I lost my service dog Oct 16th to Seizure's. I couldn't take him in he was in a comatose state and to heavy to transport. So the wonderful vet and assistant came to my camper in the woods and were so incredibly kind. Took there time, let me have my time with him, talked to him like he was their own companion! That meant alot to me! Milo was everything to me! Not only my protecter but my best friend!! Thank you for your compassion and understanding!❤️💞

I got in earlier than expected. Each and every staff person were very nice and accommodating. The new veterinarian I saw with Mitzi was very nice and very capable. All my questions were answered. One staff even member even helped me carry my big pet carrier crate to my car.

Staff were very friendly and got us in on short notice. The vet was very attentive and seemed to really care about what was going on with our pooch.

I'd give a 0 if possible. The "vet" McGonigal had our cat for a routine teeth cleaning and through immense malpractice on the vets part we ended up losing our family cat within a few days after the surgery. The vet in uncaring and has no sympathy for the animals she treats. This vet would rather cut an animal open than run the proper tests.

I wish I could have hugged Dr. Nicholson and her staff.We are not established clients, but we are family who was vacationing up by Pelican Lake here in Minnesota (6 hours from home)Our girl, Jade, had a medical emergency and I called 8 different vets in the surround area. Rainy River answered our call and said "Be here at 10:30, we've got you." We were an hour away but I'll be dammed if we didn't make it by 10:38.Our sweet girl has given Dr. Nicholson quite the puzzle diagnosis as we are still not sure exactly what was causing her issues. But we did discover an intense infection in her gut.For squeezing in a newcomer and treating us with care and attention, we are completely satisfied with the care we received. We know they were busy and short staffed, so the hours we spent waiting was no problem because they made sure our girl was still taken care of.We are not out of the woods yet, but I'm very thankful we were able to be seen and know our girl was cared for correctly.I can't speak much on pricing considering the amount of work and emergency care she received, but the clinic does support carecredit and the staff was very knowledgeable on how to help us proceed with carecredit payment. The clinic was also clean and most everyone we met was nice.Thank you, Dr. Nicholson. I truly believe you saved my heart-dog's life.

They are somewhat pricey, but when they are the only local vet, sometimes you do what you need to. Recently we had to euthanize our dog when she got Mammary Gland Cancer, and the Vet and staff were incredibly thoughtful, caring and super sensitive to my daughter and I. Holly was my daughters best friend and companion, and deciding to euthanize her was what was best for her. The staff did everything they could to help my daughter make the decision. They took care of the cremation and when we got her back she was in a super cute urn, and they made an impression of her paw print with her name on it for my daughter as well. Overall they were very amazing to us during a very difficult situation. Kudos to all the staff at Rainy River Vet. You guys were awesome in the last care to my daughters baby Holly.

What a joke! This vets office charged me $127 to look at my dog and take a urine sample. Cook veterinarian office is the way to go!

The staff as well as the doctor were very kind as well as professional. They were reasonably priced. They took their time and showed compassion. They really do care about their patients as if they were human. Pets are like family to many people and that shows at this hospital.

I had to schedule an emergency appointment over a holiday weekend. They were able to see us within the hour, and all the staff were very friendly and helpful. I was a little worried about the costs of an emergency visit, but their prices were very reasonable. I've been to a clinic in bemidji and 3 in Duluth (including the emergency hospital), and Rainy River seemed comparable --if not better-- in terms of affordability.

Incredible vet. Explained everything to me in lamens terms with my dogs condition and did everything to rectify what she was going through. They were incredibly compassionate. Rainy River has earned my business for life. Chase is in top condition now thanks to the amazing staff here. Thank you.

They are very friendly everytime I go. I only give three stars though because the prices... nail trims for example are $18. That I can handle, but when he needs prevention's or checkups, it costs a lot more than I could spend at bemidji or cook. I'd rather drive there to save money for some of the bigger things. Like he needs surgery next month, and I feel more comfortable financially else where. I've heard both bad and good about this vet!My rate is 3 stars after coming here almost four years.

