We've never had the opportunity to stay with them (we have a cabin up the trail), however we've dropped by to rent a boat or the pontoon a few times and everyone is always super nice. It's clearly a family owned operation (Guy was happy to introduce us to his great Nephew visiting!) and the fishing was a lot of fun. The fish aren't always going to bite, but today after about a dozen rainbows and even a laker, consider us happy campers. Til next time!

We stayed here over the summer and cannot wait to return next year!! Even on our first visit, we were greeted like we were old friends. Amazing hospitality right from the start. Our cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to enjoy a relaxing summer night, including cards and games for after the sun went down. We loved taking in the view of the lake from the cabin's porch. Next year we hope to get to stay much longer!

We had an amazing week here! Very cozy and it was great to get away. So convenient being able to walk right out of your cabin and onto a boat to fish. They even helped us get a canoe to some other lakes. Highly recommend, we will definitely be back!

What an incredible little piece of Heaven in Northern Minnesota. Charming rustic cabins amazingly close to the water and spaced out so you feel as if you have your own private cabin in the woods! Loved being surrounded by nature on an incredibly clear and beautiful lake. They have all the amenities you could want on and off the water, and the owners take care of you like you are family. Leave the Mega-Resorts behind and enjoy cabin living the way it was meant to be!

My buds and I had a day out on the lake last week. Besides the slush, we had an awesome time catching fish! Rusty was super helpful with our gear, on his trusty snowmobile. Really appreciate the tips Guy gave us the night before too. Awesome people out there, let me tell ya folks. They are world class people, and we definitely will come back again sometime.

I stayed at Trout Lake Resort in August of 2016 and had an amazing time. We stayed in Cabin 2 and it has everything we could have needed and more. Very comfortable and relaxing surroundings. Fully furnished cabin and charcoal grill outside next to the patio. Trout Lake Resort is located about 20-25 minutes outside of Grand Marais off the Gunflint Trail - no cell phone reception out here but you won't miss it with how peaceful and relaxing the area is. The owners are great as well as their four legged friends, Coach and Lucky! I can't wait to visit again next year.

This place was awesome. Good fishing, the peace and quiet you expect up north, a short drive to Grand Marais. Far from city lights, the star gazing is fantastic on clear nights. No mobile phone service, no WiFi, so no temptation to check in with the office. Cabins are clean, comfy, and nicely maintained. The family that runs the resort are very friendly and helpful, and their dogs are great. I hope to make it a two week vacation next year.

Loved. Loved. Loved the peace & serenity that Trout Lake Resort brings to you like none other in the secluded backwoods of Grand Marais, Minnesota. The resort itself and the family that runs it were extremely kind and helpful in ensuring our weekend was absolutely picture-perfect. With perfect weather, blue skies and not a cell-phone in sight we fished and swam all weekend long. Caught a MAMMOTH 3.75lb LAKE TROUT that was 24" long. Amazing! It was the highlight of the weekend! Stayed in the 3 bedroom Cabin 7 which was perfect for our large group. Thank you Trout Lake Resort owner's...I'd recommend your lovely resort experience to anyone I know looking to "slow down" & relax amidst your Northern Minnesota heaven you call everyday life!!!

The owners of this place are the nicest people I have met in a long time. Beautiful cabin with all of the amenities including TV if you don't want to enjoy the outdoors or if you want to relax after a long day of hunting, walking, fishing etc.

Sept 2016 Three Hunters Stayed at Trout Lake Resort for a week of Bear Hunt area. The resort is clean and every one we met was friendly and assisted us with every thing we need. We even needed a large pot to boil the three 3# lobster we brought with us. The resort is tucked up the hill from the lake with plenty of trees and sights of nature all around us.AWESOME week of enjoyment will definitely stay with them again. Planning next Bear Hunt already. Love This Resort! You won't be able to find a more peaceful and relaxing resort as this. I go up every year for the trout fishing and late autumn foliage hunting. The views are absolutely breathtaking! I'm going back up this winter for some ice fishing.

Beautiful, quite, peaceful. Great place to spend a week experiencing Grand Marais without being to close to the hub bub of the town. The family that runs it is very nice and very helpful.

Rented canoes here on a private, secluded spot on Trout Lake. They were very helpful and friendly. Also very inexpensive. Looks like a great place to rent a cabin.
