*******************************Baby bird pictures added!!!!*******************************We had a modest coop with about 30 birds. This past winter during one of the blizzards that hit the east coast, we lost 20 birds due to a tree falling on the coop and predation. As keeping birds is a major part of our lives, relaxation, and sanity, we went looking to rebuild our flock.We have always gone to local sources for my birds as we believe in seeing the animal to avoid the possible swindles. Having no luck at the local and a few distant ones, my neighbour – who raises chickens – recommended Stromberg’s. Having looked previously at online sources who list non-existent, infected, overpriced, and half-dead ones we were skeptical, however the healthy chickens persuaded us to look. We went online and looked at their offerings.Their site is simple and direct without unnecessary navigation or endless pop-ups and squeezes. Like other retailers, they offer store gift cards, take various forms of credit and should one have questions there is a LIVE, knowledgeable, friendly person at the other end of their telephone number. Shipping is clearly explained, priced, and with tracking information from door to door.The selection of pigeons and doves we found there were beyond our expectations. Racers, tumbler, show, and colours oh my! We settled on a pair of doves. We want to rebuild our flock plus the offered option of receiving a bonded pair was a huge bonus. They will select and pair the birds, even different types, if requested! We submitted our order and waited. They sent email notifications about the progress of our birds as well as telephoned us on the day of shipping.When we received the tracking number, we eagerly watched for the updates on our mobiles.24 hours after notification of the birds shipping, we received a call from the post office who was shocked to see healthy birds as they usually arrive in smaller cramped containers or small unfit boxes and sadly dead. They arrived in a huge ‘happy meal’ type box (see picture) with bedding and food. They were cooing, energetic, and slightly thirsty. We transferred them to a transport basket with food and water and went happily home.At home we placed them into our separate nesting area to acclimate them to the coop, the weather, and then in a few days, the rest of the flock. They drank, ate, and seconds after putting nesting material inside they were at it. Podo and Kodo laid 2 eggs within 3 days of their arrival. I will say these doves are by far the best I have seen in several years. They are docile, used to being handled, and have integrated into the flock easily. They are healthy, lively, and beautiful examples of their colour. We are awaiting the new additions to the flock with broad smiles. Having such a positive experience, we ordered another bonded pair, albino and pied.We plan using Stromberg’s exclusively as our bird source and recommend them confidently. We give then 5 stars as they truly have earned it.

I’ve always ordered online when it comes to Strindberg s and have never had that much trouble, I’ve ordered both geese and chickens. They come happy and healthy every time.

I ordered two pair of Saddleback Homing pigeons from Stromberg's Chicks and Gamebirds. They were sent via express mail USPS and arrived within about 36 hours, safe and sound. They were exactly what I ordered for color and sex. Thanks to Laura for answering my questions about when they would ship and how long it generally takes for them to arrive, etc. She was very helpful to a new customer.

I would highly suggest looking elsewhere if you're planning on purchasing birds, or having anything to do with their customer service.I purchased a male black lace classic old frill pigeon from here and I've never seen a living thing shipped with such little regard. The bird was in a completely unmarked box, had tape over majority of the holes, and the top wasn't taped correctly so it ripped. I had contacted USPS about this, partially due to the bird having to go 48 hours without water, and they informed me of the unmarked box. When I contacted Stromberg's customer service the person I talked to, Heather, was beyond rude. They rudely talked over me from the beginning, claimed USPS was lying and insinuated that I was lying as well. I've since provided them with picture proof. They also tried to blame my local post office, which is run by the nicest people! The postal worker expressed his concern over the bird due to it not making any noise, but was able to look in through the large tear on top and see a living bird.Over the years I've had dozens of living things mailed to me, including feeder insects and plants. Those had boxes labeled as containing live animals or live plants and were securely taped without covering the majority of the holes. All in all this interaction was by far the worst I've ever had the displeasure of experiencing, from how poorly the bird was shipped to how absolutely deplorable their customer service is. I will be purchasing from reputable breeders from now on and suggest that you do the same and not spend your money here.

I placed an order on 2/26/23 for 15 chicks that were to be shipped on 3/13. We never received an order status update, tracking number or call. After several days of looking for chicks to be in the mail we did not receive anything. We have tried calling several times to get an update and the lady could never get us an answer as to where my order was. I sent an email with no reply. We will not be doing business again. I understand if an order was missed or something as I am in business too but customer service would be nice to at least give me an answer as if I’ll ever receive by birds.

