We love Oneka! When we rescued our dog Simba, we were worried that he needed to go to daycare more often...after the first week of going multiple days, the staff at Oneka told us that due to our dog's personality, it was ok for him to stay at home since he was so low energy (something I considered, but wasn't sure about). I appreciated that they were upfront about my dog's social energy and that I wasn't just spending a ton of money for my dog to just sleep all day.But when my dog is there, I can tell he is very loved. The front desk all greet my dog by name and when I pick him up, they show off pictures they've taken of him throughout the day as well as any funny moments. He goes once a week and the staff clearly know and respect his limits. They let him play when he wants to play (for however briefly) but they let him just hang out with the humans when he's over socializing with the other dogs.We've boarded him multiple times for various time lengths and I know from how he's treated just going to daycare, that the same attention is given to him for boarding. In a pinch (for last minute trips when Oneka was full) we've used other borders but keep coming back to Oneka. The staff has been consistent for the five or so years we've been bringing him there and it's gives such peace of mind that we know our boy is being cared for well while we are gone.We've done boarding, day care, grooming and obedience training here. Prices are fair, staff is friendly and very flexible with your pet's needs - highly recommend!

Hands down one of the best doggie daycare places in MN. They do an amazing job managing all the dogs and they really know each individual pet. My dogs have gained great social skills from Justin and the staff. They also have great training classes as well!

Always our go to boarding place when we need to board our huskies. More important than having great owners, is that they consistently have an amazing team. We’ve always known that our dogs have a blast when they stay here…but after losing one of our dogs recently, we were just blown away by the team. We’re in tears reading a card sent from the staff about how much they loved our Beau, and their stories about him are just spot on.There are plenty of places to board your dogs…but it’s highly unlikely you’ll find somewhere that has such great people who genuinely care about your pets as much as you do.

I've got a high maintenance German Shepherd who has been kicked out of 2 doggy daycares for 'rambunctious' behavior around other dogs. A close friend, also with high maintenance dogs, recommended Oneka to us and we happy she did. Our GSD has never once not wanted to go, even after getting a much needed bath. We are very happy with the service.

We've tried various other places to board our dogs while we're on vacation, but Oneka is the best. It's not as pretty as some others, but that's just for owners - the pets don't care! The important thing is that the folks here really know dogs. When our dogs are with other dogs, they're really watching and understanding what's going on, and they can intervene or make changes as necessary to make sure all the dogs do well.We've also done the foundations training class, and we found it well worthwhile. Their trainer is a sort of dog whisperer. That's not fair though - it's not magic, he just has a really good understanding of how to train all kinds of dogs.

We have used Oneka several times and have been very pleased. The reservation process is easy and they reply quickly to emails. Duke plays hard and loves hours of play time with his friends. I love knowing he is being loved and cared for while we are gone!

We have brought our dog to Oneka for training and boarding and are so pleased with the staff and the facilities.Buster is a very energetic dog, and also very nervous. It was hard to take him on walks or teach him basic commands. We are extremely happy we brought him to Oneka for foundation training with Justin. I thought the training was for Buster, but quickly learned that his behaviors were often due to my reactions and I learned a lot also.Over the past couple years I worked remotely and Buster was only familiar with our family and a couple close friends. Buster became very protective and bit a friend when they started to enter the house. Due to his aggressive behavior I didn't want anyone to come into the house in fear of how he'd react. We scheduled a home visit from Justin and he demonstrated and explained how we need to introduce Buster to people when they would visit. During the holiday we had relatives that would be spending several days with us. It was time to take the tools Justin provided us and work with Buster. I was nervous on the outcome, but we were very successful.Many thanks to Justin for his great knowledge as a trainer. We will highly recommend him to anyone that wants training or has concerns about their dog.

Absolutely great place, after the first time at Oneka Pet Resort my pup knew where she was going and went in excited each time. When picking her up she was tired from all of the interaction and exercise she gets while we are away. We feel so comfortable with the staff - they treat the dogs so well, as if their own!

We’ve never boarded before and our Schnorkie has separation anxiety. He was there for 9 days, a lifetime for our dog. He came back very well adjusted and happy. I am so thankful to all the employees for greatly exceeding my expectations. Buddy had fun.

Jake Our 10 year old lab never boarded well. He would get so stressed he wouldn’t eat and often would vomit or have diarrhea. Once home he moped for days before getting back to normal behavior. Not at Oneka Pet Resort, he loves it and comes home happy. They are just wonderful.

