Interesting brewery. Very small bar, but lots of table seating. They have a separate gift shop, but also provide 25% of their space in the main area for merchandise. The beers are good, the prices are high given the location, the atmosphere is modern north woods, and the service is attentive even if they are busy. I visited in the off season, but you can tell it is packed during the summer.

A bit more like a restaurant that your usual brewery taproom, but good nonetheless! Downstairs has table service, upstairs/roof is for those who order beer at the bar and go up top if I remember correctly. Loads of merch available, much more than any other brewery I've been to. The beer and cheese curds were good, as well as the service. Lots of outdoor seating when weather allows. Nice place.

We visit them when ever in Grand Marais and in the past we give 5 stars. Stopped for the 1st time in 2 years and where craving the Reuben Egg rolls the whole drive up 61. This time the serving appeared smaller, just 2 egg rolls cut in half to make 4 smaller pieces? For the price, this is insane. Seemed to be missing the cheese inside and corn beef and kraut were not mixed. Beef on one end, kraut on the other half? Also shocked to see they do not offer any sort of cider or seltzers, not everyone likes beer.

I went to this restaurant on my vacation with my family. The food was amazing, as well as the brew. I ordered the most popular dishes after viewing their reviews. So I got to try their Reuben Eggrolls , Smoked Superior Herring, Thai Chicken Tacos, and Perch Tacos. Reuben rolls. I didn't care much, but my husband liked it a lot. My absolute favorites are Herring and the Thai Chicken Tacos. Herring was perfectly cooked and deliciously tender. The Thai chicken was flavorful and semi spicy. My husband tried a couple of their brews, and he said it was good. The environment was pretty clean, and the service was timely. It has a beautiful view of a harbor. Prices are fair.

We enjoyed a great meal of several of their appetizers... sadly they were out of the Ruben Eggrolls as they only make a set amount at the beginning of the day, so we doubled up on the cheesecurds...an order of pretzels with beer cheese dipping sauce and an order of naked wings with blue cheese dip …our diner companions went with the smoked herring & crackers, the rocket salad and flatbread pizza. We were seated right away and the service was warm and professional. Great little brewery serving small plates and beer of course… won't drink...so can't comment on the beer...but the patio was full of patrons enjoying many rounds…we wouldn't hesitate to stop here again when in Grand Marais. Nice relaxed vibes. Good quality food & excellent service

Loved the atmosphere. Visited twice in the same day. Beers were great as well as food! Josh the bartender was super friendly and had plenty of recommendations for sight-seeing. Patty was also extremely nice and gave us a free beer for our honeymoon. Will definitely be back next time we visit! Must stop by if in Grand Marais!

Honestly, I enjoyed the food more than the beer. Good local brews though with an amazing location and view of the lake. Every appetizer is worth trying: their cheese curds are uniquely delicious and the smoked fish from The Fisherman’s Daughter in town is a must (especially if Voyager is your only stop)

First time going up to Grand Marais from the Twin Cities and I'm happy we stopped here for dinner! The patio is unbelievable. The entire first floor outdoor patio is covered & heated from above. Dog- friendly on the patio from what I could tell. There's also a set of stairs that leads to an upstairs patio as well. Both floors look straight out to Lake Superior!I ordered the Devil's Kettle West Coast IPA as well as the Swamper Pilsner to accompany a salami flatbread and creme brulee. The beers were good but neither of them jumped out. Everyone was a fan of the Pie Royale though! The salami flatbread was a little undercooked... after driving 5 hours on an empty stomach I wasn't about to wait to have it re-fired haha. The taste of the flatbread was honestly great bread but a little flimsy. Also as my GF and I went in for the creme brulee, it was cold. The top could have been torched a little longer since it was missing that caramelized crunch. -- The rest of the table were happy with their Margarita flatbread, Reuben rolls, and cheese curds. All around Voyager Brewing is a must-visit in Grand Marais. A few tweaks and this place could have easily won 5 stars in my book. It has one of the best patios to drink a beer that a Minnesotan could ask for.

I got one of their hazy IPAs and it was very tasty and smooth. It did however cost $9.11 which I'm not stoked about paying that much for a beer but I got over it. The rooftop seating area was pretty cool and it was overall a great place to hang out! They also have a really fun gift shop with great t shirt graphics if you are looking for something to commemorate your north shore trip and the yummy slightly overpriced beer you got at Voyageur Brewing Co.

Update July 2023: We did return and were not disappointed! They updated their picnic board to include smoked fish. The Nitro oatmeal stout was amazing! The food was amazing and the beer was fabulous...You must try the picnic board! The Reuben egg rolls were also excellent. Can't wait to come back from Nebraska.

Fantastic beers! Tried several types with my family and were happy with each one. They also have some great small bites including smoked herring from Lake Superior. Highly recommend the blueberry sour. If you are feeling adventurous, take the imperial stout home in a crowler and make some floats with coffee ice cream. So delicious! Wish we could get the beer out of state.

The beer was great and the food was fantastic! Especially the smoked herring and reuben egg rolls! Creme Brulee was good, but not your classic that you'd expect.Service was exceptional!

We stopped here after our hike and our table was outdoor under a shady canopy! Our server, Robert, was friendly and knowledgeable - mulțumesc! The beer flight was good, I liked the our Blonde Ale (Brule River). The Chip & Dip was so so, the Pig Wings were quite good, the same goes for the Pulled Pork Sliders.

