I can't say enough about this veterinary clinic!If you're looking for a down and dirty answer whether to take your pet, my answer is absolutely YES!They are fair, they are honest, they are upfront about costs. Most importantly they treat you and your animals like part of THEIR family!The veterinary staff here are excellent, kind, and knowledgeable and are willing to share their knowledge with you to help you be the best animal parent you can be.I drive over 2 hours to this clinic and it is worth the drive every time!A solid 5 stars! 🤩

On 4/19/24 my family and I had to make the very difficult decision to let our beloved 18 year old cat Johnny cross over the rainbow bridge. In his last years of life Johnny had to have one of his eyes removed and then he lost vision in his other eye resulting in total blindness. This made any sort of traveling for Johnny to be very stressful. We made the call to this clinic hoping that they would be able to provide in-home euthanasia so Johnny’s passing would be more peaceful for him. Dr. Diane and her husband Jim came that Friday evening. From the minute they walked in they showed us the upmost kindness and compassion. They conversed with my family and I about Johnny’s amazing lifetime adventures and then gave us time to say goodbye. Because of them, Johnny was able to peacefully pass surrounded by those who loved him most while lying in his favorite spot on his bed. In the following days Dr. Diane also went above and beyond by sending us a comforting text message and a written card. She and her husband truly turned one of the hardest days of our lives into something that we will remember as being peaceful and we will be forever grateful for them. Thank you Dr. Diane and Jim.

Great vet! Dr Cologi has been seeing my dogs for years and it's a great veterinarian. He has a great personality and really cares about your pet. They won't nickel and dime you either.

Absolutely amazing! My son's and I woke up around 9am to our 20year old cat not doing so good, we wanted to do whatever we could go help him pass peacefully. We called our vet of over 10years to get him in, they said we had to wait until after hours (so until about 6pm) for them to see him(if he would even last until then). They said nothing else they could do so I called Hastings Veterinary, never being there before and they were so wonderful from talking on the phone to getting us in ASAP to having us come in the side door so we didn't have to deal with all the people, the option of paying before anything so we could just be with our beloved family member for as long as we needed to say goodbye. So kind, so loving, so understanding, simply amazing. They will be my vet from now on! Thank you Hastings Veterinary for being so wonderful! We truly appreciate it from the bottom of our ❤!

Most of the staff is great and super nice. My dog does great there every time she has gone in. Unfortunately I am writing this two star review because I was turned away when promised an appointment. I took my dog in due to some stomach issues she was having and throwing up every morning. The doctor that saw her was super nice and recommended that I try a different diet. She stated that if my dog threw up the next morning that I would be able to get into the clinic the next day for an X-ray appointment. Well, she threw up again after throwing up for a week straight and I called to make an appointment. The person who answered the phone stated that they were full for the day and couldn’t get me in. I kept trying to explain that the Doctor that saw my dog said that she would put it in my chart that my dog would be able to get an appointment that day. The woman just kept saying that she could get me in a couple days later and I kept saying that I could not do that. I ended up having to drive to a veterinary clinic about 1 hour away for my dog to be seen. I was able to get in and get an X-ray and now I know what is going on with my dog. I felt that the interaction with the person on the phone was rude. I understand that clinics get full very fast and you usually can’t get an appointment same day, but if the Doctor promises that you can get an appointment and puts it in your chart, you should be able to get in. I am very disappointed with this interaction but hope that this will be fixed and that there will be better interactions in the future.

Our GSD was attacked by another dog on a walk, wife called and said me (husband) and my dog were on the way there, and it was right before closing. When I got there they knew I was the emergency and I was in a room right away with a vet tech and then the vet very shorty after to do a thorough physical checkup. Prescribed the necessary meds and we were out the door <$100 and she has healed up great! I was a nervous wreck so they really helped us feel good about everything! We will continue going there for routine care!

They are the lowest price in town, had 1 vaccine and 6 teeth removed and dental work done on my beagle for about $1000 cheaper then vet in Cottage Grove. Have been going here since 2006.

At the recommendation from a friend, I brought Maddy here for her updated vaccinations. She did really well.Dr Cologgi was very friendly, helpful and explained the process, as well as future visits. Overall friendly staff.

It makes me sick to see how Big Pharma has now infiltrated the veterinary industry, and tired of having tests and drugs and new products pushed on me, not to mention the hefty prices. So I searched for another new vet and found Hastings Veterinary Clinic. They were able to get us an appointment in a timely manner, even for 9 five week old pups and their mom. I was quite bedraggled when I wheeled in with these 8 pound monsters in a wheelbarrow and no leash on their mom, but I was warmly greeted. Dr Diane thoroughly examined each pup and gave mama a once over as well, all for less than $86!!! Our previous vet's cost was $15 per pup + $60 for mom for a grand total of $195, although I'm sure they would've tacked on more expenses while there. Additionally, I got no push back from neither Doc nor Tech when discussing administering vaccines and wormer ourselves as we currently tend to the majority of veterinary care, including shots, for our livestock. Doc was also willing to advise on what to use rather than spitefully leaving me to figure it out myself. So refreshing. Found our new vet!! Thanks!

This place is fantastic. Friendly and caring and very reasonable prices (I have four cats- vet bills can add up but I’m never afraid to look at the bill after a visit here!). I’ve had three urgent issues arise with my cats over the past two years and they’ve always been able to see them the same day, despite being very busy and having to deal with all the challenges of the pandemic. Absolute rock stars!

Always take great care of our animals. My family has been coming here for 20 years in general and have had a great experience with Diane in particular, but really all their vets seem to be knowledgeable, humble and humane. I am a quadriplegic who gets around via the use of a power wheelchair and I'm lucky enough to have a service dog who has received great treatment here. Not really sure what other places would even charge because I trust these guys more, but prices have always seemed eminently reasonable as that can unfortunately be a concern for all walks of life nowadays.PS 09/29/2022 I haven't been to Hastings recently, so for anyone else lucky enough to say that make sure you plan an extra 20 minutes to arrive just to deal with the nightmare that is getting in and out of town or to local businesses located near 316/61TL:DT? Don't be afraid to use car dealers lots as extended driveways/alleyways to get there. Google maps is great, but don't think that they legally could advise this...;-)

I've used this vet clinic a few times and always been impressed. They are courteous, professional, and knowledgeable. The vet showed great compassion and bedside manner when giving me some bad news. (Wasn't their fault; was an old rescue cat who'd run out of luck - RIP Diocletian <3) They've been skillful and professional when treating our other pets, too. To top it off, this is somehow the lowest-priced vet I've ever been to. Very happy to have a veterinarian of this quality in town.

I just brought my kitty Mynx in today. I was so thankful to get her in to be seen on the same day I called. Every time I called, the receptionist was very pleasant. We saw Dr. Bradley today and he took great care of Mynx. He answered all of my questions and was very informative about our treatment plan. Mynx seemed comfortable when she was returned to me at my car. Although finances are tight at the moment, I appreciate that our vet bill was reasonable.

A little on the expensive side, but the excellent care our pets have received makes it worth it! Everyone was really nice, explained things thoroughly and seem to genuinely care for animals.Update: The clinic appears to be consistently busy, which may make it challenging to receive prompt service during emergencies or urgent situations. However, if you're able to plan ahead and book an appointment several business days in advance, they could be a solid option.

Fantastic caring vet clinic. Fit me in for the first time for an appointment for my older cat.Dr. Flick is very good! Kept me in the loop with each test. Ashley helped with all the additional questions I had about the clinic. This is a very welcoming, caring professional place of business. Will be bringing my golden here as well!! Highly recommend!!
