I did the 3 days of board and train and then followed with 3 months of group class highly recommend! It has been about 10 months since have been to sit means sit group class...and I am still very consistent with my training.I just wanted to say Ryan and Pat are amazing! Very patient while teaching me how to train Copper...I tend to be very passive...and didn't follow through on my commands. :)I am happy to say that with their training I am so confident with Copper...even off leash. He focuses on me and follows my cues and commands. This training has given him and I so much more freedom!! I never envisioned doing anything off leash. I look forward to taking him new places and I am so proud of how well he behaves.

Ryan and Pat were absolute angels. My dog, Riot, was a rescue and came to me with some bad manners. We knew he needed dog training and were determined to get him the best dog trainers Minneapolis had to offer. After interviewing a few options, Sit Means Sit impressed us the most!Through private lessons & group training, Ryan helped us eliminate his counter surfing, incessant barking and jumping on guests. Riot even goes to his cot now the moment he hears a doorbell! He also helped Riot walk well on a leash and stop being reactive to triggers like runners and people on bikes. Riot is more comfortable in his crate and just seems like a happier dog all around since working with Ryan. I cannot thank Sit Means Sit enough!

This is just upon a initial consultation with our near 1yo AmStaff:They were kind, forthcoming with all information. They were direct without any indignation towards us or our pet. They also kept themselves extremely professional throughout the roughly 15min we were there going over options and brief assessments. They have payment options, from what it seems, and I could not see us going elsewhere to help give our pup the best to help him become a better best friend!

We've seen such a change in our rescue dog since we first came to Sit Means Sit in Spring Lake Park. He used to be skittish and scared of strange things (like wood floors and water bowls). We just took him on a big adventure out west for the second year in a row, and it's like we brought a totally different dog. We can enjoy him so much more! We still have things to work on, but that's another aspect of Sit Means Sit that's great-- we can keep coming to group classes.

I adopted my foster and she was pretty dog reactive. I found sit means sit and Pat and Ryan did an amazing job with Mella and I had my hesitations but I can say after 3 months of group class I can now walk Mella past other dogs barking and all she does is cry because she wants to play. No barking or lunging!

I have a very lovable overreactive boxer. Thanks to the training with Ryan and Pat he is 80% better.. They are very patient and willing to use unorthodox ways of training.

Sit Means Sit has made me feel empowered in training my dog. My husky has grown more than I ever could have imagined in just a few weeks, and after our first group class this week, I’m getting a chance to see what’s ahead with his work. The trainers there are helpful, knowledgeable, and really help you understand your dog’s behavior and needs. I feel so much safer with my dog, both with my others dogs, and out in the park and on walks. Thank you so much!!

We recently rescued an adult lab mix. She would not come when called, did a sit when she felt like it, etc. In the space of 3 to 4 weeks she now has a reliable recall, sits on command, and is much better on her leash. If someone had told me she would be so much better behaved in such a short period of time, I would have told them they were crazy. There were times when we thought that this just wasn't going to work, but suddenly the light came on and she started listening to the commands. Ryan did an amazing job and kept on us to keep putting in the time working with our dog, and it really paid off. I would highly recommend Sit Means Sit if you want a well behaved dog.

Our Pembroke Corgi is 10 months old and the training he is receiving from Ryan and his staff at Sit Means Sit, Spring Lake Park, is amazing. Rhett is learning so quickly as our we on how to properly train him in obedience tasks in a fun dog centered way. Ryan and staff are so helpful with answering any of our questions, concerns, training help or work a rounds so that Rhett gets the best out of the skills he is learning right now as a puppy that will take him and us into his adult dog hood. Whether you have a young pup like us, a mature dog, aggressive or not Ryan and his fantastic staff will teach you the PROPER way to train your dog so that they are the best they can be and you will have piece of mind when you are at home or out in public with your canine companion. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone who wants training for their dog to go and visit Sit Means Sit and have a sit down (no pun intended) with Ryan and staff to see how they can help you.

We got excellent results with our training at Sit Means Sit. This was our first time getting training for a dog and what a difference!! Our dog actually listens and obeys commands. Ryan was great to work with! We will continue with group lessons because each session teaches us more fun things to do together.

I just recently adopted a 4 year old German Shepherd from the Humane Society. He was very shaky when we got him from the shelter and unable to be around other dogs or cars. He was also terrified of cars! My wife and I decided that we should take get him professionally trained and looked into a few places in the twin cities. Sit Means Sit was close by and so we decided to check it out. The pricing for lessons was very competitive and with the package we got he gets unlimited group classes for the rest of his life! He has only been through 3 private lessons and is doing absolutely amazing. He is great around other dogs, cars don't even phase him anymore, and he is so obedient. I can't wait to see how much better he gets the more we practice with him. Thank you so much Sit Means Sit!

We have a 4 month old American Bulldog. We have done the puppy classes. You learn great skills in there plus awesome socialization time for the puppies. We are now doing the 1:1 training. Ryan is great. He knows his stuff and is very patient. We have seen an improvement in our puppy. Can not wait to learn more. Would highly recommend.