This place has great beer and food (the Ruben egg rolls were recommended by our server and they did not disappoint) but I do have one criticism, THEY HAVE NO NA BEER OPTIONS. Their NA options are basically root beer, soda or lemonade. I really like this place, one of my favorite breweries in MN, but i feel like they need to get with the times and provide at least one NA beer option

We had a wonderful lunch outside on the lower level deck at Voyageur Brewing Company today! We tried pulled pork tacos, fish tacos, cheese curds, and 3 of their hand crafted beers: Devil's Kettle, Lily Dipper, and Sled Hound. The tacos tasted great, although the fish tacos were a little light on the fish, the cheese curds were the best we've ever tasted, and the 3 craft beers we had were all great! The miro brewery has a simple and clean restaurant inside, and 2 outdoor decks (one on the roof and one on the first floor.) The view of Lake Superior is breathtaking and I highly recommend you have lunch or dinner here if you're in Grand Marais! I posted 90 photos for your perusal. Enjoy!

The food and service was very good. I had the wings which were top notch. You can tell they actually try on there wings, unlike most places. The sauce I believe was called raspberry Chipotle. You got the little sweet taste up front, with a little heat on the back side. We also tried the pretzel which didn't disappoint either. I'm not a craft beer person so I can't help you there. But everyone else seemed to be enjoying it. I will definitely stop in again!

We visited here while staying at Lutsen to ski. We had the flatbread salami, soft pretzel, cheese curds and perch tacos. All of the food and drink was top notch. Very very slow/poor service or we would have given 5 stars. We do plan on visiting again next year.

The food is fantastic but it's not a place I would go for dinner. Portion sizes are based more on snacking while drinking, and they do a great job. The Thai Chicken tacos and cheese curds had great flavor. Atmosphere is nice with an outdoor patio. You can bring your dog. It is a spendy place but if you are looking for something new, it is worth the expense at least once.

Very nice place and location. However when you order food, it's just the entree and no sides. The portion sizes were smaller than expected and we were still hungry afterwards. Not to mention the line was insanely long to get in.

The food is AMAZING. The beer is AMAZING. Everything about the Voyageur Brewing Company is great! Patty-O and the rest of the staff are just so friendly and accommodating. The outside seating is great and dogs are welcome on the lower patio. Make sure you stop by, its definitely worth it!

You can tell this is a local favorite as soon as you enter - crowded already by 5:30 on a Thursday I grabbed the last spot inside (a massive patio space though is adjacent and I have no doubt is full in the summers), and staff I engaged with were attentive and efficient, but on the food side I feel there’s room for improvement in at least what I ordered…As mentioned the two staff I engaged with were great and good ambassadors of the establishment, atmosphere was friendly and seems like a comfortable place to gather with friends. I dined there alone, ordering the charcuterie board in place of a dinner, paired with their own brew, a Brule River lager. The charcuterie board though visually appealing, had a significant imbalance of dry to wet if that makes sense. The fish being smoked runs naturally on the dry side, which is fine but being the star of the layout then the rest of the items need to really compliment. The sliced crumbly bread in my opinion had no place being included - in no way did this compliment the smoked fish (perhaps it would be ok if toasted?). In lieu of the dry cheeses (which lacked flavor and compounded on the dry fish and dry crackers and bread), I wish they would have offered more of the small balls of soft cheese rolled in sesame seeds (only 1 was included in my layout), or another type of soft cheese with some profile. Beer was good, but unable to purchase it onsite in can form, I later swung by the local liquor store where you’ll find 6 packs.

The Wife and I stopped in as we passed through Grand Marais on our way to Thunder Bay. Having had some less than stellar small town brewery experiences in the past, we each ordered a flight and hoped for the best. We also ordered a few bites to eat.We were pleasantly surprised by several of the beers in the flight (me: Belgian Wit, Devil’s Kettle IPA - her: German Helles, Belgian Wit). The others in the flight were all well-crafted and true to style. The porter could have had more body, but that’s me being nit-picky. The food was delicious. If you’re a wing nerd like me, you won’t be disappointed. If you’re a salad nerd like The Wife, she says you’ll be happy. The outside seating area is awesome, but we were there on a perfect day - it may not be so awesome on some days. The staff was very friendly. The place has cool swag. Overall, it was a great random stop on our trip. If you find yourself in Grand Marais in need of beer and wings, stop in.

Only a 4 because I did not try the brew, but the food was really good. Tried the BBQ raspberry wings (my favorite) then the pulled pork sliders (awesome) Thai chicken tacos (very good) and the Reuben egg rolls (good)!

What can I say, good beer. The Nitro Oatmeal Stout is SO smooth. Kind people too. Special shout out to Patty. That lady is a gem. I’d come back just for her. She was friendly, joked with us, fast service, and she let me throw another log on their wood burning fireplace to get flames booming. Bless her. Big love.

I was seated immediately on a stormy October evening. The Cheese Curds were perfect! The raspberry chipotle BBQ dipping sauce is my new favorite 😊 Thai Chicken tacos were also very good. The host and my server were both friendly and my food was served within minutes. I will definitely come back here.

No offerings for alcoholic beverage if you're not a beer drinker. No Cider or seltzer options.Egg Roll appetizers are $13 for 2 egg rolls cut in half. Very overpriced. Not impressed. I will not visit the next time I'm up for a visit.