Seven months ago I tragically lost my fiancé and the impact it had not just on the people in our family but, our dog as well ,was beyond difficult. I searched to find the right dog care for months and after investing a lot of money in training his first year, it was important that I found a place that was knowledgeable, responsible and familiar with Mastiff‘s. After trial and error, I decided to try Oneka. I called and initially spoke to Kendra who talked with me for a good 20 minutes answering all my questions as well as taking the time to explain their program in detail. After we hung up, I knew I found what I was looking for. Oneka has been a game changer for my dog Beans.. He went from losing his best friend and feeling mostly irritable and depressed , to making new connections that has brought back my happy go lucky puppy to life once more. The staff at Oneka have not only been compassionate but, they have been willing to work with Beans’s struggles . Justin, who is the trainer at Oneka, is professional, caring, considerate, and extremely knowledgeable. As I mentioned , I have had my dog in training in the past and I have been nothing less than impressed with Justin and his approach . He is amazing!! I would highly recommend him if anyone is in need of classes.My mastiff is 140 pounds and every day when I tell him we are going to Daycare, he can barely contain himself and bounces around like a big dopey bear. . It’s the cutest thing ever and it warms my heart to see the joy brought back into his life. Thank you Oneka for helping us smile a little more again! Much appreciation !

The owners are truly awesome people who truly care about their animals. I have been taking my dog to Oneka for almost 2 years and 100% trust them with my dog. I have taken my dog here for day care and boarding. With the boarding they cannot stay over night due to their location (city) policies. So understand this before boarding your dog. I was a little nervous at first boarding her withoit supervision at night, but they play with the dogs all day to make sure they are tired before they leave. My dog has always come home happy and tired. We love this place and would recommend this Oneka to anyone who needs a safe place for their pet.

If you are looking for a great place to take your dog, where you can trust they will be cared for the way you would care for them, then Oneka Pet Resort is your place!!!! We have been bringing our pup there since he was young and I wouldn't take him anywhere else! The owners are such amazing people and you know your dog loves it there when he runs inside and never looks back when we leave! He is tuckered out every time he goes there and when we mention going to see his buddies he runs straight for the door and bounces with excitement until we get there! If you want your pets to have the best vacation they can have while you are away, bring them in to Oneka Pet Resort, whether it's just for a few hours for daycare, or an extended stay, they will have a great time! They have nice hours and being open 7 days a week allows those of us with off hours to still be able to get there whether early morning or after work! Just AWESOME!!!! We LOVE Oneka!

You will not find a better place for boarding and daycare. I drive out of the way just to have my pup go here. They are extremely accommodating and caring. They also have had some of the same staff for years, which is comforting and speaks volumes.

My dogs have never been boarded for a long stretch. But my family went away for 8 days and I had to board them. I was quite nervous about that. I picked Oneka because they have lots of free playtime for the dogs. Unlike many places that charge for ala carte freedom, this is just baked in for dogs here.My dogs handled it like a champ. I called a few times to check in on how they were doing and when I got them they did not seem distressed, as they have a little at another place I boarded a short time overnight.The fact the dogs all get to play together as part of the cost is what makes this place nice, as well as the room and comfort of the kennels. My pups were in the big, luxury room, but I might "downgrade" them into a large kennel next time.

We love Oneka Pet Resort! We tried the other places near us and we not pleased. We found Oneka and have been using them for years! They manage to make us feel like our dogs are not only welcome, but that they are staff favorites. We use them when we go out of town and we've never had any issues at all. It's affordable and we trust that our dogs are going to have a great time while we are away. We don't worry about them a bit when we drop them off at Oneka Pet Resort. It's a great time for them and peace of mind for us!

Oneka Pet Resort is a safe, and caring place for either doggy daycare, or an extended stay. I have had a really great experience with this business. My two older large dogs stayed at Oneka for years, and now my medium sized mixed breed dog spends at least two days a week in daycare, and overnight whenever we travel. The owners, Jen and Nick, are great people who take fantastic care of the dogs. How do I know my dog likes it there? The first thing she does after arriving in the morning, when they come to take her to the back, is to roll on her back for a belly rub. She is all waggles when I pick her up, and sleeps for a long time when she gets home. I know she is getting the exercise she needs, and having a great time. On my busy work days, when I would feel guilty about not spending enough time with my dog, I have a safe place to take her, where she gets the exercise and attention she needs. Don't put too much stock in the two negative reviews. Everyone who I know that takes their dog here loves the place, and the owners. I have many years of taking my dog to Oneka, and can state without hesitation, that this is a great place for my active dog. Try it!05/30/2019 Editing because I have recently taken an obedience class with my dog:My experience with training at Oneka was very positive. I have a 5 year old mixed breed dog, who is very quick to learn new tricks, has been to multiple training classes with several different instructors and I hesitated a little bit at the basic training because I thought she knew it all. Boy was I wrong. Working on basic commands in a different way was very eye opening for me, and we have changed some of our routines based on what I learned in this class. My dog has trouble at the door when people enter our house, so we are working on that, and the simple sit or down stay is really important for her. If she can master a long down stay, then we can test her with people at the door. It isn't something I even thought of. The importance of her looking at me when I call her name is another thing that I had not worked on, but we do that now every time I take her for a walk. If she should get away from me, and has mastered that then I know she will look at me when I call her name. My expectations of this class were exceeded, and I am very happy that I attended. I look forward to attending additional classes in the future, and learning more about the behavior of my dog and the other dogs in the class. Watching them interact and having Justin explain what's really going on in their dog brains was enlightening. His training style is non-judgmental and takes into consideration what you want for you and your dog, which is refreshing having been to many different training programs who think their way is the only way.

