Quant old mercantile store. Its history is displayed with photographs, news articles, and memorabilia. Located on the shores of Grant Lake and the split of county road 4, it is the heart of this little town. The Holmes city post office is inside the store. Off sale liquor is available in an east entrance by the single gas pump. Fishing minnows are in a large tank, in a new (er) area in the back right corner!!!!!

Picturesque lakeside setting, souvenirs , live bait, fishing supplies, attached liquor store with separate entrance. There are snacks and beverages and a limited supply of household convenience store items. There is a place to sit down and enjoy a cup of coffee while looking at historic local photos and items. Plus, there is a real USPS post office window with a part time clerk and postal boxes. A gas pump is available outside, and it is common to see a recreational vehicle or a boat on a trailer filling up with gas.

Blades store is such a cute store right on the lake. Has a bit of everything and you can’t go wrong with the small-town friendliness the place has to offer. The new owner is wonderful and always accommodates customers to the best of her ability. Definitely recommend.

My family has had a cabin in Alexandria for over 50 years and I always remember stopping here. I still do. Awesome little store. Prices are steep but what do you expect for a store in the middle of no where and the convenience.
