I go to this Ace hardware quite a bit for tools, supplies and other things when we're in town staying on our sailboat. The staff at Wise Ace Hardware are always helpful and always friendly. They always seem to have what I'm looking for.

I grew up going to Wise Hardware with my parents. I'm a loyal Ace Hardware customer with Pellicci Hardware in Zumbtota as my home store. Last week I went to Lake City Ace. I was disappointed. The 2 employees were unfriendly with dull personalities, seemed unethusiastic to make this Ace the Place. I bought an item , $400+, later felt I overpaid, looked up the store's website, saw the ad for the same item, end of season price & $100 cheaper. Since that store closed at 6pm, I waited until the following day to ask if I could get a refund, explaining why. Employee Bob checked, but advised me I should return it. The box must be in pristine condition & a restocking fee would be deducted. I went to Rochester's Walmart, paid $196 for a completely similar item. I returned the original to Lake City Ace. This store no longer has a small town atmosphere. I won't be back.I'd like to repeat I told Bob that this store's website pictured the window air conditioner $100 off. He told me that Ace has global ads but each store is independently owned & have their own ads. So, to be sure, return it. That was inconvenient & difficult because I'm not young or strong. The 2 employees on 8/31 @ 4:45pm were not customer friendly or respectful Ace ambassadors. I'm an advocate for consumers. Few take time to complain, most tell friends, family coworkers & don't return. Negative feedback should be appreciated & result in better service.

Locally owned and locally run. Staff is very helpful and they know the store and products well. The building itself has lots of history and is full of character inside.

Ace Hardware is truly part of Lake City's Heritage. You walk in, the tin ceilings are still the same, same wavy wooden floors and the pleasant aroma you remembered as a child! The employees are the BEST PART, helpful BEYOND words- one gentleman assisted me in troubleshooting our moped when no small engine repair in town would work on it (yep- it was the petcock) and they always keep up with any zany project I'm up to and ask me how it's going around town! And the lovely ladies are not only knowledgeable- but they always have a snack ready for my big dog. Perfect!

I will Not be coming back here after one of the employees who is tall, skinny, blonde hair & female was very rude not allow me to go down a isle when a different employee let me a couple weeks ago then felt it was her right to bring her boyfriend into the conversation which had nothing to do with what I said and told me “no one” was allowed to go in the isle because of the current event going on & she would grab what I needed to stop the spread. Told me if I couldn’t comply I could leave & not come back. Very rude, not customer friendly at all and disrespectful.

Turned away a 6 year old that had to use the restroom because they don't have a public restroom. Then directed us to a place that is closed. If I could rate the friendliness of the staff as a 0 I would.

These guys saved our weekend! My husband got there as they were locking up the store to close for the evening He explained that we had just experienced a water line failure in our boat and they opened the doors to let my husband in to find the exact thing we needed. Thank you!!

My dad bought a pair of boots from here. Upon getting home he found out that they were not the right size and just were a little to snug for working. He went to return them and they said they do not do returns or exchanges. They were not friendly about the transaction at all. Very rude.