We have been bringing our dogs, Sasha and Shelby to Oneka for 7 years now. They always know when they are going and they can barely stay still on the ride to drop them off. We have always appreciated the team and the care they give our girls. We not only do daycare we have also boarded and trust leaving them for a period of time.

We went to a couple other pet resorts/ doggie daycare places, and our dogs kept getting sick. I understand that those things will happen just like in human daycare, but after the 3rd time we wanted to try somewhere else. We found this place and haven't had any issues with that ever.Our dog Arlo has actually come so far since we started bringing him here. They are very attentive to his high maintenance nature and we appreciate it very much.

Our dog loves going to Oneka. She has so much fun and she is exhausted when she gets home (Oneka Hangover). The staff there is incredible. In response to Deborah's comment about nobody being at Oneka overnight, that's because of a ordinance in Hugo, not because they don't care. Had you asked them about how they handle not having anyone in the building overnight, you would have learned about all of the alarms and sensors they have (fire, water, temperature) and you would have also learned they are only minutes away and they train with the local fire department on how to get the dogs out safely in an emergency.

Our dog doesn't want to come home after we leave him at Oneka. It never occurred to me to use that as a measure of how good a kennel is until we took him there. We've tried a couple of other places (out of convenience), but I've never felt those other places were worth it after we had him stay at Oneka.

Our dog loves Oneka she has a great time and always comes back with an Oneka hangover because of all the fun she has had. You can tell the owners and their employees care about your pet well being! We are moving out of the area, but will make the 45 minute drive to Okeka because we won't trust anyone else to provide daycare or boarding for Tanzie.

I have a 9 month old puppy, that has boundless energy. She been going to Oneka's for close to five months for doggy day care. I drop her off and she plays like crazy, and pick her up 3+ hours later, and she's happy and exhausted. I do this 2-3 times a week, depending on the weather. It's very reasonable,too.

We have been bringing Red to Oneka Pet Resort since he was a puppy. He is now 12 and when we pull up he still can't wait to get out of the car, into the building and start playing. We never worry about Red when he is at Oneka because we know he is having a great time. Red suffers from seizures and the staff takes excellent care of him. Highly recommend!

Our Harley loves going to 'her resort' for the weekends that we are out of town. The staff is fantastic & always happy to see her. We have no hesitations about her well being while she is being pampered there. Great place to take your pooch.

In a nut shell I was told my 10 year old German shepard who was neutered as puppy and has never mounted anything tried to mount his German shepard and it caused a conflict between the two dogs therefore my dog couldn't play with other dogs for the whole week. I know for sure my dog doesn't mount any dogs so I know this isn't true. I was told he uses his dog to evaluate the other dogs and therefore the alone time. My dog in his 10 years has never mounted another dog nor in the probably 100s of interludes with other dogs has never had a fight.He said my dog nipped at him when he did his nails....again this dog has had nails done atleast a dozen times with no issues.I'm convinced our dogs both being male German shepards somehow led to this abusive stay but can't say for sure but do know I was lied to about my dog trying to mount his.They did seem to give him his medicine but the owners lies and my dog having to be alone this long are to much to just let slide. I had several people who could of watched him, I brought him there so he could play!!Yuck

I would never bring my dog back to this place, she was so stressed when I picked her up that she was sick with diarrhea for the next week and she now refuses to sleep in her kennel which she has loved sleeping in from the day we brought her home. I think she was left for many hours in her kennel. I found out after we had left that no one stays with these pets from 6 at night until they open again the next morning. Leaving pets alone for this many hours is uncalled for. What if there were a fire ???? NEVER AGAIN
