Barks N’ Rec have been a godsend to our two pups Lily and Willow. They cater to their every need (be it needing alone time or dealing with anxiety in the kennel/crate). They allow Lily to play with her ball, while ignoring all the other pups in the playgrounds and Willow no longer needs trazadone while boarding overnight! They are always posting to social media so we know what the pups are up to. Their prices are reasonable, and they don’t nickel and dime you like other kennels in the area. They are our GO TO boarding facility! Thank you so much.

I trust Vermillion Kennels with my dog. Their facility is clean, the staff are professional and communicative, and their rates are reasonable. My dog is excited when we pull into the driveway. I live in downtown Minneapolis and—in my opinion—it’s worth the drive down. I highly recommend boarding your best friend here!

Vermillion Kennels is fantastic!!! My dog Franklin was very happy there for 8 days. They sent me pics/videos every day so I wasn’t missing him too much. They even gave him extra cuddles and let him sit at the front desk for a while. Franklin was exhausted at the end of his stay but I could tell he had a great time! 10/10 recommend and Franklin will be back next time Mom goes out of town!

I was very impressed from the beginning. We were shown the entire Kennel during our tour. Our dog has separation anxiety and has come home from other kennels full of dander and having lost weight. She seemed to thrive at Vermillion Kennels and I am grateful. The staff I have dealt with have been great. Highly recommended.

We have used Vermillion Kennels several times for our three dogs (two miniature dachshunds and one pitbull) whenever we have gone out of town. We have 100% confidence that our furbabies are being well taken care of! I will tell anyone looking for a wonderful place, staff, etc. They are amazing! I will not be taking my babies anywhere else.

This is the best boarding experience for my pup, Nova. I have a highly energetic pointer who loves this place so much. They pay attention to all the small details and are so easy to reach if I have questions or want updates. You can tell the owners care so much about dogs and care for the pups as if they were their own. Nova gets so excited when we show up for a weekend here. Thank you guys!

We have a large high energy dog who likes to play with other dogs. We’ve tried several of the “all day group play” type of daycares but Vermillion Kennel is the best! It’s a perfect blend of interaction with other dogs as well as down time so the dogs aren’t overwhelmed. It’s the only place our Labradoodle will be boarded from now on! Highly recommend!

My family has been to many kennels over the years, and never have we found better care than here. They are the most welcoming, friendly people. We are going through a hard time right now, and you can tell they genuinely care. They were willing to go above and beyond for our family. We will never go to another kennel. Great place!! We booked last minute (not advised lol) and it was stressful to find a place but Leigh took us in. I am so grateful for their service. Our babies were taken care of and loved on!! I got to follow their Instagram and see our fur babies while on our trip. It was so great!! I know the doggos are happy to see us but part of me thinks they enjoyed their sleepover with their new friends haha

We love Vermillion Kennels!! This facility is very clean and the people are so friendly. Our Dog loves staying here. When we pick her up she goes behind the desk to say goodbye to everyone first before she comes to see us. If you just go once they remember your dog's name and your dog will remember them too. I would highly recommend vermillion kennels. It's a safe, clean friendly environment for you pets.

We kenneled our labradoodle here over a weekend and received him covered in urine so bad we had to drive home with our windows down. Everything we sent with him smelled so bad of itinerary we threw it away. He also has a large cut on the top of his nose which they replied he may have gotten that at home. We’ve been kenneling dogs for twenty years and have never had an experience like this.

I was very nervous to kennel my Goldendoodle for 9 days while my family vacationed this Spring. We have gone to other kennels in the past for 3 or 4 days, the recovery time after a visit for my dog was always about a week. She would be so stressed out after a short stay. Then a friend suggested Vermillion Kennels. My sweet girl must have had the time of her life! After 9 days, she transitioned to home without a hitch. She was happy, not stressed. It was such a relief!! The staff at Vermillion was very nice. I love that they have the option of one on one play time during a boarding stay. I will never go anywhere else for dog boarding.

There is no place like home, but when you can't be at home Vermillion Kennels is as close as it gets. Andi and her staff genuinely care about the dogs, in their care. Professionally trained in animal health, as well as obedience and the general welfare of animals, they look after every dog as if it were a part of their family. We worried about our dog not eating while we were gone, but Andi and her staff not only made sure she ate but came up with creative ways to get her to eat.Vermillion Kennels is a top notch home away from home.

It's so hard to find a good kennel you can trust - LOOK NO FURTHER! I've been taking my two dogs to Vermillion Kennels for over 5 years. Andi and her staff are top notch. My dogs get so excited to go to each time and don't want to leave when I pick them up, so I know how well they are taken care of by the staff. Not only do they take great care of my dogs they are also so pleasant to me, my husband and two children. This kennel is defintely above average, I know without a doubt I will never go anywhere else. My entire extended family also uses this facility and they definitely go above and beyond! Andi & Staff thank you so much for caring so well for our "babies". I definitely recommend this kennel to anyone looking for an above average facility at a very reasonable price for their animals!!

I highly recommend Vermillion Kennels! I have three dogs, one being a rescue dog from a puppy mill. She has a lot of anxiety and cannot be confined. I was very worried about what to do with her when we were on vacation I looked up Vermillion Kennels and was given a tour of the facility. It is very clean and modern and has suites that worked out perfectly for my dogs. I cannot say enough about the fabulous staff and their genuine love for all of the pets that are in their care. Andi "the pack leader" is hard working and dedicated and I am so happy to have found this kennel and their services.

Vermillion Kennels has been the only kennel we have used in the last four years. They have always taken really good care of our shiba baby. Everyone at Vermillion has been professional, super friendly, and knowledgeable. Our dog has an occasional desire to bolt, and the very secure entrances and the owner's understanding of just how fast our puppy is when she is free puts me at ease when we have to be out of town and can't take Aki with us. I would highly recommend Vermillion Kennels to anyone needing to board their pet.

We have trusted the Krapu family and Vermillion Kennels to take care of our dogs for many years. The facilities at Vermillion are immaculate and Scout & Ripley never seemed stressed when we pick them up. The heated floors and hot water cleaning system provides for a much cleaner and comfortable environment than other kennels we have tried. We will continue to bring our dogs to Vermillion Kennels and would highly recommend this kennel to others
