I really wanted to like this place but it had some problems. I stayed there for 4 nights in Room #2.1. There was a humming noise which gave me problems sleeping the whole time I was there. I assume it was from the washing/drying room behind me but it could also be something else.2. The curtains need to be heavier because the light outside the room is on all night and the room is flooded with light.3. When I first entered the room it had a really overpowering smell of bleach or some other cleaning products. I had to open up the doors and windows and let it air out for a long while.4. The hot water is scalding hot. It is dangerous, and also a waste of money.5. The hot water valve on the bathtub doesn't close fully and drips all the time. Another waste of money.6. The water doesn't drain well in either the sink or the tub.7. I guess the hotel allows dogs. Hearing some other dog barking from the hallway is annoying.8. You could hear the footsteps from the person above you or going down the stairs pretty easily. It is an old wooden place so there isn't much to be done about it.

We stayed in this motel June 2023. Although rooms were clean and quite big, I felt like the guy behind the desk wasnt too nice. When I booked my room I put in the note of 2 large dogs staying with us. The guy checking me in was surprised and although there was no extra charges for the dogs he said “there should be one and I will be changing this soon because people do not clean after their dogs and it bothers people parking their boats”.So here, I get it. I sincerely liked the fact there was no fee but didn’t appreciate that attitude. It’s certainly unheard of to have dogs stay for free and I would like to see more placed doing that. I feel like it’d drive more people to stay there. People unfortunately do not clean up sometimes but its no different than littering. Theres not too much of grassed areas for dogs to relive.Other than that, we enjoyed our stay. Place was quiet and about 20 min drive from Voyageur National Park.Nearby activities: Voyageurs National Park

The process of booking and trying to change the reservation is incredibly difficult. We wasted time as we were rerouted to a call center and the call center was not authorized to help us. We asked to speak to a manager and we were told no. We had calls from another manager(?) who was driving as he called. OYO is very hard to communicate with. Unprofessional. I would not stay at this hotel only for this reason. It was very frustrating to waste time on multiple calls only to have them send an email with the wrong information on it.Walkability: Business site was near

First night: Attendant was fantastic, helpful, and friendly. The room was clean, building is old and I worried about the safety of the wooden stairs and the floor boards of the second floor balcony. The second night we were given another room. Same concerns as the first night except absolutely NO hot water in the shower. The valve controls for the shower must have been broken, it spun 360 degrees with no change in temperature other than cold. I won’t go back again. Five star service from Jim the attendant.

Pay upfront. No refunds. New owners since Covid. Manager was a little lost when checking us in. Car trouble with two of our party and they never made it in. Manager said should get a refund for the second room but never did and never heard from home office in Florida. No breakfast what food there is is vended. Used to be a nice restaurant right next door not open when we came. Maybe now. Rooms dated but served our purpose.Never stayed in a hotel where had to pay up front and told all was non refundable even the taxes state and local. Had stay here for five years prior but never again.If you should decide to stay just be aware, pay upfront and NO refunds. Stayed May 26, 2022.

It is a low ball motel. Clean very dated and at 1/3 the price of other motels in the area. It had a fridge microwave bathtub/shower, nice sized flat screen TV. The rooms are small but adequate. There was a small hole near the refrigerator down into to hallway below. Just odd it wasn't filled. The staff was very pleasant. It's next to DQ (yum) and in a clean neighborhood. The Sunset was fabulous. If you need new and fancy this isn't it. If a cheap safe place to lay your head is your goal this is great. I would stay here again. We are doing a budget travel book and blog. Frankly in our extensive travels 49 states and 90k miles in 4 years I wish there were more places like this.

Staff were on point, the mini breakfast was perfect, and for the price vs. other locations in the Falls, you couldn't ask for a better deal. Oh, and Max, the office pupper, was an absolute cutie pie!Walkability: It was really within a very reasonable distance to downtown International Falls, so it is in a great spot.

Wonderful stay in a clean, quiet, comfortable motel. I would stay there again on my way through International Falls. Loved meeting the famous Max. He was so cute and welcoming. I took advantage of giving him some puppy love with scritches. He is just crazy wiggly.I am not going to say which room I was in but to the guest who was there before...(You know who you are!) I got the message you left, very sweet of you, but I left it for someone else to find. Fun little unexpected geocaching.

This was an ok hotel. But I would not recommend it to others, and I would not recommend room 3 because our back door facing the parking was locked shut and couldn't open. The bathroom fan didn't have a cover on it and the bathroom door was broken and did not close all the way thier was a crack in the bathroom wall ceiling The paneling was pulling apart behind the chair, plus the advertisement says, thiers a closet, but there isn't one

I had a great and relaxing stay. Jim and his little dog Max were super friendly and helpful in getting me checked in and taking care of everything I needed while I was there. The building is a little older, of course, but the price is right, it's clean, it's close to everything in International Falls, and you're really made to feel at home. I'd recommend checking out Voyageur's National Park while you're in the area (don't miss one of the excellent ranger-led boat tours). Stop by the Cantilever Distillery in Ranier on your way back for a fabulous cocktail. Don't bother going into Canada. Thanks Jim and Max for a good stay!

My husband, 1 year old and I were headed to Canada to visit family we had not seen since COVID... we stayed here when we drove up last time in 2019 and had a wonderful and nostalgic experience, so we were excited to stay here again.I realized a few hours away that when I originally booked on Oyo's site that I had accidentally booked for the next night, not the correct one. I called to ask if i could reschedule, and they told me I was just a few hours past the cut off for rescheduling/ cancellation, and I had already paid in full for the room. I begrudgingly booked another room for that night... and I realized while I was booking it, that the Oyo calendar was Monday - Sunday, which is how I booked the wrong night originally.We got to the motel, and there were 2 different police welfare checks going on for other visitors, and the room that I booked while on the road hadn't been cleaned.The front desk guy was nice enough, but obviously had his hands full and doing it alone.He got us a bigger room for no charge which was helpful given the circumstances already. The rooms are out dated but generally comfortable.*Edit* management called me shortly after posting this review, he was apologetic and super helpful.

Stayed at this hotel in May of 2022. Was required to provide a credit card number in advance to “hold” the room and again at the time we arrived. As a result I was billed twice for our stay. Three months later I am still trying to get this issued resolved with OYO. Their records indicate I payed cash? Even after I provided them with their email receipts - showing I was billed twice for the same night - they have not resolved the issue. Absolutely terrible customer service.

VOYAGEUR HotelThe motel is beside the road with a BIG name on the build, calling it "VOYAGEUR Hotel." From inside, the Hotel looks old-fashioned. I booked one night at Voyageur Hotel. The room has a Queen size bed, TV, small refrigerator, table with two chairs, and most importantly, a coffee machine. I feel my night's stay at Voyageur Hotel is worth the money I paid. Kudos to JIM; he is the night watch at this Hotel and very helpful.

Jim and Max were very welcoming and accommodating. Two amenities that I always look for are great shower heads and mattress, the Voyager had both!!!I will definitely book again.

The room was clean and nice. The full xl beds in the double room weren't the best nights sleep but after a long day hiking and canoeing they were better than I thought. The owners were very nice though and it was great having a tiny fridge for things.