Nothing but a great experience here at RLVH! They are quick to make appointments and are pretty friendly. After coming from a big city, I'd say my dog absolutely gets better care here than anywhere we'd been to before. As for cost- I think prices are reasonable for nails and more extensive treatments too.

I've been using Rainy River Veterinarian Hospital for over 10 years for my dogs. They are a phone call away on the weekends,when my pups run into some trouble. I've used this more than oncd on a Saturday or Sunday. They are empathetic when I'm concerned about my dogs, and treat them with respect like they are family. Recently, my oldest dog has turned 13, and in the past couple years she's had some big health scares. Most recently the past two weeks. The whole staff is very supportive when i call about questions, and are very patient with me and my emotions. They have gotten Maggie in on such short notice these past few weeks, that i appreciate it from the bottom of my heart. They are dedicated to find an answer to Maggie's health issues. I have no doubt we will get there and they will be with me every step of the way. Dr. Nicholason and Dr. Hasbargen are the best Veterinarian's I've had. 💜💜

We took our cat here a few times. These people are very disorganized. They didn't have records of giving him a rabies shot or any of the vaccinations they told us they had given him 6 months before. The male vet tech was nice amd seemed much more knowledgeable than the other vets, but he was popping our cat's cyst with his fingers. We just moved and our new vet said that this put our cat in danger of infection. Other than the disorganized nature of this facility they always treated us well and addressed our concerns.

I had a scary experience with my cat getting into something and the on call doctor put my worries at ease and helped me care for my cat at home. Even explained I would pay a lot to bring her in just for them to not be able to do any different then I can. She was very professional and was explaining in detail everything I needed to know. Very grateful for them.

Was not happy with my little dog going in the back for exams, instead of just in the room with her,she was all foam in the mouth, she was very upset, be better when I am their too,so never in 9 year they had to exams her in separate room

They really care about your pets and will go out of their way to help you as well as your pets. When I got the phone call about my dog having 2 good sized tumors the vet was crying with me. I think that's a sign of a genuine person.

We moved up to Warroad and Rainy Vet was the only clinic serving the immediate area. Our lab suffers from seizures and is on phenobarbital which keeps them under control. As our medication for him was in its last week before refill, we called our prior vet to send the prescription up to Rainy River to be filled. I waited 5 days to hear from them, but never did. I then called to see if the prescription was ready and it was only at this time they told me they were refusing to fill the prescription without seeing my dog first. Now we had only one day of meds left. Luckily they had an opening the next day, so I drove from Warroad to IFalls for a vet visit and to fill his prescription. They charged me for an “emergency” visit even after admitting that they had not called me back after receiving my previous vets prescription request almost a week prior. They apologized for “dropping the ball” but still charged me an emergency vet fee for an emergency they manufactured by “dropping the ball”. In addition, the meds which I normally paid $38/month for were now $97/month through Rainy. I called Thrifty White in Warroad and they said they could fill the prescription for $46/month, so clearly Rainy is charging a gross amount over wholesale. They have no customer service, no tact and always seem to have an attitude. I will never again allow my dogs be cared for by this overcharging and careless clinic.

Dr. Nicholson was the vet that I went to a couple years ago when my dog had to have surgery, she had a bad infection. She was SO good with her, she was gentle, caring, and took VERY good care of our baby girl!!

My, world came crashing down on December 3 of 2019. My buddy xellos who I raised since a kitten finally was being taken by a condition we dont really know. The people at rainy river told me to bring him in right away and I made the 60 mile journey with my best buddy clinging to what life he had left. The people were compassionate and let me know that it was unlikely he may recover with the efforts available. It broke every bit of my heart but I elected to have him put down and the support and caring from the staff was immense. I'll always carry a hole in my heart for the loss of my dear xellos but the people at rainy river vet took care of me and while it saddens me I look forward to bringing xellos back home where he belongs with his collar and bowl by the fire place. He may be gone but will be forever in my heart. Thank you rainy river vet.

my shi tzu had her neutered here and hwen we got her back she had a lot of wounds from razor and she suffered more on this razor burn and wound than the stitch itself... i am so mad.😡😡😡😡😡
