Great local place. Kinda rugged and low key. A good family spot. Great experience and food. I would still really appreciate it if the server speaks to me and not just my husband. I am always puzzled as to why they do this. Maybe they assume he's the one who is probably paying the bill so I don't matter? The pizza was great and there was plenty. So we were able to take leftovers home for later.

Food was Very good. The Reuben pizza was a great appetizer in small size! The Meat loaf sandwich was very good with alittle bit of bit to it. And the Burger was a 7/10 easy. The only complaint...is There didn't seem to be enough servers in our area. Therefore not giving the server ample time to make the experience more personable. Was told 1 hr* waited about 1 hr 30 mins. It was a Friday night I'll give them that. The food was that good. We will stop in again soon!

Great place for prime rib. Hubs had the prime rib and I had broiled shrimp. 9h and steak bites and walleye fingers for apps..Apps were very tasty. Prime rib was very good. The shrimp was a little hard but the seasoning was good. Our waiter (John) was good, didn't hover but you knew he was there if you needed him. Only bad thing is the lighting combined with the small print on the menu made it hard to read. It is very popular so it is noisy in there. Also pay attention to the signs when you arrive the hostess stand is around the back area from the front sign.Parking: Smaller on site parking but plenty of street/city parking.

I heard this place had the best prime rib so I had to try it out with a couple buddies. Did not disappoint, food was delicious and our waitress was great. Definitely will be back.Wheelchair accessibility: Parking was busy but had a few handicap spots open, there is also one right next to the outdoor seating its it's a little out of sight to see from the road though

Wow! Amazing service. Amazing food. We have a lot of allergies, and they were incredibly accommodating. Highly recommend. They have outdoor seating all year round. They put up little huts with heaters in them. And, there's an outdoor play area for little kids. Phenomenal!

Met there with friends.The Gouda cheese and steak soup was off the chain good.I remember coming here when I was a 14 year old kid, 50 plus years ago with our pig farmer neighbor. It was a small town bar with 10 cent tap beer.Great place.

Been coming here for awhile now and it’s probably the one restaurant in the area that’s consistent with food, service, and atmosphere. We enjoy the shrimp tacos, French dip sandwich, the chicken Caesar wrap, loaded river rounds and the burgers (miss the burger buffet!) Our server tonight was Brooke and she was fabulous. Will be back as always.

This is a wonderful place to have a meal and relax! My wife and I came here for dinner and loved the service and the quality of the food. The beer cheese soups was delicious and was ingeniously served with popcorn than combined beautifully, the burger was delicious and juicy and the pizza was great and crunchy. The building itself is really cool with the outside fire pits made it cozy and warm. Highly recommended!!!

My husband is trying to convince me not to write another rave review of The River Inn of Hanover because he worries it will encourage more people to eat there and create long wait times. However, they deserve this and more. Not only is the food incredible and something our family, friends, and out-of-town guests always enjoy, but the first-class service and "small town," welcoming atmosphere are amazing. Even if you have to wait for a table, hanging out by the fire pit is sure to bring great conversation with fun people. The entire team there is friendly and genuine; we love chatting with them all. They are very attentive...drinks are refilled before you even realize they're half full. We've had so many things on the menu and buffet and everything has been awesome. Tonight we tried their new seasoned sour cream and WOW! It is the best we've ever had. You get a large serving for $1, much less expensive than at other restaurants and enough that both of us has leftovers for another meal.Kudos to Jodi and Rick for making River Inn such a wonderful place for our community and for our family to celebrate the end of the school year... and many other occasions over the years.

The service is the best and the food is always delicious. So consistent, and so great to kids and families. The only reason I didn't want to leave a review is so less people go and I don't have to wait an hour + for dinner at times.

Had a pleasant lunch at River Inn.. the Steak Bites and Prime Rib plate were both excellent. However, the fried shrimp and walleye were both heavily battered and not fresh tasting. Correct me if I'm wrong but they both seemed like a pre battered fishstick product?!? The walleye tasted..lets just call it not very fresh and the shrimp were not impressive either. Ill be back to try more stuff because the staff was so friendly and accommodating.

Stopped by the River Inn at the suggestion of our sister-in-law.Glad we did. The staff were friendly and helpful. Met the owner Jody and she was very nice. Jody gave us a run down on the history of the establishment. Impressive history.The food was equally impressive. Prime Rib??? Oh yes... Burgers were great as well. Starters were also great.The staff and quality of food are why small businesses succeed and the River Inn epitomizes these traits.Thank you too Jody and the rest of the staff.We'll be back... The Best place to go. Great staff, friendly, kind, and on top of it all. Food is amazing, never disappointed. We found this place when we moved to Otsego.They have added a new outdoor venue, and more seating outside.You have to walk over the Historic Bridge too.Parking: This place is so popular, you can park on side streets, almost would benefit you to do a ramp 🙂