Don't waste your money on liars and shady sales tactics, don't waste your money with this company and their lies. This company will lie to you all day and the response from the owner to these reviews shows me that they will continue to lie for the foreseeable future. We ordered chickens and were given a date that they would hatch and be shipped. We called once and the lady on he phone told us the chicks had hatched (this was a lie) and that they would be sent, we should expect them in the next few days. We called the next day for an update and were told the chicks had shipped! That we should check with the post office because they were on their way. Post office says they have no knowledge of the package, so, we called again today and the person pretended she didn't remember that she told us they had shipped. She claimed that we should have received a tracking number by now. Why would she mention this? She knew the chicks had "hatched" and "had shipped" and without a tracking number, how did she know they were shipped? (She didn't know because they weren't shipped, she simply lied during all three phone calls.) The sad answer is she just made it up. This time we demanded to speak with her supervisor, a miracle happened and she told the truth, the chicks haven't shipped, at all. Unless we had called daily and then demanded to speak to her supervisor she would have continued to lie and we would have continued to take off work to pick up baby chickens that they collected money for, but, they never sent and still to this day have not sent out. IF they ever do send them they will be FAR older than "day old chicks" this entire company is a fraud.

Have ever only ordered online. Have always ordered all chicks from Strombergs. My last orders have not been great. Last year all my chicks arrived healthy, but one of my assortments was the wrong breed. They gave a partial refund and I chalked it up as no big deal. This year I ordered pheasants and they had to issue a refund saying they were unavailable. Disappointed, but still a loyal customer. This spring I got two separate orders of chicks. First order was 100 California Valley Quail chicks. When they arrived over half were DOA many didnt make it past the first week. Ended up with 25. Received my second order of assorted chicks, and many more DOA.The cherry on top is now my remaining Quail have grown-up and they are not California Valley Quail they are Gambel Quail. That was the final straw I will have to take business elsewhere. Mixing up chick breeds multiple times was just too much. I now have to wait until spring again to hopefully get correct chicks from someone else.

Do not order from this company. My first order from last year I received Guineas which half of them were dead inside 72 hours. Ok, so they issued a credit memo and I saved it for the Spring chicken order. The pre order email came out early February and I got my order in fast and paid upfront. Today I received my ship date. Late July it said. That’s unacceptable. Three other hatcheries are able to get orders out mid Spring. I called to cancel the order and Strombergs charged me $10 to cancel my order. On eggs that haven’t even been laid yet!! On an order that won’t be fulfilled for five months!!!Never again will I do business with this company ever! Evvveerrrrr!!So mad over this fly by night hatchery. Shipping me dead birds and charging fees on money I faithfully paid them upfront.This is a scam company!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I ordered ducklings from strombergs, thet of coutsr charged me the next day, but no delivery (illegal), I had to call several time to confirm that my order was placed. I emailed many times ovsf the next month and never got an answer.when I called to check on my order nobody knew why it hadn't shipped, but never would find out and get back to me. I finally had to cancel my order.now I see the reviews, and I'm far from the only one they've done this to.I'll definitely not be doing business with Strombergs again, and I'll be sure nobody I know does either

Update: pleased with Strombergs for making this right...they addressed the issue to my satisfaction. Tried getting fertilized California quail eggs for the kids to try in our incubator. A bunch arrived cracked. We've done bobwhite quail and chickens before in the same incubator and had high hatch rates, but only one of the 30 hatched (granted quite a few came cracked.) I contacted company right when we realized only one hatched and exchanged a few emails and the last was on July 5 saying they'd get back with me but they did not. As an experiment for my kids (and to see how many were actually fertilized) they dissected the eggs that didn't hatch. Only two others were fertilized, plus the one that hatched ...out of 30. (I attached kind of gross picture.) Company said we didn't tell them within 48 hours of eggs arriving, but that is kind of a scam when you can't tell that only three are even fertilized until after they are incubated. All in all, bad experience that they just brushed off. They could have easily given a partial refund or sent more eggs, but the customer service lady just fell of the side of the Earth instead. And clearly their male California quail is mostly shooting blanks.

Definitely will by buying from here again! I ordered a male ringnecked dove from their website and as anyone buying birds online, I was quite skeptical about it. I did make the move and bought it even though I asked so many questions about how long it will be till the bird arrives and what I should do to make him happy, they were extremely kind and were helpful with everything. Will be buying doves from here and suggesting it to others!

