This tree farm typically has a wonderful selection of trees, but this year their inventory is very slim. We went to cut down a tree this year with our kids and only a very small selection of trees were tagged or ones that were very sparse with tons of bare spots. They had some very beautiful ones, but did not have these ones tagged to be cut. This is the first year we left Pinestead without a tree, and we weren’t the only ones.

We've been going here for a couple of years now. Great place with a large selection of trees to pick from in all varieties. It's fun to pick one out, cut it down, load it on a sled and haul it out. They will shake, bundle and load the tree for you. As a bonus they have mini donuts, hot chocolate, a nice little shop and more. Also when it's not a pandemic, Santa and Mrs. Claus are there too.

We went on the Friday after Thanksgiving to cut our tree. The parking lots were full but we encountered only a couple people in the lot where we were looking. There were 3 stations wrapping trees and it went very quickly despite the long lines. There were also plenty of windows to check out so that also went quickly. The kids waited in a very short line for snacks and we're very impressed with the freshness and quality of the food items they purchased. We paid roughly $60 for a 9+ foot fat, blue spruce.

We love this tree farm! Second year at this place and we had such a hard time choosing the best tree! So many awesome options! Such a great family friendly place! On Black Friday they have Hay Rides, animals to see, Santa(!!!!), and a food trailer! A wonderful day! See picture below at how gorgeous the tree is! Also extremely fair priced for a real tree! We will always choose Pinestead Tree Farm!

Love this place! We love the mini donuts and hot apple cider by the fire, animals, cut outs for photos, small shop with ornaments and misc. gifts, and of course the trees. Santa and Mrs. Claus are amazing every year and we look forward to seeing them! Free parking, helpful staff, porta potties, can buy tree bags, and coupon via email. This year was pretty slim pickins on the blue spruce - what our entire group (5 trees) selects each year - we've been coming here for probably more than 20 years! Looking forward to returning if more blue spruce are available!

This was our first time here and it was absolutely wonderful! Beautifully grown trees, very kind staff, and an extremely smooth running operation. We also loved that it was pet friendly! We are very excited to walk away with a gorgeous spruce Christmas tree as well as wreaths and garlands. Well be back next year!

Great selection of trees and reasonably priced. Very cute farm, the gift shop has a lot of really cute Christmas decorations and ornaments. A lot of great places to get family photos.. and our daughter loved the alpacas! The owner was very friendly, and their customer service was top notch! This was our first year going there, and we will definitely be back next year.

My husband and I went here last year for our first-ever real Christmas tree and had a great experience. The place is huge, so you can spend hours looking for the "perfect" tree. They have quite a variety and we thought the prices were fair. We also appreciated the great service of shaking, bundling and tying the tree to our car for us - we didn't expect all that!We're looking forward to continuing the tradition this year!

Such a great farm, we felt lucky to find it. Had our pick of dozens of beautiful Frasier Firs over 8’ and found our unanimous choice for Christmas Tree 2018. Great prices. Less expensive than trees of similar heights at Home Depot and the quality was outstanding. The Holiday Shop was a pleasant surprise. We found several great, unique gifts as well.

Love, Love, Love this place. They have great staff and a nice selection of trees. It's also great that the kids can visit Santa on certain dates/times. There is a small food truck that has hot chocolate, apple cider, mini doughnuts, and water/pop. There are also several picnic tables and seats fireside to warm up on cold days.

Lovely experience on a beautiful day! Helpful, friendly and attentive staff. Gorgeous tree's, Creative decor and crafts. Delicious Delights to enjoy while warming by the fire. We had a pleasant time and will definitely be back next year.

Picking out and cutting our own tree has been a family tradition for over 20 years. Our grown daughter still insists on helping us pick out our tree and now brings the grandkids along. We love family traditions and Pinestead is the BEST with great trees, fun bonfire and hayrides. Looking forward to it again this year!! We also enjoy visiting with the family and Santa every year!! THEY ARE GREAT!! Years ago our daughter struck up a friendship with the owner when she called to ask what he was going to do with his poster from the Polar Express he had on his wall there. He not only graciously gave her the poster he remembered her the next year with a small gift he had picked up during the year. That's going above and beyond!!

We love this place but due to the weather did not want to drive all the way to Isanti. We tried two other tree farms with very poor stock before finally making the 45 minute trek over to Pinestead. Never will we stray again! We found exactly what we wanted in under 5 minutes.They have beautiful trees & great prices. The service is outstanding & free/shaking/bailing and securing to your vehicle. There is also a cute gift shop & Santa is there until 2:00 on Thanksgiving weekend. My only regret was I forgot to bring cash to tip the high school boys who tied the tree to the top of our car.

Amazing tree farm! Ample parking, maps for where to find trees, saws and sleds provided, reasonable prices and kid friendly. Best part is they shake, bundle and tie the trees on your car for you! They have a nice store with gifts and a miniature train. I will only get my Christmas trees from here!

One of the best tree farms in the state! The overall experience and the process of finding a tree is perfect! If you go, plan to go before Thanksgiving or the day after to find that perfect tree. The shake, bale and tie-downs are included with your tree purchase! Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt...

Lovely farm with friendly staff (and dog) and a great selection of trees. Will definitely go back every year! All trees available to self cut are marked/priced in the field and the prices are SO reasonable. At other tree farms you may search an hour in the cold to find a nice tree, we found several great ones within minutes. Highly recommend!

Cutting down our Christmas tree is a family tradition and we have been coming to Pinestead Tree Farm for a few years now. We are never disappointed with our balsam fir and find that the tree stays fresh for weeks. This year I signed up for their emails and received a coupon. It takes us about 40 minutes from Minneapolis to get there but it is well worth the trip. We always stop in the gift shop for a complimentary cup of hot cider and take some pictures with Santa. Thanks Pinestead for a great tree and a wonderful family experience!

For years now my family and I have gone to Pinestead Tree Farm to get our Christmas tree. I love the atmosphere, the quality of the people and the quality of the service you receive. I no longer live at home with my parents; however, I make sure every year we go as a family to pick out a real tree for my parent's house since I can't have one where I live. This tradition is one that I treasure and every year only gets better as my family grows. Phil and Helen are earth angels and I thoroughly enjoy visiting with them each year. To say I love their family and this tree farm is a modest review. If getting a tree is a holiday tradition you want to deepen with a loving wonderful group of people than visit Phil and Helen. They welcome everyone with open arms.

We had a wonderful experience here. The people were very friendly and knowledgeable. They had a great selection of trees and very reasonability prices. Delicious cider and cookies too! In our tree purchase they also included a coupon for a free potted sappling if we come back arbor day weekend. We will most definitely be back.

Our family has shipped here in previous years with luck. This year the trees that were tagged for sale were lopsided, spade sectioned or older trees with large openings and dead sections. These trees were ticketed for $50 to 150, while the very nice trees we were interested in cutting we not tagged for sale at all. We went elsewhere in the area and will not be back to pinestead tree farm.

Don't go here if you like white pine or scotch pine. They had about 10 white pine tagged and about 10 scotch pine tagged and all were bare, crooked, or very patchy.Also if you really want to cut your own this is not the place. You don't get to choose your own tree. You choose the trees they allow you to have.

Always a great selection of trees. The gift shop is closed due to covid this year but they still have ornaments amd other great gifts for sale in the window that are numbered for purchase. Hot apple cider and mini doughnut truck there too!

We cut our tree the weekend before Thanksgiving and we had wonderful choices. It's Jan 1st and as I take the tree down there are very few needles dropping. It's still beautiful. We will be back in 2017 !
