My experience at the free range exchange was an excellent one. The owners/staff were very open to questions and conversation. They were very helpful and have a wide variety of food and drink. Breads and desserts are baked daily. I left with sourdough bread and a mocha cookie. If you get a chance to stop by I would highly suggest doing so. It was a great experience and I will definitely be back soon.

Had a great visit. The coffees were amazing and I love that I finally found a Mexican/Myan Mocha in the area.Parking: Plenty of street parking.

I highly recommend the Free Range Exchange! I tried the PB and Banana smoothie and the Raspberry Almond Cake. Both were so delicious and fresh tasting!! I definitely want to go back and try their lunch sometime!!

Glad I found this sweet little place on my way through SE MN. There needs to be more farm to table type joints like this along our towns. Hope to return someday and try the quiche!! BTW...the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was great...as was the coffee! Very nice!!

Today’s visit: Got my daily supplements, 3 different kinds of soup (2 from the fridge and one hot), and ginger shots! One stop shop for so much greatness, especially when I’m feeling under the weather!Dietary restrictions: Almost always have gluten free options and sometimes vegan!

Great food and lattes! Had the privilege of meeting one of the owners and it is so refreshing to see people investing in their communities. We are excited to come back soon!

Incredible baked goods, we picked up some fluffernutter brownies, apple kuchen, and savory scones. Also have an outstanding everything pretzel. Coffee drinks are likewise in the spectrum of awesomeness

Absolutely love this place! Stopped by with a friend after a hike and had a great conversation with the owner. Very cozy and inviting, great selection of food and drinks, and what we had was delicious! The Maple Chipotle Chicken Wrap was incredible, and their coffee is great quality and delicious. Will definitely be coming back

Just moved to back to the area recently - pleasant surprise to have a new fav place to go that makes our new bluff-town feel home, just down the road.May be a bit more spendy than any one of a thousand corporate chains in the area, but supporting local farmers and goods makes it worth it.Also best breakfast burrito in the area!

Awesome food and coffee with a great focus on local food! Epic quiche, baked goods, and much more- everything is made from scratch! Try a Mayan Mocha, hot or iced, if you like a little spice! The owners are super friendly and great to chat with. Love the cute vibe and the plethora of local produce, meat, eggs, coffee beans, and artisan wares they have for sale. The patio is full of beautiful herbs, flowers, and veggie plants in the summer and even has heaters in the winter! So glad the Free Range came to Hokah!

Very upsetting experience yesterday and was not happy with outcome. Questioning my trust & good faith placed in them. Hopefully they will correct this matter.

This cafe is a gem. My family gathered here to celebrate a birthday because the birthday girl chose it after reading reviews. We were a large group and the staff was very accommodating as we waited for seating. The food was absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed a savory scone and veggie quiche. Wonderful dining choices and great service.

Charming place with excellent service! All local food that tastes delicious and so fresh! The BLT was on a soft homemade bread with a tasty tomato "smash", cheese and the best bacon ever! Served with a garnish of pickled green beans. Yum! The bacon broccoli cheddar quiche was served with a side of greens with balsamic dressing. Perfect lunch stop!

First time trying this place and I'll definitely be back again! Great food (we tried scones, the winter BLT, quiche and flat bread) and as someone with young kids I appreciate that they have smoothies with real fruit and the option to add hemp, chia or flax seeds. They also have oat milk which is my favorite in lattes. For the quality and locally sourced food the prices were very reasonable. And friendly service to top it off!

I ordered an iced salted caramel latte, and it was not impressive in the least bit. I tasted no hint of caramel, and it was watered down and bitter - not even a good coffee flavor. We also had to wait 10 minutes for our 4 breakfast sandwiches after calling 10 minutes before our arrival. Their coffee USED TO be good. There service USED TO be quick, and their food USED TO be delicious. They have depreciated immensely in all areas.

I can’t recommend them highly enough. A perfect little bakery/coffee shop. They put real care into every single thing they make and sell. Making Hokah and the world a better place, one scone at a time

The whole fam loved this cafe. I enjoyed the coffee from a local roaster, the chorizo egg burrito and a almond/cherry scone. Smoothies were a hit too! The owners served us and are so nice and welcoming. It's closer to La Crosse than I was expecting too.We will be going back soon.

Free Range Exchange is a lovely addition to this little town. Offering farm to table goodness is a perfect way to bring a healthy and delectable choice to Hokah, not to mention, the coffee is amazing!! The owners and staff are very knowledgable of the menu and they all have lovely, good natured dispositions. The cafe may feel small at first when you walk in, but once situated in your seat and able to take in the environment, it begins to feel calming and comforting. The decor represents both the owners and the town; wholesome and witty with MN pride. The food was delicious; it felt good eating it knowing it was freshly prepared and came from local sources. This is truly a lovely place, and Hokah is lucky to have it. Take the time to visit this place, you won't be disappointed.

Easily the most adorable shop in the most overlooked and underrated town in SE Minnesota. The amount of local wares and goodies that accompany such a nice and delicious café has Free Range Exchange stand out from the rest. If you are ever within a 20-mile radius of Hokah while traveling, make this your pit stop. It will not disappoint.

A beautiful (or 'quaint' if you prefer) small cafe in an historic building. My spouse had been there once and loved it so we stopped for lunch. If you need a lot of choices this might not be right for you - for example there were two primary lunch options today, in addition to pre-made sandwiches and salads. But I had the winter BLT that came on homemade focaccia with dilly bean pickles as the side and my wife had the sweet potato soup with focaccia and both were delicious. Throw in a quality cup of Joe and a delicious muffin (it happened to be gluten free/vegan, so yes those are available options) and you've got a nice lunch!I know their hours are currently limited so do check before making a trip, but if you're in the area or passing through looking for reasonably priced good food in a unique casual, homey atmosphere with friendly staff, consider giving it a try.

Quaint little place to pop in and experience freshly made bakery goods. My friend and I each had a sandwich with locally sourced ingredients. Very good! We'll be back again for sure. 😁

Cozy, great menu full of fresh, locally-grown ingredients and nice menu options. Many options for breakfast and lunch, including soups, sandwiches, flatbreads, salads & soup, along with a great coffee bar and baked goods. Worth a little drive to Hokah--absolutely delicious.