I placed and order for 15 chicks. Received them several weeks later. 7 were dead on arrival. I called and they agreed to replace the 7 if I would pay for 8 more so they could ship 15. I agreed and the order was placed. By day two 6 more chicks were dead leaving two from the original order. About 3 weeks later I received an email saying my chicks would ship in about 4 weeks. By that time I was tired of waiting and I cancelled that order. They refunded the amount for the 6 I had to pay for on the second order but not for the original 6 lost on day two which according to their guarantee they should have. To summarize, I paid for 15 chicks and ended up getting two that made it more than 48 hours. ( the 2 that made it are still doing great) Will not order from again.

I've been buying beekeeping equipment from them for years and never had a bad experience. Now that they sell chickens too, it is even better. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Loads of equipment, feed, and birds. You can walk right in and browse all of it. Great setup. I bought 15 birds and they were all healthy and happy.

They do not stand by their policies or word. I have in writing, “If you wish to cancel you must call us at least 7 days before your ship date”. My ship date is Monday, May 1st. I called today, Monday, April 24th. That is a week, aka 7 days. They refused to cancel my order.

I ordered turkeys in April of this year. I was concerned about shipping them since we are in a heat wave in the Pacific Northwest and it’s the end of June. I asked them if we could delay and the customer service was terrible. We don’t contact you or change shipping dates is what I was told. Specifically our Hatcher’s haven’t received any concerns so therefore what you are saying isn’t a concern for us. Wow! The worst customer service I have received all year. I know we will lose some turkeys because it’s 113 degrees and that is not normal for Washington state. Poor customer service and common sense. 🙁

I ordered goslings for May delivery. Got notice they were shipping in April, bur we were traveling, so I called to reschedule back to the original understood date in May. A gentleman on the phone said he was able to do that and advised he did so. Now, no sign of the birds. 4 phone calls resulted in promises to return with news from the hatchery, but I get nothing. I'm wasting another hour now on the phone with these poor performers and I'm beginning to get angry. They received full payment in February. Avoid this place they are ripping me off. And, BTW, their prices are up 400% over last year.

I ordered online on a Sunday and my order was delivered on Friday! I was shipped from MN to TN. All chicks were healthy and happy! We ordered the standard 25 so I doubt we will have to order again anytime soon. I LOVED the assortment of flock and the customer service. I believe their informational page is quite informative. I am still awaiting the gel pack which was not delivered with the chicks however that may be sitting in my mailbox. Overall, I am very satisfied with my order the process and customer service! Thank you and I will suggest your service to anyone I know in the market for chicks, juveniles or adult birds! Thank you SO MUCH for a wonderful experience and be BLESSED!

We ordered 30 assorted silkies. Package was perfect and all chicks arrived alive and strong. After careful inspection of each bird I found them to be great stock for pets. Shipment coordinated perfectly as well, including a phone call when shipped. Highly recommend this company.

I haver never been in their store so this review is for purchasing online. Good Luck! I would avoid buying from them. I ordered some laying boxes. 5 to 7 day delivery, no other information on the website or purchase pages. It has been 17 days since I ordered and no information on shipping arrival. When you call their number the phone rings and rings, you have to let it ring like 20 times before the system pick you up and puts you in the automated que. I waited 20 minutes the first call and never got answered. I waited 30 minutes on the second call. They answered and told me that my product came form a third party and they would be available 2 to 4 weeks from order (no mention of that at all on their website when purchasing). After that timeframe then then would mail it 5 to 7 days from supplier notifying them or something like that. I hope their in person service is better than the website. Still waiting for product and haven't been informed of an arrival.

We ordered the shrink wrap poultry bags from your website. We needed them by this weekend and were so worried they wouldn't get here in time. By Wednesday, 2 days after ordering, there they were! Even better you had the best price anywhere! We processed our first chickens this weekend and although I've only seen a few home grown chickens, these bags looked much better than what I've seen since they have the curved bottoms. You will be our choice for all of our processing items from now on! Thank you!!!

Stromberg's has a awesome selection of birds and bird supplies.I have placed several orders with Stromberg's Chicks and Gamebirds and couldn't be happier. I contacted customer service a few times to coordinate the timing of my deliveries (live birds/eggs) both over the phone and email and received prompt replies and great service each time.It's rare these days to have an email message returned promptly with viable information or someone who really helps you over the phone.Great company that I plan to continue to do business with!Note: I would like to see more customer product reviews on the website! People, post reviews of what you like and dislike about the products. I will review my purchased products.