Ryan and Pat at Sit Means Sit are incredible trainers. Not only have they helped train my Siberian Husky to be more obedient but as a first time puppy owner, they've also trained ME so that as my husky grows I have the tools to continue teaching good habits. It's incredible that over the course of 3 sessions, my husky can 'sit' 'come' 'off' 'down' and walking with her is a pleasure. I recommend Sit Means Sit 100%!!

We are just starting our fourth week of training with our dog, Roscoe, and the progress he has made with help from Sit Means Sit is incredible! While he wasn't an awful dog to begin with, he did need some help learning that he is not in charge around the house. We have learned so much as well about our dog and that we can't back down and have to follow through with commands. It's as much about training us as it is training our dog! Thank you so much, Sit Means Sit!!

I rescued a 3 year old pitbull mix a month ago and started Sit Means Sit training right away and am so happy that I did! Ryan and Pat are both wonderful at demonstrating and explaining everything, when I have questions while training at home or run into any issues they are prompt in responding to text messages with helpful advice! It has also been a lot of fun for me and my dog to bond together!

My 5 y.o. Australian Shepherd was becoming more aggressive toward other dogs and strangers. I found Sit Means Sit and I can’t say enough good things! The staff is GREAT (very patient, knowledgeable and personable)! They give 110% and are always willing to help (by phone, email, during group classes or training sessions). Sit Means Sit helps you train your dog and you, so both of you are working as a team. Remy is now polite around strangers, able to pass dogs on walks and working on more advance obedience. If your dog is aggressive, shy, jumps-up, barks, etc. check out Sit Means Sit today! I have seen so many dogs improve thought Sit Means Sit in such a short time. Thank you Sit Means Sit from the bottom of my heart, see you next group class!

We have a eight + month old bull terrier puppy with the attention span of a gnat and the determination of an avalanche. We received personalized service and hands on teaching for myself and the dog as well as the peace of mind knowing we could call anytime we needed more help. My husband is recovering from an unexpected double bypass surgery so it was critical to accelerate our puppy's training as he was growing to be very big and strong. My husband was pretty fragile from the surgery and would be recovering for some time. The training helped immensely! The puppy is still all enthusiasm and energy but he will listen and is learning that "sit means sit". He was also evolving into nuance barking which has now stopped, much to the neighbors delight. It takes practice and time but it is making life much easier to get through living with a single minded, tenacious, adolescent and very strong bully puppy. This training works. Great instructors who take the time to explain, demonstrate and follow up. I am so grateful for all the help and attention we received.

Ryan and Sit Means Sit has been an awesome experience for us and our dog, Roxy. We have only done two classes so far and she is already much easier to control and much more enjoyable to be around. Ryan is amazing with his ability to teach us and Roxy what to do and kindly correct us when we need to do something different. We would absolutely recommend Ryan to anyone!

I took my dog reactive pitbull named Mama here for training. Decided on the 2 week board and train. I was so nervous about this but now I’m soooo glad we did it! Prior to the 2 week board and train it was a 5 alarm fire if we tried to walk past another dog. Lunging, barking, and lots of chaos. I am so impressed at the progress she made in just 2 weeks! The trainers are very patient and knowledgeable. My dog Mama stayed with Tessie (trainer) for the 2 week period and kept me updated with photos and texts. We are now taking group classes here and this is a nice way to practice. The group classes have helped me gain confidence and learn to stay calm. We are soooo happy with Mama’s progress and I can’t say enough good things about this place!

Waste of time ,Was invited to bring my gsd in for an evaluation and training options,No one evaluated my dog she just tried to sell me expensive training packages. My dog had been through obedience already and I wanted to continue in a group setting, but you have to buy the 1500- 2000 grand packages . I felt like I was at a used car lot .

My dog is much better behaved after 3 lessons, he still needs much work on my part, but now I feel like I have options for improving his behavior. The staff at Sit Means Sit Dog Training in Minneapolis are very good at what they do, they also are very caring.

These classes have been the best for our puppy, they helped us with managing a very active dog. At 5 months he has already settled down and responds well to us with the training we have received. Thanks to all the trainers that have been patient with our training needs.

Raji is a different dog! We did board and train this summer and the difference is striking! Raji listens much better and I don't get anxiety when I take him places anymore! I am just in awe of the changes! Looking forward to starting group classes... we just adopted a puppy and there's no way we could have done that before Raji's training! I just couldn't trust him and now he's holding it together and doing really well! Thank you all at Sit Means Sit for your patience and amazing service! I will recommend you to everyone in need of an amazing trainer!

We are learning a lot. It is just as much people training as dog training. They are very nice people very knowledgeable and my dog is coming around. I believe he has a ways to go but with the lifetime group classes we will have ample support to help him so that we may all live happier!

Paisley, our 2 year old boxer lab, is working on not being so distracted by other dogs and such. She has been doing fantastic and I am learning a lot too. I highly recommend this place if you would like some personalized 1 on 1 training.

I have chow chow puppies who are very stubborn and Ryan has worked one on one with both of them. We just started bringing them and noticed a huge difference in their behavior after three weeks of going. Our dogs are on the road to being very obedient and much easier to handle. Excited to see what each week has to offer.