Absolutely amazing service. Customer service is the basis for my entire business, and these folks were top notch!!! Not only was the process easy to understand, the shipping was easy, the billing was prompt, and no matter what the question was, they were glad to be of service. They even went above and beyond when it came to our first time buy, and they refunded for a few unfortunate chicks. The stock selection is incredible, and I must have looked at 20+ companies to buy from. I won't use anyone else for this size of an order (25 chicks +) and I can't wait until the opportunity to use them again. Choose Stromberg's and you won't be let down.Bravo and God Bless.

I placed my first order with Stromberg's this past January. It was for 25 chicks of 4 different varieties, and I requested a specific shipment date in April. The cost per chick included shipping, and I found this convenient. I also liked that I could request a particular ship date.When I had a question about my order, I emailed Customer Service and always got a prompt, helpful, and courteous reply. Customer Service is important in my book, and I rate Stromberg's outstanding.My chicks arrived on schedule, and they were all alive, healthy, and bouncey. It's been a day now, and all the chicks are eating, and drinking, and zipping around, no frailties or casualties. I would order from Stromberg's again and recommend them to anybody who wants high quality mail order chicks with no worry. I shared this order with a friend, and she, too, was favorably impressed with her chicks; she has purchased many chicks from many different sources and says Stromberg's does it "right."Email me in 6 mos. for an update on the chicks.

I ordered some goslings from Stromberg's in March of 2022 and received a notification that they would ship 4/18 - the time passed and after two weeks I called and after letting the phone ring over 50 times the phone finally was answered by what appeared to be a third party answering service. I coomunicated to this party that I wanted to talk to a live representative. 30 more rings and a woman answered - she agreed the order had not shipped said it was strange and said she would look into it and call me back - she noted at that time that I had reached out several times via email as well. I never heard back but did receive a notification a week later that the geese has shipped on 5/3/22 - This was not true and had not occured althought the company MannLake which Stromberg either buys or owns sent this. I emailed the company Mann Lake and heard nothing. Then in desperation I called Stromberg's again. The woman on the phone told me the birds shipped on 4/18- I told her that wasn't true - she essentially told me I was lying - Finally she said she would call over. I asked for her supervisor name which she gave me reluctantly and told her I would call her supervisor if I did not here back- she gave me a sarcastic laugh and hung up the phone - 5 minutes later or less she called back and said there were no birds and my money would be refunded in 3 to 5 days. I received no apology and no notification from the company that they had no birds - I wondered if I had not called if they would have ever refunded my money.

I ordered 25 turkeys and 8 geese. It was difficult to contact anyone concerning my order they have an answering service but no one calls you back, no one responds to email, finally got a call when I posted a message on FB. Turkeys were shipped on a Tuesday and didn't arrive until Friday. 3 dead which is not unexpected. But by the end of the weekend we had lost half! We are experienced turkey raisers and have never experienced this kind of mortality. I FB messaged to express my concerns and I have heard from no one. No response to email or to message left with answering service. We have not seen our goslings nor had any communication about them. I understand that the pandemic has everyone buying birds and that staffing has had to be reduced, but please just communicate with your customers. Now I know to buy straight from the hatcheries. We have bought from Steinberg's for years, sad to see the customer service so diminished.

I had 2 doves of which the female bird died and I needed to replace her for a mate to the male bird. I contacted Stromberg Chicks and Game Birds and they helped me pick out the right mate for my bird. Once they notified me of the bird being shipped out to my local post office it only took 48 hours for her to arrive. The bird was in perfect condition, it even had food and a place to sleep in the shipment container. The shipment container allowed the bird to have air but also kept warm. My bird is happy with her new home and to be with her mate. I will recommend this business to any and everyone. The staff answered all my questions and kept in contact with me about my bird. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about their products.

My first three orders went smoothly. Every dead chicks was refunded with questions "What temperature were they placed in" - That's it.I liked it.but WATCH OUT FOR AMBER. ( I think ) she is a rude customer service agent. SHe said she worked there for 14-16 years. I just had to call back 4 times to ask questions about Red Jungle Fowls and she got mad or gave me attitude. I am not going to return to this seller anymore. There are other hatcheries that will value me more than Stromberg's employees.I sent a message complaining about this and never received a response.Until Stromberg's apologize to me, I will not shop with them anymore.HIGHLY NOT RECOMMENDED FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR CHICKS & REFUND SERVICE.I love their service. But the customer service just had to make me give them a 1 star. I HATED this website after that call.

Edit: I ordered a male and was sent a female. I sent a message about it and no one has responded to me.I ordered an orange ringneck dove from these guys and he's perfect! He just arrived today and he's happy and healthy, way more friendly than I expected. Will definitely keep these guys in mind if we expand our little family ❤️
